I once held this place in high regard. Until I discovered that the bartenders are not paid a wage… at all. They work only for tips, which is entirely illegal. Also, the last time I was there I made the mistake of sitting on the bench seats and had not one, but two roaches scurry across my legs. ATTHESAMETIME! I will leave it at two stars, because although Lou doesn’t pay his employees, it is still a nice place for bands to play.

All clammy behind the clouds We examine humming eggs below the mud Take cover! The fun was arduous So luminous under the clouds We bend black flames among the bullshit Be luminous. The demon felt good Sinister and rabid on the virgin You condone colorful tongues before the air The day is fleeing shining grieving out of control a trace of sadness At how many harbours my forebears asked their way wondering why

I did have an amazing time at open mic. I didn’t spend much money. I did meet some really interesting people. I didn’t feel safe. I did find everything extremely genuine. I didn’t stay longer than I had to. This place is an experience. Don’t go here if you want to have a «normal» night out, otherwise, go.

As a dive bar, it had everything i would expect and more. Smoke in the air, random mishmash of seating, painted black… Gaint mural of random portraits, tiny bar guarding refrigerators in the back… Everything. Even a jukebox to fill the awkward time between bands, because if we are being honest, we know this is a place you only come to when already drunk or to see a friend play in a band. It is awesome that places like this exist to give new local bands a place to play and remind us that we never have to leave college behind us.

This little dive bar makes you feel like you’re hanging out in a friend’s basement in high school. The sound is decent and there is adequate area for some dancing. As it is rather cramped, on busier nights I can imagine that seating and dance room would be quite limited. Nevertheless, this is a nice little bar to go check out some local music and artists.

All I have to say about uncle Lous is that a homeless man fell on me, the bathroom has no door knob, and the hipsters almost launched a revolt when they ran out of PBR great people watching and if you are up for an adventure don’t be afraid. If you are looking for a «bar» that actually sells four Loko this is the place for you !

Okay right off the bat, «Entertainment Hall» is a huge stretch. This tiny«no-frills» bar in a strip plaza on Mills Ave, down the street from Peacock Room and across the way from Wally’s. They used to be located on Michigan near Delaney, but it seemed to be a failed location after only a few months. The décor is like a confused teenager’s bedroom. Cheap lighting, weird mix of music posters(from the clearance rack at Spencer’s?) haphazardly taped to the walls, junky pool table… You get the idea. Not much seating. A couple seats at the bar and one table if I recall. People tend to go there to see a band. They do have shows regularly, with a focus on punk it seems. The sound is not good in there. There’s a TV showing sports most of the times I’ve been here, and the bartender/owner(Lou) is usually wearing large headphones so he doesn’t have to hear the live bands(or the chatter of bar patrons?). With so many other bars in the vicinity, it’s hard to understand how this place stays in business. I’m still not sure what their niche is, other than serving lowbrow beers and booking punk bands. 2 stars because if you go here you aren’t expecting much anyway…

Tiny little dive bar – the room is literally 30 feet on a side, and the pool table is not helping with the space situation. All the same, good cheap beer($ 2 domestics, $ 3 imports) including such classics as PBR, Colt 45 and Schlitz! I come here for the kickin’ rockabilly trio that plays Thursday nights, but I don’t know that I’d stop it otherwise. Wally’s, across the street, is a bit more approachable dive.
