I very rarely write bad reviews because I tend to feel bad, but I was compelled to after this visit. We sat on the patio and waited at least 15 min for our drinks to arrive. They never did. Ended up walking into the bar and purchasing them. Waiter didn’t even notice. Service was horrendous. Food, eh, marginal. Shrimp tacos were solid, salad was average at best. Expecting much much more with the escalated prices compared to similar places.

Devon was a first class bartender. He introduced himself and became our cruise director for Happy Hour. The Mahi tacos were great, the pineapple/vodka martini was great. The Tenderloin sliders were fantastic. Great Happy Hour specials from3:00. –6:30. It was 90 percent women.

We enjoyed a night out and took advantage of a special they were offering on filet mignons. While quite thin, the flavor was good, especially with the sauce they offered with it. But the price was great so can’t complain! Both of our steaks were cooked perfectly as ordered. Sadly and surprisingly, though, neither of our potatoes were cooked through. We both had areas that were hard inside. Attentive servers. When we first arrived, I was shocked to see about four employees opening the doors and welcoming us! And I think there were about 4 hostesses!

Great service at the bar… really great! Half price wine on Mondays doesn’t hurt :0)

Excellent food and atmosphere. The addictive, red-chili croutons on the Ceasar Salad will cauterize your mouth, and you will thank the chef for it. Perfectly-sized portions, all cooked to the desired temperatures: Not an easy task to accomplish, but Firebirds does it every time. Highly recommended.

This is one of my favorite restaurants! This place is beautiful and the service is great! Their bread is SOGOOD and you have to get their lobster spinach queso as an appetizer. This queso is by far my favorite cheese dip I’ve had at any restaurant. I always get the bacon-wrapped filet mignon cooked medium with the mashed potatoes. They also have the best mashed potatoes ever. I’ve also had their crab cakes, southwest potatoes au gratin & loaded baked potato. All of them are amazing. I come here all the time, have tried many different dishes & have never been disappointed! The only thing I’ve had a problem with is I’ve had to send my steak back 3 different times because it was undercooked. It doesn’t bother me too much since this food is so good! Would definitely recommend

Our regular Friday night restaurant was busy, so we went to try Firebirds. We sat in the bar and the atmosphere was nice. We were served right away. I had two delicious appletinis and ordered the Firebirds chicken pasta. It was great and, as my husband will attest, I’m not easily impressed. Today, I was excited to have my leftovers and they did not disappoint. We will be going back.

We previously dined at a Firebirds in Omaha and so we chose the one in Overland Park for a belated Valentine’s dinner. I had made a reservation. Our wait was only a few minutes. Our server was Kelly. She was appropriately engaging, well informed as to the menu items and quite willing to accept our orders as modified. My wife had a filet that was cooked to a perfect medium and very tender. The side of sweet potato waffle fries were quite tasty. I had a «butchers cut» sirloin. It was cooked medium well, though I had ordered a medium. I also ordered the mac and cheese. Kelly said it had some bite. It turned out to have more bite than I cared for. We were too full to eat dessert, so we ordered carrot cake to go. It was a great choice for an evening out.

I enjoyed the Firebird. We had Friday night reservations for a party of 4. We got right in and was greeted appropriately. James was awesome and really knew the menu. Drinks were superb and food was fantastic. Especially the lobster spinach and cheese dip!

This is my second visit here. The first time was when they opened; it was not great the first time. This time it was terrible. The goods: the Hendricks and tonic were good… and strong. The bathroom tile is nice. The bad: My husband’s prime rib was cold upon arrival at the table. It took almost ten minutes for someone to notice we had an issue. Upon second preparation, the prime rib was medium well(not medium rare). He decided not to eat the second preparation, either. Lastly, my friend had the trout. There were two pieces on the plate. The first piece was prepared nicely. The second piece was charred on the bottom. Overall, an unsatisfying experience. With all the quality restaurants in the area, you can find a by far better experience.

