Great food but horrible customer service. I’ve been there 3 times and I have yet to hear a greeting or see a smile.

Meh… nothing out of the ordinary. I picked a few out and all of them were average. I was most excited about the sticky bun but it just wasn’t fresh & even nuking it the microwave didn’t help much. All their stuff is probably good when it’s fresh but none of mine were

I have wanted to try one of these places and have to admit that these took me back in time to my Aunt Marcela’s Kolache’s — I could have spent the day eating there. Staff is a little young and has some attitude, but the food was good enough that I overcame that. I had a cream cheese, a egg and sausage stuffed and a cinnamon roll. The only thing disappointing was the cinnamon roll — it was only okay. I signed up for the online membership and can’t wait to celebrate the rewards.

I have only encountered a kolache once during a road trip to Houston from Kansas City and stopping by a predominately Czech town. I love bread and stuffed bread is even better so I was excited to check out Kolache Factory. The first kolache I had from Kolache Factory was given to me and included sausages, eggs, and jalapenos. Needless to say, I was craving for more after my single kolache. Kolache factory has a ridiculous amount of choices that it is difficult to pick one. They’ve got savory and sweet kolaches to satisfy any craving you have for a decent price. Their bread was also soft and moist. I found their ratio of bread to filling to be adequate. For me, their Italian chicken was their best savory kolache. The chicken was moist and was oozing with creamy sauce. This was essential a pasta dish with the bread as your spoon. I had a bite of the pepperoni kolache it was also quite good. I would love to try everything else on their menu. One item that I absolutely loved was their Sticky Bun was was toped with pecans. These are monstrous and oh so delicious. I am a big fan of the Kolache Factory and would love to try every item off their menu if only they were closer to my home!

This is a great place to get a quick, inexpensive, on-the-go breakfast for 1 or 100. Everyone has their favorites, although I would have a hard time deciding. My go to kolache is probably the Ranchero. The service is usually spot on, and the quality is very consistent. Any time I have ever had a problem, which isn’t often, they are quick to try to remedy the situation. My only complaint, if it even qualifies, is that the kolaches with meat in them can be a tad dry at times, which may just be how they are, because I haven’t been able to fix that in my homemade variety, nor have I been anywhere else that has accounted for that little thing. Regardless, try them. I think you’ll like them.

This is my new favorite breakfast. After reading some of the reviews, I expected the kolaches to be the size of donut holes. I felt fat because I told my husband to get me a few for breakfast, and they turned out to be the size of breakfast sandwiches. I love the bacon egg and cheese kolache. It is like burrito filling stuffed into a delicious roll. Make sure your kolache is warm or ask for it to be heated!

Great place for a quick, unique brunch. I had heard about Kolache Factory, and I finally found myself near one while they were open. I keep forgetting that they close at 2:00 pm. For the uninitiated, kolaches are just balls of dough stuffed with just about everything It’s a small space in Deer Creek Woods, about ten tables. It has a layout similar to a Dunkin Donuts, you walk up to the register and behind the cashiers they have shelves with all the kolaches and you can take your pick. After you order place you order the cashier will pick them up and warm them up in a microwave under their counter(which made me doubtful of the whole endeavor). However, the kolaches were delicious, we tried the Italian chicken(my wife’s favorite), meatball, egg bacon and cheese, club and the walnut cinnamon roll. Everything was delicious. I could sit there and eat kolaches all day long. They run a little over $ 2 a piece which isn’t exactly cheap considering their size, but they are yummy! Also, the staff was mostly nice and helpful, but one of the cashiers did not look like he wanted to be there at all.

First time here at the Kolache Factory. I was so excited to try these. Not excited after I saw how small these were for about $ 1.50 and up for one. I arrived at 8: am. Ordered 1) sausage, egg, and jalepenos 2) bacon and cheese 3) cream cheese 4) strawberry. Spent $ 9+ tax. The Kolaches were so small! The fillings were cold, bread was not soft. I wanted to microwave them! 4 Kolache didn’t fill me up at all. I, however, did like the cream cheese. That was the best one out of the 4 I tried. The place is clean and employees were very friendly. This was my first time here, so I may try it again later on in the future. Next time I’ll go when they first open so that the Kolaches will at least be warm.

I swear, I have dreams of kolache. I sadly have not tried any of their sweet treats but only because I can’t get past the savory treats. I love their sausage egg and cheese kolache, as well as the sausage gravy one. Make sure it’s good and warm before munching. They offer wheat and white for the breading, the wheat is a little sweet. The staff has always been very kind for being so early in the AM.

Love the warm bread(kolache)! I like the fact that they have whole wheat bun for some flavors. My favorites are egg & cheese, spinach, blueberry and apple.

Been coming here since 2010 and love the place. They always have new flavors and the kolaches are something familiar yet different. Get here quick in the day since they sell out of things and close at 2pm.

I love coming here! It’s a small place but don’t let that fool you. They have numerous flavors of Kolache’s but I always get the philly cheesesteak. They always come out hot and full of flavor. You can’t just have one! The dough is soft and the meat inside is so good. People usually get a dozen or so which I think is plenty cause they fill you up fairly quickly. If you are in the Overland Park area, come in for a quick visit. The customer service is great and they will gladly give you recommendations if you are struggling on what you want. They are delicious and a must have!

Lots of options and the flavors I tried were ok, but not the best I’ve had and nothing I couldn’t make at home. I ordered«jalapeño, cheese, and sausage» and I guess was expecting more of a ground sausage with the peppers and melted cheese mixed in, but got what tasted more like a ballpark hot dog toped with a few peppers and a sprinkle of cheese. The bbq beef one was recommended to me by the cashier, which I enjoyed. I felt rushed to make my selection, even though no one was in line behind me, so I hurriedly chose a peach kolache as dessert, which was my least favorite of the 3 I tried. After paying and waiting for my food, I saw their seasonal selections of pumpkin and pecan pie, which I wished I had tried instead. The cashier put all 3 in a bag and threw them in the microwave for about 30 seconds then handed them to me. Overall, the price was very reasonable and I would still send someone in need of a cheap, fast, tasty lunch here, but it won’t be a place I frequent often.

