Steak ‘n Shake

Every review that I read before I came to this location today was exactly wrong. I only read the negative reviews to see what I’m getting myself into. We were seated right away, the place was clean, our waitress came right over and took our order and our food was scrumptious and delicious. I’ve decided that all the other people that wrote negative reviews for this location are doing so to keep people from coming to this location because they don’t want the word to get out that this low prices place is great.

Good food. Steak burgers and shakes are good. Meals for under 4 dollars. None the wiser, when you bring it to hungry kids. Alex, who works there is a neighbor at our resort and is an employee who works at S&S. Thanks for the referral Alex.

I love the Frisco sandwich, I add lettuce on it with sea salt fries and one of their famous milkshakes and it always hits the spot. Its a typical steak and shake which is great and its family friendly.

Ugh, this location has really gone downhill. I’ve always enjoyed Steak N Shake but this trip was abysmal.
I stopped in for food one night on the way home from an Orlando City game so while it was not early by any means this was not the typical 3am visit. The place was a disaster. I actually counted how many tables had not been cleared… Seven tables had piles of leftover food, drinks, and trash piled on them, which actually grossed me out more than it should have. To add to the gross factor the floor looked as if it hasn’t been cleaned since the place opened its doors years ago. It was disgusting. As for the food my burger was fine but my boyfriend could barely swallow his frisco melt… and for days after swore his stomach still hurt from said melt.
I’m not swearing off all Steak n Shake in the future but definitely swearing off this location forever.

Let’s start with the taco salad… fresh ingredients, lettuce was green and crisp, per my friend who ate it. Meat was abundant on top and just enough ranch dressing. My daughter had the kids steakburger and fries. She liked it. No complaints. I, on the other hand, had the 3 way chili plate and a side of cheese fries. If you look at the photo, the chili plate was not too presentable. Just looked like spaghetti with chili sloughed on top. Taste was moderate. I expected it hotter, and by that I mean warmer. It was not cold, but I wanted to see steam coming off my plate and that did not happen. I also like spicy, so I asked for some hot sauce. Now, on to the cheese fries. I also expected these hot and greasy with cheese drizzled on top. The fries were room temp and the cheese was acceptable. Next time, I am going to have to ask for my fries and my chili hot. Shakes were good — no complaints on them.

I absolutely love Steak and Shake!!! Ever time I go I get a burger, usually the Jerk burger. Always so spicy and so good, just the way I love my burgers! There Nutella shake is to die for serious ya’ll go now and but one!!! Over all super good food for what you’re paying for I recommend (:

I stopped in here for coffee and was not planning on blogging about today BUT… While sitting at the counter having coffee I observed something that was worth sharing…
The Manager was working the register and I was talking to him about the power being out and why I stopped in for coffee. He inadvertently shortchanged a customer while cashing her out. After she noticed the error she returned and after counting down the drawer, it was found that an error was made. He owned up to it and immediately apologized for the error. Additionally she was given some coupons that will save her over $ 10.
She and I were talking while she was waiting for the drawer to be counted and then after he handled the situation. She was also very pleased with how the manager handled the situation and left here a very happy person. I have said a million times that anybody can sell you a widget but it is the service after the fact that will keep people coming back. We all make mistakes and her and I BOTH agree this young man just stepped up to the plate and with no excuses turned a frown upside down…
That is why I love this place…

It is still a burger joint so let’s remember that. Ur food is made to order so while they can be a lil slow it’s usually always fresh. Greasy greasy greasy thou but whatever spoil urself once or twice. If nothing grab a shake. Has to be a top 5 shake I’m sure. Idk oh and open late.

Go for the Summer Milkshake Happy Hour!
The restaurant itself is very busy, and lacking in attentive staff. Waited a good 10 min before being greeted and another 10 before being seated although the restaurant was only half full. The majority of the empty tables had not been bussed. Floor needs a good stream cleaning.
We had the mini sliders and parmesan cheese fries, double steakburger and regular fries, and a grilled cheese. All burgers were delicious. Parmesan cheese fries were Ok, it was just a seasoned salt shaked on. The grilled cheese was not melted.
The halfprice milkshake happyhour is a greatdeal! Our selections were the full size cookies and cream (DELICIOUS!), However the Caramel turtle shake was disappointing. ¹⁄₃ of the bottom of the cup was chocolate syrup and caramel. Not sure if it just wasn’t thoroughly mixed, but we only sipped a third of the shake and the away the rest.
We will definitely return for the Milkshake Happy hour, cookies and cream was the winner!

It’s a chain. So it’s supposed to be held at a certain standard. And whatever the standard is for Steak and Shake, they either meet it or exceed it. And that’s a really good thing.
I won’t get into Steak and Shakes menu or any of that because you either like the chain or you don’t. If you got though the drive through, you’ll be served more than twice as fast. And the people who work their have a sense of humor which makes interaction with their staff pretty fun.
If you had to go to steak and shake, I’d recommend going to this one.

Great service tonite. Kid friendly. Very efficient staff. Food was tasty, shakes were great. I Suggest Ordering A Junior Shake Which Is a smaller size. Very inexpensive kids menus, with a variety. This location is busy and they are staffed for it.

This is one of my favorite restaurants to take the kids. They never complain about the food and I always find something for myself. A 4-​person meal is less than $ 15! And I never go without a coupon.

Great place, always readily available, its 24 hours, gives a real diner feel. The waiters here are always very friendly and nice and the food and drinks are served very quickly. Great for groups and friends, especially late at night runs when there’s nothing else open.

Went there after spending nearly 16 hours in Disney World, glad this joint is open 24 hours! I’ve never been to one before, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I got a Chicago styled hot dog and it was super long, I could not even finish it! It was a tad bit salty though. I also ordered some fries which were nothing to write home about.
All in all it hit the spot for me after a long day, the waitress was super nice so that made the trip even better!

Always good at this location. Servers are always nice and efficient.
Prices are good in the first place but having coupons seems to make things taste better.
I’ve never had a bad lunch here. This is my first breakfast. The skillet was overflowing and cooked the way I requested. Eggs over easy.
A great quick meal if you’re in a rush or just get tired of Colonial Drive traffic.

easy peasy. order at the table, pay at the register.
food comes out quick, the fries are awesome, and there was plenty to keep my 3yo occupied.

Quick, cheap and decent food. Breakfast menu is available. To date, this location hasn’t disappointed me.
I generally frequency Steak n Shake for the shakes — the Half-​priced Shakes Happy Hour is 2 p.m. — 4 p.m.

Noisy, hit or miss service, average food; sort of what you’d expect from Steak and Shake. I have to admit though; I enjoyed my taco salad a lot more than I thought I would. Sweet tea is only $ 1! It’s a good place to come hang out when you’re broke or want a laid back environment.

Live right around the corner and this Steak ‘n Shake always has speedy service, especially though the drive though. The people are also very friendly for it being fast food.

If their shakes weren’t so good I’d burn these places down. the wait to be served is unbelievably long. Homer could have written the Iliad in the amount of time it takes to get a glass of water.
Not to mention how hit or miss the food is. It’s like playing roulette with your stomach. Am I gonna lose this in a hour? Who knows! Fun game.
It is hilarious, however, to watch the servers argue over who’s gonna get what table and lose their shit completely when there’s four tables seated at once.
