A bit tiny, but very worth it. Let me be clear, the only reason why I am giving it 4 stars is because of the space. The rest is perfect. Exotic looking bar with a goth-like western kind of look(Kind of like a circus act freak show). Their main bartender is a trip, very fun to talk to and gets the ambience going. He encourages everybody there to talk and have fun together. He kind of reminds me of the fun and crazy Russell Brand. Last, but not least, their apple pie moonshine. Jeez! be careful… it tastes light and sweet but it is not!!! So worth it though! Can’t wait to go again.

A couple of years ago a friend of mine was out drinking in downtown Orlando and came back to Daytona talking about this amazing apple pie moonshine she tried there, best she’s ever had. I always forgot to ask her the name of the place, until a couple of months ago, when she remembered about it and told me it was the Hen House. The first time I went to the Hen House, of course I had to get the apple pie moonshine, and sure enough it was the best thing since sliced bread. The bar is very small, but that’s what makes it so good. The décor is a sort of bordello style, with sparkly bras hanging around the place(which are custom made locally, ask the bartender if you want one), a couple of golden heels, and all around, a very pleasing atmosphere. They do allow smoking, but the place has some wide double doors that remain open during operations, so it doesn’t get smoky in there. They also happen to have a unisex restroom in the back, which was quite a surprise due to the size of the place. I’ve been back to the Hen House since, it truly is my favorite place in Wall street, as it doesn’t match the other places. Every time I get the apple pie moonshine, but I have also tried some of their beers and cocktails. They keep rotating the beers they get(craft and domestic), and have a pretty decent selection of bottles. The bartenders will also make you pretty much any cocktail you want, and are very good about suggesting drinks. Again, this place doesn’t fit the general vibe of Wall street, and that is why I love it. No pretentiousness, no crazy kids, just a cool chill place to have some good drinks.

This is a must top when we are bar crawling around downtown Orlando. It is a really small establishment and I wouldn’t recommend it if you are in a big group. They have the best Apple Pie Moonshine; and it is usually the perfect way to start our night. There’s only one bartender and he’s always there. He’s pretty nice and likes to read tarot cards to whoever ask for it. He always plays great music; and you can request any song if you’re in a certain mood. The place is really laid back and cozy. They have a small selection of beers but usually whatever’s on tap is pretty good. The location is kinda hidden; it’s basically next to the subway in front of Wall St. Plaza.

Nice quaint little spot to drop by and try some moonshine shots. Friendly bartenders, good bathroom and fun and tasty shots like Apple Pie.

Probably my favorite bar to hit up, and usually the last one I go to for the night. The décor is pretty awesome. The bartender is always cute, friendly, and mixing up delicious drinks. It’s a very small bar, which I actually like — it’s much cozier than everywhere else at Wall St.

The décor and atmosphere at Hen House is great. A small burlesque type location to hang with friends. Unfortunately, the night I came here was a disaster. The bar tender told me and my friend that we look like«assholes» even though we hardly spoke to her. The bartender’s friend was at be bar and came up to me threatened to beat me up because I picked up a cup that I dropped. The bartender even instructed me to pick up the cup. This place is a disaster. Drunken bar tender calling us dicks? No thanks

Unfortunately, when I visited The Hen House, I was DD. Sigh. HOWEVER– I did indulge in a slurp of Apple Pie Moonshine and OHMY. Go to this place if not for the burlesque pirate-ship atmosphere — then for the moonshine. It’s tiny– maybe 6 – 8 barstools total and no tables. The bartender was super cool and chatty and on top of things. They have a few different beers on tap and a few more craft brews in bottles but not a super impressive selection. Seriously– go for the moonshine. I’ll be returning when I can get properly hammered.

Pleasant little surprise to be found at the Hen House. I was beckoned in by the sign stating — «Five types of moonshine, one hot bartender.» Seriously, I had to check it out. This place is literally a hole-in-the-wall. One little bar in the center that almost runs the length of the tiny room. There’s a jukebox-music thingy in one corner, and that’s pretty much it. The décor is fun, the atmosphere is cool. The bartender was actually very good looking and quite funny. He kept the drinks coming, made some jokes, and kept us amused. He recommended the Apple Pie Moonshine as well as the Strawberry. Both were excellent. VERY strong… but very good. Drinks were reasonably priced and they had a pretty good bar selection on top of the moonshine. Great place to slip in and grab a few drinks. I was there on a Wednesday so it was pretty quiet, but I can imagine it could get very crowded at other times.

I was here for the first time for about an hour this past Sat. night(4⁄28), just hours after my sister got married and the following reception had ended. To be honest, I didn’t even know it existed; I don’t really hang out on or around Wall St. all that much, or at least not as much as I did in the past. My sister, her husband, my father, some of the new couple’s friends and my uncle were here for a while. I didn’t think I’d have fun, but I did. I’ll have to go back at least once more so that I can pay more attention, but this place seemed pretty cool during my initial visit. There appears to be a rather impressive selection of beer here, which always is a plus. This is highlighted(to me, anyway) by the available bottles of Anchor Steam, which is one of my favorite beers. I’ve had a tough time tracking this down in the Orlando area, so it was a pleasant surprise to see it offered on The Hen House’s menu. It is just as good as I remember it. The servers seemed to be very nice. I had a Southern Comfort with lime on ice to start off, which was very good and perhaps less expensive than I was expecting.(Another pleasant surprise!) I then switched to Anchor Steam and had two bottles of that. I think that those were $ 5 apiece, which isn’t ideal but isn’t all that bad, either. I think that my uncle paid for one of them, so I shouldn’t be complaining, really. Not that I was to begin with, because I had a good time and the drink/beers were awesome. I hope to come back here sometime soon for some more Anchor Steams and perhaps more. My sister’s husband gave me some free drink tokens for The Hen House(he’s connected!), so I am likely to return sooner rather than later. Perhaps I’ll update/enhance this review after my next visit. This concludes my 300th Unilocal review … wow, time flies!
