Highly annoyed that at 2:53, you guys were no where to be found and clearly in close out mode(yet door was unlocked and I could go inside). Shouldn’t you do that after 3pm, ya know, when you have posted that you are closed? Guess I won’t rely on you for my next donut craving.

We love the donuts, we frequent the Quivira and 127th location. Made the trip to this location on the way to an appointment. I was a bit disappointed when walking in, in the middle of February and there is only outside seating. There is enough room for 1 or 2 tables inside, however there weren’t any. We tried to eat our chocolate sprinkled donut outside, it ended up being too cold, so now my backseat is a wonderland of chocolate and sprinkles. Thankfully I was able to run in for a second fill up of delicious coffee on this Monday morning.

Probably the most frustrating place. 1 person working the front counter and some bald guy working in the back giving everyone in front dirty looks when he comes up front but refuses to help anyone. It took 20 minutes to get 3 donuts. Really lamars?

These donuts are better than other local donut places, but this is absolutely not the best Lamars. Employees were not very friendly, and the quality of the donuts were not worth the price. Biggest complaint: The donut makers at this location clearly don’t understand how to make an old fashioned.

I’m with Wade. If people are making orders of 2 dozen or more, can they phone it in? I’ve stood there for 20 minutes and then by the time they get to me, everything is GONE. And sooner or later, so will their customers be. Work a little harder on the availability.

Great, fresh made doughnuts. If ever you have a special occasion, or maybe for no reason an assorted box of Lamar’s will help make the start of your day a great one.

LaMar’s Donuts is probably the most recognized local donut chain here in KC, and they do have nice selection of donuts and good coffee past 10AM. Do I think their donuts are the best? No, but they’re not bad. Although they have good appearance and they have a nice size to them, they don’t have the same crisp outside bite and inside softness that I get with some of the local mom and pop donut places in Johnson County. If I were looking for donuts and coffee at 10AM and I only had credit cards, I would go here. If I’m up early, have cash, and looking for a great donut, I know of a few better options before I come here.

I had the pleasure, and honor, of having these donuts on several occasions while in Kansas for work. I have raved often about these donts on several occasions since returning home to CT. My only complaint is that I can’t get them here at home!

Not all donuts are the same and LaMar’s definitely has a way of standing out among the crowd. I was introduced over 20 years ago when a man in my office would so kindly bring LaMar’s in every week or so. I love maple, so the maple long john was my favorite. Especially loved how thick the icing was on top, oh, and the size… yea, really it’s about twice the size of most donut shops. They have an outstanding apple fritter too AND the«cinnamon roll» isn’t bad for a donut.

Okay, so we came for the free wifi. But these are some damn fine donuts. Cinnamon sugar cake donuts were moist and sweet, certainly beating out Dunkin Donuts and the like. We didn’t get a chance to sample other KC places like Fluffy Fresh that people adore, but since the founder of LaMar’s taught Jay Leno how to make donuts on the Tonight Show, I guess he has some authority on the subject. I was perfectly happy with the food, the service(two efficient young guys), and oh yeah, the wifi ;)

Tasted like cheap ingredients. Filling was heavy greasy sugary. These doughnuts are huge and look amazing but sadly don’t have the flavor to match

The best donuts in Kansas City! The wait can sometimes be long, but it’s worth it.

The doughnuts here are fine. They won’t kill you, and they won’t wow you either. I just don’t understand how people stay so stuck to a doughnut that just doesn’t inspire anything but a round gut. If you’re going to eat doughnuts, they should be a cut above the rest. And when you compare them to fluffy Fresh or Space Age doughnuts, Lamar’s is just another regular doughnut place. Nothing special.

The donuts are terrific here. No question. The best in the metro area. The problem is this location tends to favor the office park crowd who at their turn in line order 1−2−3− even four dozen donuts at a time. at their own pace, taking their time while the rest of us simply coming in to grab a cup of coffee and a doughnut, have to wait and wait and wait for Java the hut to make up his mind on just how many maple bars he wants, and I mean this can take 5 minutes. Can they set up these 3 dozen orders ahead?. Or why not have one of the clueless counter people, ask is there anyone who is here for a small order? They don’t seem to get it, I will never go back to this location. Besides the coffee is typically weak.

The first couple times I had Lamar’s, I wasn’t overly impressed(different location than this). But they’ve really grown on me. I’m a fan of just straight up glazed donuts and I’m pretty picky. I often don’t like them but the ones at Lamars are pretty good. Not perfect, but good. They also have donut holes which just make me happy inside. They have a wide variety options(including a lot of specialty flavors for the seasons like pumpkin spice and peppermint chocolate). The cinnamon twists are massive and excellent. They have huge cinnamon rolls but I’ve yet tried on. They are just too big to get as a snack. The apple fritters are good too. They also have a rewards/loyalty card that you can earn free donuts and coffee which is a bonus. The service is always really fast even when busy and the staff friendly.

I’ve been traveling to the KC area literally for years and had never been to LaMar’s. Heard about it when Krispy Kreme came to town and the locals swooned over the next big thing. But they went back to their hometown favorite and I now know why. So when I finally made may way in there I realized what I had been missing out on. Not sure if other LaMar’s are like this, but this one(set in one of the thousands of strip malls in SoJoCo) feels like an actual bakery. It’s got the right smell and look. The people were Midwest friendly. And the donuts rock! Glazed, chocolate, pumpkin, apple spice, chocolate glazed. I will be back. I need to make up for lost time.

LaMar’s Rocks! They have the BEST donuts in town! Great Selection. The people here are AMAZING! So Nice especially the short dark curlyhaired girl. HOWEVER– they don’t make enough donuts. Especially on Fridays and Saturdays. Twice now I’ve gone in to get donuts for staff meeting @ 8:00 and there is nothing left. Saturdays at 9;00 are even worse. Come on guys make donuts so you enough all morning! They probably aren’t useing a good inventory systme which is sad cause I haven’t bother going back since the last time they were out of everything… perhaps I will give them a shot this weekend.
