YMCA

I’m specifically rating the lap pool. It was excellent — 8 lanes, 6 were designated for swimming laps when I arrived @ 9:15am on Sunday; 2 were open. The pool is warm [82F] and fast. You don’t need to wear a bathing cap. A day pass costs $ 14 — but for someone who wants to swim their laps while out of town, I would pay this anytime for a quality pool. The locker room had plenty of towels too and only light gratuitous nudity! WOW for a Y [the towels, not the nudity]! The rest of the Y looked great — a newer Y with an extensive weight and cardio section.

The 20^th Ave location is a great YMCA location with friendly people. The YMCA does have multiple locations in Oshkosh and this location does have quite a bit to offer. The swimming pool does have a water slide & a shallow water area for kids to play in. Multiple basketball courts are also available if you like to play basketball for a workout or just to play a game for fun. The location also has a rock climbing wall but does have a sign up list to use so you may want to call and see if you can get in if that is the sole reason for your visit. There is also and indoor walking track for those that don’t want to walk out in the elements. The only real reason for the star loss is that the app that is available to see the schedules at this location seems to miss some things. The pool was attempted to be visited at a time that was shown as open swim only to find that there was a swim meet going on. Better schedule updates for those that choose to use the app to see what is happening would be beneficial. Overall the location is a great place to get a workout or have fun with family.
