Sad face. They will be closing by end of month after 12 years. The last two brunches should be a(packed) trip of memories. Their very last day I think is also their last disco brunch. Let’s all buy candles and pay respects to Thornton Park’s original. I don’t understand it and PRAY a chain doesn’t go in on that super hot corner. We ate there there last Thursday and it was pretty busy so I don’t understand this, but alas — things change. RIPHUE.

We ventured here before my flight out to enjoy brunch, and a Bloody Mary, a craving I had all weekend. The Bloody Mary bar, allowing you to add in your own unique treats and spices was a plus. We ordered the eggs Benedict and spring salad with shrimp. The food was ok, nothing amazing. However, the most disappointing point of the experience was the service, very slow, and the music was so loud it felt like a Saturday night at a bar… a little annoying at 11:00 in the morning.

This was the best place I ate at in Orlando when I was there for work a few weeks ago. I was pouring rain and the staff was so nice and apologetic(like the weather was their fault). They even let us leave out there back door when we were done so we didn’t have to go back out into the rain. Plus the waitress let my co-worker use her iPhone charger because his cell was dead! My co-workers and I decided to try all the small plates on the menu. So it was the first time I got to try escargot and beef tartar. I was pleasantly surprised by the escargot — it came in an amazing sauce! The beef tartar was not my favorite but since it was the first time I tried it I just don’t think I’ve developed a palate for it yet. My other favorite was the calamari. I’ll definitely be back to Hue the next time I am in Orlando!

Been here quite a few times now for Sunday brunch and WOWZA! Super good! The wait can be long if you want to sit outside, but the cool thing is they will get your phone number and call you when a table is ready. You can take a nice walk around the lake Eola Farmers Market while you wait. Mimosa’s on special on Sundays is a ++++ They do single or Double Mimosas. Menu is ever changing but for the better! a MUST try is the Chicken & Waffles! Veggie Scramble is also great and you can add turkey(deli meat) for some extra protein. I also tried a chicken sandwhich once but can not remember the name!

Food: delicious food, but a little overpriced for what it is. Atmosphere: beautiful place, love to sit outside. Right in the corner so lots of people watching. Perfect for a first date. Waitstaff: Not the fastest or most attentive. But friendly enough.

Hue visited Hue recently with a friend and have to say it isnt what it use to be, food quality was poor, service wasnt that great, and price was to high. its very sad for me to say this because down town needs more restaurants and less bars !! Why can’t I delete old reviews? This place is closed.

Went to Hue for Magical Dinning month in Orlando. It was a limited menu but what was on there was excellent. I also had a couple of cocktails. My favorite seasonal on was the pumpkin inspired margarita with agave nectar. The rim of the glass was powdered with cinnamon and sugar. The appetizer was awesome, the bistro pizza. The balsamic reduction pulled all the flavors together, the Gouda bechamel was beyond good, and the truffle oil just put it over the top. For entrée I had the hanger steak which was beautifully charred on the outside and pink and juicy at the center. The accompaniments only elevated the steak and added layers of flavor. For dessert that day they had a variety of sorbets that were really good but nothing too spectacular, I wish they would have had more choices didn’t feel like icecream that day. Will definitely dine here again.

Perfect place for a date night. I was a little apprehensive about the place at first, but we sat down and the waitress was so friendly, dim lighting and good food. I couldn’t decide on what wine I wanted so she let me taste three options before choosing. The food was good, not so good I have to come back a ton more for the food which is why I’m not giving it 5 stars. Overall, had a great time and would recommend this place for anyone who wants to have a nice dinner out.

Euphoric pork chop experience! You mean, I’ve been neglecting ordering a pork chop all these years. Well, I blame my mother; what else is new. Absolutely delicious. Really dig this place. The worst part was trying to decide what not to order from the dinner menu… and the drink menu. Here’s the skinny: bistro pizza — the perfect start! Of course, gouda, portabella mushrooms, and some truffle oil always do seem to get along quite well, not to mention arugula and onions! golden lobster bisque — if you make it, I will try it. Very, very good. Although, my favorite is still at Splash in Lutz, FL pork ribeye — off the charts. Ordered it medium, as it should be. Enough with this over cooking pork idea. Oh, you like you’re meat dry and tasteless, then don’t order this. Came with ratatouille, parmesan pearl pasta, and pancetta. One of those dishes you will crave over and over again. Caribbean Spice Cocktail(or something named like that) — a little apple cider, a little orange juice, and some ginger ale. Nearly duplicated it perfectly at home. Great stuff. On the pricey side, but it’s worth it.

