Went there 3÷9÷16 for my birthday with a party of 6. We sat down and placed our orders. When the salads came out, two of them were wrong. They corrected that. We were still eating our salads when the main course came out. One of them was wrong. We were rushed thru our meal because the place was crowded. This was our second time there, and now our last. The prime rib tasted like diner food. I don’t recommend this place.

Beautiful high end décor! Nice, varied menu, but bizarrely did not offer the Porterhouse steak I was dreaming about. While they did have Chicken Francese, they apparently did not have the recipe to make Veal Francese, and I did not want to disturb the snooty waiter with a special request. Hard to believe, but NOHAMBURGERS! How about a nice, bloody ¾ pound $ 20.00 Burger, or a $ 50.00 Kobe Beef Burger? Three of the five meals were good, I won’t describe the good and the bad in detail for personal reasons, sorry. The most important reason for only one star and to avoid Rosebuds in favor of the dozen+ other quality steakhouse options in Sarasota, is the bread! I’ve eaten at a lot of restaurants, but never have I been served bread so disgusting, and I’ve had some poor quality bread. I thought the butter was rancid, then I realized, they served sourdough bread without warning or choice. I realize some people do not equate sourdough to vomit, but I do and one loaf remained unfinished among 5 people, when normally we would have asked for seconds and thirds. It’s not complicated, if you want to play San Francisco Steak House, at least give an option of French or Italian bread, for your discerning diners. The Desserts looked good! No Sourdough Carrot Cake ;)

We had an excellent meal, just wished we could have had room for dessert. The cakes looked absolutely delicious! The service was fabulous. It has been a very long time since we’ve had good service, almost forgot what it was like. Several staff even thanked us on the way out. The waitress was the best ever! I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area.

Not impressed with this restaurant at all. Went there for the Bone-In Ribeye that states it is aged for at least thirty days. The steak was not aged at all lacked flavor and was not cooked the way I ordered. Will not be going back.

Went there for lunch. ordered ceasar salad with grouper nuggets… took over 30 minutes for order to arrive… the lettuce was warm and when warm, does not have flavor. the grouper nuggets were tasteless and the cost of lunch was pricey…

Fantastic! Was headed somewhere else and saw this place. Made a u turn and had the best dinner yet! Highly recommend the prime rib. Our server«Deja» was great and a wealth of info on local happenings which helped this pair of out of towners navigate the rest of our vacation. Will return again and again!

Low key, old, and a little dark but comfortable is how I would describe the atmosphere. The menu is a good combination of beef, chicken and seafood. I had the Land, Sea and Gulf entrée which consisted of a sirloin steak, crab cake and 2 fried shrimp. My husband had the NY strip. We both had Caesar salad with our meal. We both declared our steaks to be exceptional. I’ve never had a sirloin as tasty as this although I did have to send it back to have it cooked just a bit longer as it was more rare than I liked. It came back perfect! The crab cake was one of the best I’ve ever had and the shrimp were large. We both agreed the croutons on the salad were a little too hard and crunchy but it was served on a chilled plate and very good. Bottom line, we would definitely go back again when in town.

Wow! This place is amazing! The décor is very welcoming and makes you feel comfortable. I had the bone in Ribeye and my husband had another steak(I can’t quite remember the name). They were both spectacular! We live in Tampa and tend to eat our steaks at Bern’s, but now we will be making the trek down to Osprey! Even the staff was knowledgeable and helpful with my picky eating requests. Five stars all around!

I have been eating at Rosebud’s for many years at least once a month. They have consistently the best steaks in Sarasota County. Always aged and cooked to perfection at a much lower price than the luxury chains. The menu for sides is limited. We usually have dinner and drinks at the bar side where reservations are not necessary. The interior was recently very tastefully renovated. This is definitely the best steakhouse in the area.

Very old-fashioned type steakhouse, plain and simple good cuts of meat and traditional steakhouse sides. Service is prompt and friendly. The food is not bad nor outstanding.

Just enjoyed a wonderful meal at rosebuds. Hubby had the New York strip and declared it best ever! I had filet and it was wonderful as well. Must have: carrot cake! I thought it was an attractive restaurant, service was good. Prices were in line with area. Bread was just ok but nothing to complain about. Will definitely return!

Sadly, our party of four came here upon reading a review. Our experience was so terrible that I would never wish it on another patron and none of us will ever return. We had one in our party who ordered a medium-rare steak. It came out well-done and the manager(one of the sons, I discovered) said it was the lighting and we must be confused. Our salads were soggy and not fresh, the other orders tasted like they came out of a can, and the service was unfriendly. The worst part was the management attitude: it seemed the manager couldn’t care less about our business — he told us to pay our bill and leave although we tried to discuss the issues with him. This place is outdated and the food is overrated. Never again.

Excellent all around. Waitress was very sweet to our 4 year old. All our meals were top notch and affordable. Best prime rib I’ve had in a long time.

Went here for a anniversary dinner. Everything was great, food was fantastic. We had appetizers of oyster Rockefeller and French onion soup which was fantastic. Then out main dishes of the New York strip and salmon. Both great, the steak was absolutely perfect and juicy and came with a baked potato. And the salmon was fresh and tasty. Ended up doing desert too of the banana bread pudding which was also good. Service was great she got everything right and she was attentive. But she seemed very uptight and was scared of making mistakes. And it was slow at the time and I saw bussers making circles around the restaurant. I think I saw the same busser pass our table 5 times. I’m guessing there’s a strict manager around or something but it was a bit uncomfortable imo seeing this. Although. Food was great. I will be returning.

I had the best seafood and enjoyed every bite. You can’t go wrong with the bass and lump crab. The owners are super nice. I’m from Texas and will come back again. Take a dessert home which is worth the price. The carrot cake was huge.

Another stop on our winter Florida vacation. Nice selection on the menu. Fair prices. Excellent service. I had probably one of the best pieces of salmon I’ve ever had. It was cooked perfectly! Melt in your mouth texture and buttery taste. Chowder very good. Décor is a little dated, but that didn’t have any effect of the food. Pricing fair for most items. Crab legs for market price were high. $ 50 bucks? No thanks. All in all it was a good experience.

Went with a large party of 8; the restaurant was able to accommodate a reservation at a normal dinner hour! Almost all of us had prime rib, which everyone enjoyed. My grandmother had the top sirloin, crab cake and shrimp; she loved everything but the crab cake. She said it had a lot of filler and felt like they tried to trick you into thinking it had more crab by making it «more crab tasting». The baked potatoes were good and I had the sautéed mushrooms which had a good taste but were less than room temperature when I got them. Overall the food was good although the restaurant was a little crowded.

If you’re looking for good food this is your stop. Honestly, being from California it is rare that you ever find a steakhouse that is reasonably priced with decent food. Rosebud’s was all of that and more. Excellent food with friendly service and fairly priced. We ordered the prime rib with New England clam chowder, a house salad and steak fries. We added extra sides: sautéed mushrooms and grilled onions. Let me just tell you it was all FANTASTIC! Even the bread was warm, fresh baked sourdough that is always a soft spot. Topped it off with an in house made sangria that was perfect. When the dessert platter came out there wasn’t room, but it all looked excellent as well. Thank you rosebuds for making a meal that satisfied the soul and taste buds!