Go ahead and pick another restaurant if you want good food or service. Let me list the reasons why: 1. Service was awful 2. Prime rib was cold, second round was over cooked and the manager sat and watched while my co worker took his first bite 3. Trout was black(seriously over cooked) 4. Lobster dip was decent(gotta put something good) 5. Mahi was fishy 6. The most reviewed item was the BLT salad and it was good but not great. Go somewhere else people. This place is not worth your time.

Probably should of made a reservation as calling in to put my name on the list ahead of time was not so great. Hostess didn’t really help out nor accurate on the wait, granted it was an estimate. Once seated though things improved greatly. The server was AWESOME, knew the menu, had an opinion, and very efficient. Chef came out to check in and see how we liked our appetizer(queso) and it was great. Main courses(steak, prime rib) was fantastic, and the wine was reasonably priced(Murphy Goode). Will be back for sure next time I’m in town.

We took our mother here for Christmas yesterday. We had a wonderful waiter who helped us pick a bottle of wine. He brought out sample tasters of wine for use to choose. We had the BLT salads. They were delicious! Nice thick pieces of bacon, small diced tomatoes, and a lovely creamy dressing. Our main course came out in a reasonable amount of time. I had the 7oz filet mignon. It was cooked perfectly(medium/medium rare). My mother had the sesame encrusted salmon and she stated it was the best she’d ever had. The fries spinach side that came with it was delicious. My sister had the Parmesan encrusted Mahi with bacon jam Brussel sprouts. She commented his wonderful everything was. She lives close by and will return with her family! Our waiter was wonderful and attentive, the food was delicious and presented well. Great place. Highly recommend.

My first review. This place is nothing special. Bad service. Lackluster food. Mediocre ambiance. Definitely wouldn’t come back. Ever again.

Overall a decent experience. I will start by saying that I didn’t try any cocktails/wine(as I’m pregnant), but that their wine and cocktail menu seemed pretty good. The atmosphere was upscale without being too formal. I liked the look of the restaurant and of the bar area. I had the KC Strip Steak with a loaded baked potato and the blt salad. The salad was tasty as was the baked potato. The steak itself was good but it had way more fat on it than your typical cut of KC strip. This was the only disappointing part. I wish I’d gone with the ribeye. Another member of my party got that and it looked perfect. Lesson learned. Also, the Bruleed cheesecake was very unique and quite tasty. Our service was good(not overly friendly, but still good) and the manager did come around to check on the tables while we were there. I would come back if in the area and looking for a nice meal, though I wouldn’t recommend bringing young kids here(babies, toddlers, etc).

Stopped by on our way somewhere else to eat at the recommendation from mt daughter. It was around 8:30 so not too busy and we got a table very quickly. I asked for a gluten free menu and they had one readily available. While I would have liked to try their fish tacos unfortunately they were not available on the gluten free menu. However they still had a nice selection. My husband ordered the Durango burger(he’s a big burger lover) and I ordered the pepper crusted sirloin. His burger was huge and looked quite delicious. He said it was very good. My steak was 12 ounces of lean medium rare deliciousness with a kick. What I couldn’t eat my husband finished and said he would order it on our next visit. It was served with a large helping of parmesan mashed potatoes — yummy. All in all a good dining experience and we will go back.

Love, love, love the Mahi fish taco special on Wednesday’s. My boyfriend and I find ourselves there every Weds for lunch because they are so delicious and consistent — especially for being in the Midwest. We have been other times too and I have really enjoyed their ahi tuna(portion was perfect and was good quality) and he loved their Delmonico steak. Caesar salad is tasty too! Service is very quick and attentive. We love coming here for lunch!

The service was good, the food was good but it is a long way from where I live so not some place I would come to very often because of the distance. We came here for a birthday celebration. I think these places are pretty typical for suburban dining that caters to the lifestyle out here. Nothing wrong with it. It’s consistent and pleasant.
