The service was excellent. Fresh management with great things in the making and the food was good also. Definitely will be back. Good luck!!!

The Vine is kind of an odd hybrid — it’s a pretty legit local-talent gallery, really, but also a good restaurant. Some of the art was, uh, not to my taste, but a lot of it was very good. Anyway, we landed here for dinner the other night after considering a few other options that ended up being way more pricey. We tried the pasta special and a pizza with prosciutto, artichoke hearts and onion(our choice). Both were excellent. The pizza is probably big enough for three if we get a couple of side salads, not bad for $ 14. It had lots of cheese and toppings, the crust was thin and crispy, kind of like we’re used to with St. Louis style but without mozzarella instead of provel. The pasta special was a «rose» sauce, which I think is just combined red and white. We got it with grilled chicken. We had my MIL with us and all shared the three dishes with two house salads. It was all we could eat, since we brought about a third of the pizza home. Along with our dinner, we had a red wine flight, which I really liked, plus one more glass of Riesling. All our food was freshly prepared and excellent. Service was very good. Although this probably isn’t the greatest spot for kids, we will probably come back with our daughter sometime for a pizza. She’s an art lover.

For the past couple of years, I have found myself at Tantara for a conference of English teachers. Last year we discovered The Vine, which is just a couple of minutes from the resort. This restaurant offers good wine, a friendly staff, interesting art, tasty entrees and a welcome escape from the often kitschy Tantara. This year we went again, sharing a bottle of decent Malbec and sampling entrees that ranged from pasta to pizza to salad. You can walk around the gallery space with your glass of wine while waiting for your entrees. All in all, a very pleasant experience.

This used to be my favorite restaurant at the lake. Sometimes it was a bit slow but the food was always excellent. We went tonight for the first time under new management. The soup was very good, salad very good but the chicken curry was inedible. It had a horrible bitter taste. we also had the portabella pasta dish which was slightly better. we were the only people there at 6:30 on Saturday night. We used to love this place-please fix it!

After our dismal experience last time, we went back for a couple of different dates. One experience was average, the next one was awful. The new manager is always off on weekends, which is also their busiest time, therefore makes no sense. There are new servers there are not invested in this establishment at all… the owner is a nice guy that we have met several times in the past, but who lives out of town and therefore cannot be present and trusts the manager to do their job– on the most recent experience– there was one server, and a party of 15 had been seated before us– it took 15 – 20 minutes to get a glass of water, and another 15 – 20 minutes to order a bottle of wine. By this time, the other party had just given their order– another 45 minutes before they got their salads and appetizers, which were also messed up. By this time, we realized that we could be there for another 2 hours before we saw our food… so we had to track down the one server and pay for our wine and leave, so we could order carryout pizza at home… I am so sad that a place I loved is going down like this for lack of proper management and accountability… and we could not even speak to the so called manager because she is ‘off’ on weekends. Sad to say, we will not be returning…

12 of us tried several appetizers and main dishes. Some good apps, none great. One Chardonnay. Terrible chicken Jerusalem recommended by our waitress. Frozen precooked strips of chicken, frozen vegetable medley. All came out cold and after sending it back, even warmed it was inedible. 2 of us ordered it, neither could eat it. White sediment in water glasses. No one had an outstanding main dish. Pizzas were the better choice. 2 bottles of not good red wines, both different. Very disappointing given the positive reviews. Would not return.

Took my family there for dinner. Had three pizzas and a pasta dish. All agreed the food was excellent. Staff was pleasant and attentive. The art gallery atmosphere was unique and enjoyable. Would not hesitate to return or recommend to anyone.

Loved the atmosphere and the artwork. Relaxed and enjoyable. We arrived at 8 on a Saturday night for dinner for two. It took the waitress 20 minutes to get water for us and take our order. It’s a seat yourself place and was fairly busy, plus we didn’t have a reservation. We had been sitting with our water and a glass of wine for an hour by the time we finally got our food. Service wasn’t great but the food was excellent and the wine delightful.

I visited this establishment for Valentines Day. It was simply amazing. Staff greeted us at the door with a friendly and hospitable personality, and escorted us to our table. Menu and pairings were magnificent, and food was delicious. Atmosphere was magical, and ambiance made the night an intimate and unforgettable experience. I would recommend this place to anyone. The art drove the atmosphere home. Great place.

This place is amazing! Love the art galleries, comfy couches, incredible service, and great food. Not to mention a nice selection of reasonably-priced wines. This will absolutely be a place we seek out each time we visit the Lake of the Ozarks.

My girlfriends and I had a great bottle of wine along with the salmon salad, veal ravioli, marinara w/spicy Italian sausage, rosa penne chicken pasta! Scrumptious and delightful service. Thanks we will be back.

Excellent experience. The environment is very comfortable and the exhibits set high expectations.. . Which are exceeded! The chef visited with us personally to discuss menu options since I am vegitarian and offered wonderful alternatives. And the wine was delightful. We will be back.

I loved this place. The art on the walls isn’t great, but it makes it fun. We got a great bottle of wine and French onion crostini to start. The crostini was made from really delicious whole wheat bread. The onion topping very reminiscent of French Onion soup — a really good deconstruction. I had a ribeye steak. The menu say it’s from a local rancher, hand cut and selected. It was one of the best steaks I’ve had. Tender, juicy, full of flavor. The green beans and garlic potatoes were also husband got some ravioli. He thought they were good, but the sauce was a little heavy. No room for dessert. Lovely service. The owner discussed the wine and the steaks. The servers seemed like family. Low-key, homey and very comfortable with really good food. What more could you ask for. Less than half the price we’d have to pay in a big city.

Beautiful artwork to browse(and purchase) while sipping on wine. Good selection of beers too. The red pepper tomato bisque soup and veal & portabella ravioli was amazing! We got a flight to see what paired best with the meal and were very happy with the prompt service.

This is exactly what the Lake of the Ozarks needed; an upscale dining experience with the local hospitality of the lake, where an evening of delicious food and wine will not break the bank. Last weekend was my first experience at The Vine, and I can’t wait to bring more people in to enjoy their amazing food. My family split three appetizers: crab cake, kobe beef sliders and spinach artichoke dip. Each one was so delicious, I wasn’t sure I was going to need an entrée. I ordered the special which was a sizable filet with smashed potatoes and green beans. Again, the entire meal was delightful and I didn’t need a to-go box, which rarely happens. They have a decent variety of wine, but you simply can’t beat the price per bottle. We’re talking $ 15 – 28. The service was wonderful. It’s family operated where the mom is the head chef and her friendly daughter tends bar and serves. The art gallery aspect was also enjoyable, and they encourage you to walk around with a glass of wine before dinner to view the pieces. The location is very close to Tan-Tar-A Resort, so if you’re staying there or anywhere nearby, it is a must!

What a find! We didn’t know what to expect, but found a lovely art gallery and a wine bar with a small, but nice menu. We just got the cheese plate with our wine(Very reasonably priced!) but the people next to us had some great smelling pasta. We also ended up buying an art piece. The place is family run and they are all very friendly and helpful. Great vacation memory.
