JR Electronics did right by me! I brought my 50″ Panasonic TV to Joseph and he fixed it quickly. He would have come to my home but I already had the TV loaded in the back of my SUV. I dropped my TV off with Joseph and he provided an estimate. He said, I should have it repaired by the net day! The following day, right on time, Joseph called to say the TV was fixed and the provided the cost of the repair. The cost was right in line with the estimate. I picked up my TV and it’s working great! Thanks Joseph!

What I witnessed from JR and his pseudo garage-run business, was that of an advantageous and unprincipled owner. I decided to check out this shop since I needed a basic($ 3) relay re-soldered onto a basic PCB board for an automobile I was repairing. Had just moved to Orlando, and didn’t know of any reputable electronic shops or tv repair people in this town. Decided to go with JR due to his reviews and praise. I couldn’t have been more wrong. I found the store front to be literally inside of a flea market, along the trashy, Brazilian, International Drive corridor. I really should have known better before doing business with this clown. I waited for him nearly 2.5 hours despite repeated reassurance from him on the phone, since we had agreed on a meeting time which he never showed up for. I was too necessitated and short on time that afternoon and regrettably left the board and relay with him once he arrived, only to come back a few hours later and have him quote me a ridiculous $ 75 for a basic re-soldering job. He insisted that it was a special board, special relay, and special soldering job. Really. Special relay? A $ 3 relay I had purchased on Ebay? Special soldering job. Really? You used a basic soldering iron which I have done and would’ve done myself, but didn’t have any gear or equipment with me in this city at the time. Special board. Again Really? It was a typical double-sided silicon PCB board that any car after 1995 will have. This clown has probably repaired 30 year old radios that were more complicated than the basic work I had contracted him for. Literally a child with a steady hand could have done this in a few minutes. When I asked him how long it took him to do? He said less than 5 minutes. I asked why he was billing me for more than his typical hourly labor rate, which was already absurdly high for this kind of job at $ 65. Even then, I would’ve understood since some technicians will only work for a minimum hour base rate regardless of the job. He never said anything like this at the beginning and seemed to be very negotiable in that we could work it out since even he realized how simple it was what I was asking him to do, and didn’t give me a definitive price. This all changed when I returned to pick up the board. He conveniently replied that there was a $ 10 surcharge over the $ 65 for giving my job priority over others since I had come in that same day. How convenient of you JR to disclose all of this to me, AFTER you had done the work. Joseph is a dishonest and sleazy individual that appears to rob customers of what they have for substandard work. This identical job never ran me more than $ 20(being pricey) at any given moment. Please stay away.