Just liked the fried oysters. Everything else didn’t think was great: the hanger steak, the lobster bisque and the chocolate soufflé. All these were lacking a flavor punch to them.

this place was in an amazing location! i took my boyfriend here for a lunch date so we decided to sit out in the patio. the service was amazing. we ordered drinks to go along with our lunch, but we found out 1 of them had watermelon(which my boyfriend is allergic to) in it as it was not mentioned on the list of ingredients. the waiter kindly had the bartender remake the drink, but what was funny was when they brought out his salad there were tons of watermelon in that. other than that, we both enjoyed our meals. we got the tuna tartare & calamari for appetizers, BOTH were amazing! i got the turkey reuben, which was delicious and my boyfriend got the salad(i forgot which it was called). overall it was a pleasant experience & will definitely be returning the next time i’m back in orlando(:

Fellow Unilocalers, Having driven by this establishment on several occasions and dined in nearby restaurants, this place was just calling my name. Ergo, this past weekend I ‘Pepé Le Pew’ed’ my way there. The interior is fairly nice and bigger than what one would expect from the outside. A surprising hallway with some small yet intimate tables line the walls which lead into a high ceiling dining room that provides some privacy from the drunken acoustics coming from the main bar and dining area. Dimly lit, this somewhat secluded dining room reeks of romantic dinner date. The exterior is a great spot during the Winter season. During the Summer it is a different story though. Unless you are one who enjoys sporting awesome pit stains, I’d stick with indoor dining. One can park rather close to it at the Lofts garage for a cool 5 bucks. A small stroll will lead you here, so with regard to convenience, you cannot beat it. The server was very attentive and courteous. No complaints about the service. The menu is neither too big nor too small. It is just the right size and provides the diner with just the right amount of options without needing a Garmin unit to find your way to their seafood section. No appetizers were had, but a nice basket of bread is brought out for your enjoyment. It looks very well put together, but since I engage in sacrilege by rarely consuming bread and pasta, I cannot comment on the taste. I ordered the Honey Glazed Pork Rib-eye(See my photo). The cut was very tasty and the side of bacon, a small salad and sweet mash was also very good. I would highly recommend this dish as a happy medium between their steak and seafood options. The portion was nothing huge, but enough to fill me up for the night. Overall, I highly recommend this place. Hue would have thought that I have been missing out on such a great joint for so long?! See ya!

Very nice restaurant right by Lake Eola in Downtown Orlando. The place is beautiful, with indoor and outdoor sitting, very clean, and staffed with what seemed to be very nice people. The place is pretty pricey, though. In terms of the food, the tuna tartare was delicious with a fruity & sweet, yet savory garnish that made it that much better. We also had some kind of meat. I can’t remember exactly what, but it was good. The STAR of the night though, was the lobster bisque!!! Holly COW! Their lobster bisque has got to be the BEST I’ve ever tasted! Creamy, sweet, buttery, with lobster chunks… just amazing! I wish they had it as a meal and not as little soup appetizer! I can’t wait to go back for it!

What has not been written about this restaurant? Or should I ask, which publication has not showered this restaurant with their coveted titles? Since its opening, I am going to venture out and say that if a restaurant related publication did not do an article on this place they were not with the in crowd. It is then safe to say that all of Hue’s kitchen sink is public knowledge. If memory, oh let me go do some reading, serves me right Hue opened with such grandeur and panache that it was the place to be and be seen. This was a destination restaurant before Thornton Park was, well Thornton Park. The revitalization of this area of downtown was balanced on the shoulders of Hue. It is now the Don Corleone of all the little splatterings coming up. With its very forward and modernist décor, Hue captivated and lured the whos of who from all over the place. The old adage location, location, location comes to mind. Have you actually been here? It is located smack dab in the middle of the world, oh Thornton Park. The large patio is ideal for people watching, or is it for people watchers? Although, several times that I’ve pretended to be the in crowd, there was always a homeless person trying to get something or offer something that was not on the menu, if you get my drift. The back room is majestic or at least the very high ceilings and grand wall art makes the small floor space seem large. Although tables are rather closely bunched, there is still a sense of space and comfort. Along the half circled bar many a star power figure have leaned. I remember sometime back when I lived downtown, I would walk by here just to get a glimpse of the pretty people. Oh and the eye candy was worth it. Hue, named after a fishing village in Vietnam, opened with a menu leaning towards its name, Asian. Fast forward today and the menu has made a turn towards modern American. Gone are all the Asian spices and references. Spring rolls and soy sauce based dressings are ancient history. Enter a fresh modern approach to the Orlando dining scene of «Eat Drink and Be Local». They even go so far as to put this slogan on their wine glasses. That is some serious commitment. Basket of Fresh Bread — Various different textures and tastes all encompassing a good hearthy start. Lobster Bisque — Creamy and rich. Tiny bits of lobster was a nice touch. Duck a la Orange Sandwich — Tender slices of duck meat, with a well balanced orange sauce between rustic slices of bread. Bread was a little on the softer side for a sandwich but this combination did not last long on the plate. Tip: Eat fast or your dining companion will grab a piece. Tuna Two Ways — Seared Tuna was nicely done with a slightly sweet sauce, Tuna Tartare was a combination of balanced flavors, Greens were crisp and fresh. Nice dish. White Knight Viognier — Crisp, citrus flavors, with great grassy nose and a slightly lingering finish. Great alternative to Chardonay, very food friendly. Restaurants that can look ahead and foresee that in order to keep up with trends they need to embrace change will always be one step ahead of their peers. Hue has taken that leap and have done it well. There will be pretty people watching and great food grazing for years to come.

