After living nearby for over a year now and scouring this godforsaken town to find ANYTHING positive about it, this spot had somehow slipped right under my nose until today. I used to joke that it was a drug front until my girlfriend enlightened me on its great offerings, and she was right! I tried a sampling of their«best stuff», including their famous Portuguese roll, a standard hard roll, and a jelly donut. Everything was truly exceptional; fresh, chewy, and delicious. The guy at the counter was very pleasant as well. I used to drive several miles to pick up the famous Arthur Ave. Terranova bread from A&S in Croton, but I have a feeling that from now on I’m going to be spending a little less on gas.

I’m still feeling positive about this place. I had a hunch about this, but I tried their croissant anyways and it was bad. So try anything other than the croissant.

Great service, delicious donuts and the freshest bread. Must try the Portuguese Pao Caisero & the Jelly and Glazed Donuts! I’ve definitely found my new«go-to» bakery!!!

I am very excited to find this bakery in Ossining. The place looks very nondescript but after hearing that they were voted Best Donuts in Westchester 2013, I decided to give them a go. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that the owners were Portuguese as many of the other bakeries in town are Central or South American, which in my opinion tend to offer baked goods that are too sweet or heavy on the shortening. The donuts did not disappoint! My Frenchie husband is very particular and is crazy for the jelly donuts, which remind him of beignets from his childhood. As a Very Important Bonus, Ossining Bakery has very nice bread, which up until now I had just about given up finding in Ossining. I was lucky to get a loaf of Panna della Casa fresh from the oven and my husband busted into that thing before I could blink an eye. Saves me a lot of work since up until now I had just resolved to baking my own bread to get a satisfactory crust! Prices are VERYREASONABLE for high quality, tasty breads and sweets. Parking is not so great.

Missing your glazed donuts. Grew up on them and looking forward to seeing you next summer.

Plus: Best hard rolls you’ll find outside of Arthur Avenue. Doughnuts and cookies are also top notch. They’ve been open forever for a reason– we used to go here for rolls every Sunday after mass going back to the 1960’s. Minus: Rather narrow selection. You’ll get some great rolls and a few choices of doughnuts/cookies, but that’s it. And the coffee is almost an afterthought set up the same way someone might do it at an office lunch. But the rolls are the best, period.

I just got a croissant from here. I was decent. They have more breads than sweets.