Kolaches, as interpreted in the heartland, are the Czech variation of savory-protein-wrapped-in-dough… in this case, it’s a slightly sweet yeast dough, something like a dinner roll, stuffed with meat or cheese or egg or some combination thereof. They are a herd creature & don’t like to be separated from the pack, so don’t buy a singleton… seriously, you’re not meant to eat just one. I always get two for lunch, & I’m a tiny eater. The Boy can eat half a dozen of ‘em. Haven’t tried the sweet ones yet, but the breakfast-style kolaches are great — like an omelette in a bun!

It’s fast food, there are(polite) young people at the registers, and it’s only open through lunchtime, but it is something different. There aren’t kolaches anywhere else in the area — though I’ve since had more authentic Czech kolaches in Texas, Kolache Factory was my first experience with the delicious balls of dough. It’s basically a doughy pastry with filling, which ranges from fruit to sausage to chicken enchilada filling. My favorite is the jalapeño popper. They’re all between $ 1 and $ 3. They also have a couple of usual options like cinnamon rolls. Easy, fast, filling, and delicious, KF is one of my favorite lazy lunches in south OP.

I didn’t know what a kolache was before coming here. After I came here with my friend, I think kolaches were delicious! I could easily eat a dozen. This place was pretty much a bakery and whatever they had on the trays was how much they had left. There were a few that were empty which led me to believe they were the popular ones. My friend and I did come after lunch time(maybe after 1pm?) so that was probably the reason why a bunch were gone. The place was small but really clean. The staff here were nice as well and gave some recommendations on what they would have ordered. I ordered a BBQ Beef Kolache($ 1.69), a Pepperoni and Mushroom Kolache($ 1.69), and a Cinnamon Roll($ 1.49). I would have ordered more if I knew how good they were. I ate the Cinnamon Roll before I left to go home. I brought the kolaches home to eat later. My friend ordered a few kolaches(I think one was a Bacon and Cheese) and a Nut & Raisin Roll($ 1.59). The Nut & Raisin Roll was a little bit bigger than the Cinnamon Roll but looked pretty good. Why couldn’t this place be closer to where I live???

So, whenever I am geographically close to a part of town that I don’t normally frequent, I immediately think of where I might eat. If I’m by 119th and 69 Highway, I eat at the in-house restaurant at 888 International Market. If I am near Midtown, I hit You Say Tomato, and if I’m at 135th and anything, I get to Kolache Factory. It was around 630am. I had an 8am class I was teaching at Rockhurst University and I could see a well-oiled machine at work. A staff member was leaving(if she was *ending* her shift at 630, when did she get there? Wow, that’s awesome) and another was coming in, both high school age, so clearly the managers either hire well or manage well, and either is a feat these days in retail food. I then proceeded to calmly order 5 dozen sweet and savory kolaches. Not only did she not flinch and quickly fill my order, not only did she offer napkins and trays, but she told me that anytime you order over a dozen you get 10% off and she threw in a coupon that was out there for 6 free when you buy a dozen and saved me like $ 20. Saving me money when I didn’t expect it? Great service and good food? Great staff? Those pieces are what make visiting a locally owned business(even if it is a franchise) so great.

This place is 100% average. I can’t believe it has 4.5 stars on Unilocal… honestly, it’s not that great. It’s fine, but not 4.5 stars fine in my opinion. Growing up, I was spoiled. My parents, as kids, both worked at a bakery on the west side of Chicago that served up amazing kolacky/kolache. Since my grandmother still lived down the street from said bakery, I got both sweet and savory kolacky on a regular basis. It was amazing, and still is to this day. So, I was excited to hear about the Kolache Factory. However, from the first bite, I was disappointed. First, there are quite a few choices, mostly savory, but some sweet. I ordered from the rather unfriendly man at the counter and the food was served up quickly after a quick heat in the microwave… always a recipe for deliciousness. I had a «spicy» Texas Hot Polish Sausage, and a bacon/egg/cheese. Both of them were fine, but really nothing special. They were filling, they had some decent flavor, but beyond that they were not memorable in the slightest. Do I need to come back here? No. If I lived a bit closer, I might, once in a great while… but at my current location, 15 minutes away, there is no way I will frequent Kolache Factory.

The portable, self contained meal. I like my food to be a little more sloppy, so I add salsa. Otherwise, nothing would drip on my shirt. My husband adds ketchup. They keep those packets easily accessible at the store. My brother never really gets too excited about food, but while he was visiting we ate here twice(The first time was because it was close and the place we wanted to eat at was closed). He commented that it was his favorite of all the places I took him. Really? A two dollar meat, egg and cheese stuffed, soft, bagely ball was all it took to impress him? Sometimes simple is best. The people who work here are very patient and willing to explain each roll. You can size up and get a croissant if you would like(available for some flavors). Some of them come in a wheat option. The fruit ones are not my favorite, but the Chocolate Bavarian is a staple. The Italian Chicken is quite good. Jalapeño Sausage is my current love. They also have a flavor of the month. It’s posted on the door as you come in. They give you a discount on a dozen. When they package them, they mark the box top to indicate which one is which(kinda like the way boxes of chocolate have the flavor diagram). These are a great substitution for donuts if you are picking up something to share with coworkers. Call ahead in the morning — they are super busy then. PS Anything with egg or potato have the most filling.