The hip ambiance, beautiful people suavely dressed, fun patio, ideal location, and good food earns Hue as a ‘Hot Spot’. Drop in for brunch after a refreshing stroll around the Park; bring your date for a romantic night out. Whether it is a celebration or just because — do add Hue to your dining list. Note: If you are Jazz lover, Hue offers Thursday nights Jazz in the Patio and live music with Sunday Brunch too. Urban Life Management Restaurant Group also owns two more restaurants in the down town area — Cityfish and Citrus. I am certainly looking forward to trying both, hopefully soon.

My fiancée and I heard many great things. And I must say that I really enjoyed everything! We had the tuna tataki, mozz pesto pizza(which was amazing!), and the shrimp and octopus ceviche which was good but slacked on the shrimp and octopus unless my fiancée ate most of it without me which might have been the case bc he loves ceviche. For dinner I had the crab bisque which was good. And the fresh garden salad with spinach, cranberries, feta, pumpkin seeds, and pear OMG heaven! So good! He had the ribeye which he said lacked flavor. I had a bite and thought it was fantastic! It was tender and juicy, he ordered it medium rare and it came out medium. But still it was good. And the pumpkin cocktail was amazing made with spiced rum. Very good! I would recommend this place. The atmosphere was great, friendly service, and good food.

During my last visit to Orlando(back in August), I found myself here with my best friend and another friend. Ironically, it was several years prior(maybe 5 ish?) that we were at this same location eating together(the 3 of us). We came for lunch and decided to share everything we ordered: chop salad, lobster bisque, tuna tartare and [I’m pretty sure it was] twin filets. My best friend ordered me a Splash(it was a new drink they had recently placed on their menu) which was nice and light to have with lunch. Now I don’t have as a refined palate as my best friend. To me, if it tastes good it’s good. Although, I can definitely tell if something is too salty. My friends are more critical about details when it comes to quality of food. Therefore, below are some comments that I vaguely remember from them with mine in parenthesis: — tuna tartare: mixed quality of fish, as in not the best parts of the fish(I don’t remember this being anything to rave about especially with the flavor being a bit bland — I remember saying my favorite part of it was the avocado) — chop salad: the parmesan croûton-like pieces were stale and chewy — lobster bisque: very rich/heavy(mmm buttery goodness) — twin filets: the green vegetable component(broccoli raab?) was a bit on the bitter side Overall, I think our experience was just OK. Location and décor is nice. Our server was friendly and informative, however we never got offered bread that I saw other people receive(do we have to ask for it?).

I’m kind of shocked the place only has 3.5 stars. I know that is still good, but I’m giving this a 5 to hopefully help their average. I went with a group of 9 for my graduation. I made reservations a little less than a week in advance and got in with no problem. They called me the day of to confirm the reservation. We ended up getting their a half hour early expecting to get a drink at the bar. But our table was ready and they let us sit down. We had a few people who arrived late and that wasn’t an issue at all. Our server, Paul, was awesome. He was helpful in answering our menu questions and had a great sense of humor. We gave him a hard time about wanting our leftovers in the shape of a swan and he joked with us that he could only do a giraffe. Everyone enjoyed their food. I had the shrimp and scallop pasta. I sampled a bite of the salmon(great), the steak(good), the lamb(tasty). Dessert was good too. I got the soufflé. My roommate got the carrot cake which was the biggest slice ever. We had the fresh berries dessert as well. I really enjoyed this place.

Hue had me at hello. Went on a Sunday at 1ish for a delicious brunch. Originally was going to head to Dexter’s in Thornton Park, but from the street, Hue caught our attention. Beautiful day+outdoor seating+SundayFunday=duh…come here! Artwork on the walls, high ceilings giving that lofty feel, dark furniture and ultra comfey chairs on the interior. Disco/70s music filled the restaurant along with tons of natural sunlight. Food. Mine was delish! Earth Wind and Fire scramble. Andouille sausage, cilantro, caramelized onions, and gouda was fantastic. Extra points for the caramelized onions! So sweet and amazing. Drop a star for my glass being cracked and having to have it replaced… which could happen anywhere… but should have been prevented. Drop another star for my bff Ashleys entrée. She ordered the burger and it was completely raw in the middle when it hit the table. When we sent it back, the manager came out to talk to us and turned what could have been bad around. Overall…ill be going back again. Next time for dinner. Gotta keep seeing what this beautiful city has to offer!

I had dinner here last night with my family. It’s a nice atmosphere… modern, pretty comfortable. We were seated immediately on a Friday night, so that was nice. I had a nice glass of wine to start, and we all ordered different dishes. I had the pork chop, which was juicy and delicious, served with an Asian BBQ sauce. It came with mashed potatoes and veggies. My family all enjoyed different fish entrees, which they said were great. The best part was the chocolate soufflé. We all had some, and it came with a crème anglaise that was to die for. It was so scrumptious that the people at the table next to us smelled it and asked what we were having. Get it! You won’t be sorry. I’m torn over how to rate this because it was pretty great, but also expensive, and it’s not a place that I’d beg to go back to again. I enjoyed it, but it didn’t light my world on fire. I’d give it a 3.5 if I could overall, but a 4+ for food. 5 for the soufflé! :)
