If you’re within the area of John Young Parkway and OBT, make a stop at the Citgo gas station and in a little trailer you will find an awesome taco truck, or should I say trailer? :P I stopped by here to pick up lunch and the line was definitely growing, and I always believe that if there’s a line, it must mean that the food IS good. Make sure you have cash(read my tips) I mean $ 1 for tacos and quesadilla’s, where else are you going to find that?! The food comes out pretty quick, but if you’re going to order 20+ tacos, I would suggest you call ahead so you don’t wait for it. I tried the asada tacos and they were cooked and seasoned really nice and I liked that they did not double up on the tortilla and just kept it to once piece. All the tacos are topped with onions and cilantro, they also have sautéed onions and radishes placed on a counter with the napkins and other sauces they serve. BEWARNED, their red and green sauce is SPICY! I only put a dot of each on my taco’s and my lips literally felt numb. I’ll stick to just squeezing a lime :) Overall this is a pretty good spot to get taco’s and I mean you can’t beat the price!

I found out about this place while I was getting gas. I smelled something fantabulous and my nose led me to this truck. I have been coming here ever since. I have one more reason to look forward to the weekend. Trust me when I say the food is AUTHENTIC and DELICIOUS. This is real Mexican street food and for only a buck a pop way worth any drive you might have to make. Thankfully I live practically down the street :-)

This truck is the real deal. Nothing fancy or high brow — just good street food. The corn tortilla’s were fresh & the fillings were full of flavor. I tried three different tacos: carnitas(pork), lengua(tongue) and chorizo(mexican sausage). I had the equivalent of «the works» on mine so each tasty morsel of a taco came with some chopped onions, cilantro, cheese and mexican cream(think a looser sour cream). The carnita’s were juicy, porky goodness, the chorizo was full of flavorful spices and the lengua was nice tender. I took one of the radishes to add to my tacos but realized once I got back in the car that I had no way to cut it up. So I munched on it separately. There are two condiment bottles out for you to add sauce to your tacos(or quesadillas) One looks like a ketchup bottle — the other is a translucent bottle through which you can see a green sauce. FYI — both of these are salsa/hot sauces. The red bottle isn’t ketchup. I tried the green sauce. It has quite a nice kick to it. My mouth was tingling for at least 15 minutes after I was through eating. So be careful — this is messy, finger licking food. If you use the hot sauce(especially the green sauce) don’t inadvertently go wiping your eyes(or other sensitive parts) until after you wash your hands. I’m just saying. Yowza! The hours listed on here say they are just open from 5pm-8pm but we went at lunchtime on a Friday and they were open. At $ 1 a pop you just can’t beat this place. We will definitely add this to our rotation. Next time I’l try a quesadilla too.

Bona fide Mexican tacos and quesadillas are being served up by this food truck. The tacos are unequivocally the best I’ve had in Orlando! The ones I had over at El Sabor De La Vida were superb and I didn’t think I could find any better, but here I was at El Taco Loco getting an even greater taco high. The tacos are smaller than what you’re likely used to, about 4 inches in length, but they’re only a dollar and are PACKED with authentic flavors. You may choose steak, chicken, pork, sausage or beef tongue tacos. They come with your choice of cheese, onion, fresh cilantro, lime and they’ll ask if you’d like crema(Mexican sour cream) on your taco as well. I love how they make genuine corn tortillas rather than flour tortillas. It gives the meal a more rustic texture and taste. If you’d like to add a bit of spice they also have traditional red salsa and salsa verde(the hotter of the two). They also have radishes for you to slice up and add to your taco. The radishes really do set the taco off on flavor, love them. For such a small taco, the flavors really do come through with a punch. Savory, not too spicy and the seasoning they use for each type of meat comes through very nicely. Your taste buds will be elated with delight. 4 – 5 tacos will fill surely satiate your tummy nicely. I ordered 3 tacos(pork, steak, beef tongue) and one chicken quesadilla. Now, this was the first time I’ve ever tried beef tongue in any way, shape or form. I can honestly say that it carried my favorite flavor of the three tacos! Although, they were ALL superb. The one quesadilla was also good. It didn’t have as much dimension and flavor as the tacos, but it was still delightfully melty and grilled. The tacos are so good here that El Taco Loco has ruined all other tacos that have come before. The staff was very friendly and I noticed they painstakingly keep their humble truck clean and efficient. If I have a taco craving, which I very often do, I’ll come here before going anywhere else.
