This place is a gem in the Orlando area. Great food, and the service was excellent also. I ended up eating here 2 days in a row. The food was very fresh and was seasoned perfectly. I would recommend the Halim and the Nehari if you really want to enjoy a great dish.

Waste of money, food is bad, lack of attention to instruction on spice level, stale ingredients, over fried paneer & under cooked lamb. I’m never going back to this place.

My husband and I were looking for authentic Indian cuisine when we first moved to the Orlando area. The food at New Punjab was absolutely delicious. We ordered the vegetable samosas and I had the chicken tikka masala. We also ordered the assorted nan basket. The portions were extremely large and the food was wonderful. We like our Indian food spicy and they didn’t go light on the spice like many places do. We will definitely be going back, and we absolutely recommend this restaurant.

We placed a to-go order for an aloo paratha, naan, paneer tikka masala and chicken biriyani. The food was pricey and taste very mediocre. The aloo paratha was just too hard to bite into with hardly any potato filling. Also we were charged 18% auto gratuity for take out. I had to call back and ask the owner to reverse the charge. Will never go back again.

In Orlando on business. Thought I’d try something other than the typical bar and grill. Wow! The service was excellent and so was the food. It was so good, I had to stop by one more time before leaving. Darbar is now on my list of restaurants to visit when in Orlando. Go for the mango lassi for a nice sweet treat at the end of your meal. Loved it. Not sure what to get? Ask the staff. They made great recommendations for me.

Good food. We tried the tava vegetables and a paneer dish with naam. Very tasty vegetables and paneer dish, naan was fresh and super soft. Staff is nice and friendly as well. We are out of towners and when we come back, we will definitely try this again.

Great service, decent food. I will begin by stating that I am not an expert on Indian Food. My husband and I decided to try this restaurant because I wanted to eat curry and after looking at their menu online we decided«what the heck let’s try it». I can honestly say we enjoyed the experience. We were seated immediately upon entering. Within a couple of minutes our server came by and was very helpful in answering our questions. He suggested the Onion Bhajia to start. It was good, but a little on the salty side. As a main course I had the Chicken Shakuti. It was very rich and flavorful. I could taste the coconut bits in it, but it did not make the curry sweet at all. My husband had the Bhuna Lamb and it was great. I must admit I liked his better so we ultimately ended up sharing his and taking the uneaten portion of my Shakuti home. The best hands down was the Kheema Lamb, which is Nan bread stuffed with lamb. It was fluffy, warm, and just plain delicious. The server was so nice, he packed our leftovers and even brought us a scoop of the homemade mango ice cream on the house! We definitely will be coming back!

Our waiter was extremely nice. He helped us find what lunch menu items we could veganize, as my bf and I do not eat meat of any kind nor dairy. He was knowledgeable of the ingredients and once when we got our food we didn’t feel like we were missing out on anything as far as quantity. Only negative was I wish there was more differentiation between levels of spice. Mild and medium were pretty much the same. And I wanted a little more of the main dish. Rice was plenty though! Price was good, and no we did not get auto tip charged 18% I’ve no clue where ppl are getting that.

I don’t even know where to begin as this place was just excellent on every level. I just got back from Darbar about a hour ago and knew I had to write a review to give this place the credit it deserves. Upon entry the staff greeted us and immediately saw to it that we were seated as well as having a high chair brought out for our baby. They were very friendly and it is was welcoming since they seemed sincere in their kindness. Our server, Mourad, was extremely helpful with advice and selection. He even surprised us with a little mango drink treat for the baby that we did not see coming. I was just shocked since it is not normal to receive this kind of service at most establishments. He was always on top of our drinks and never had us waiting for anything. Mourad was just all around excellent. To top all of the amazing customer service off, the food was just absolutely delicious. I had the keema mutter and my she had the Lamb Vindaloo. We also had samosa’s and naan. Not one of these items tasted bad and all of the dishes we ordered were absolutely delicious. Unfortunately she couldn’t finish her meal so we asked for a to go box. Mourad comes back not just with the box but a fresh batch of rice in the box to eat with the Vindaloo. Again, I was shocked. He literally gave us more food just to ensure that we would enjoy it as leftovers the next day. Mourad went above and beyond in his service to us and have made us customers for life. Great food and excellent customer service. You honestly can’t ask for more. I gave a 30% gratuity just to make a point of how impressed I was. All in all, highly recommended and I look forward to coming back when the little one can start eating real foods outright.

Everything we had was incredible… the butter chicken, the lamb chops… the garlic naan, everything. We came in late on a Sunday night, and there were NO customers. Our server assured us the food was really good, and that they were packed earlier in the night. With us coming in late, they also never made us feel uncomfortable. Sometimes people get an attitude when you come near closing. The service was top notch. Everyone we encountered was exceptional. Our server had a great grasp of the menu, and his recommendations were helpful. He was also so polite. He came off like a true servant. I can’t brag about him enough. I highly recommend this place. I was very impressed.

We had a great meal here the other night. In town doing the parks and it was so nice to have healthy food after all of the Disney food! The staff couldn’t have been nicer, even bringing a frozen treat for my wife on her birthday.

Came here with my family and some of our friends. Our friend called a few hours in advance and made a reservation for 9. When we got there on time they said«reservation gone». We sat separately. Got there at 8.30. Ordered food around 9. Got our food at 10.30. Left the restaurant at 11.15. The waiter was not helpful with any questions we asked about the food. He was curt and rude. He particularly didn’t like being asked questions by women. My sisters paneer dish was lacking in the paneer department. They sliced the paneer so thin and had maybe 6 pieces in the dish. It was so hard to find them. Gave this sham of a place one star because the reshmi chicken kabob appetizer was good and so was the keema mutter. Not worth the wait though.

My wife and I enjoy Indian food in our home town of San Diego. So We stopped in for a quick dinner in December of 2015, and were impressed with the food and service. This restaurant is very clean and the staff are very friendly and attentive. We tried a lamb and coconut curry that I forget the name of and we both loved it. I enjoy good food and my wife is very particular, so this place gets 5STARS.

My husband and I went here for dinner on a Saturday night. Mixed feelings about how to review it… we ordered the chicken Tikka masala, lamb korma, and garlic naan. The food was delicous. Problem was that portion was really small. We normally have a some leftovers at most Indian restaurants. Here, we could have probably ordered a third dish. Problem is that prices are not lower to reflect the small portion size… $ 16 for the entrees, $ 4.5 for 4 pieces of naan. Luckily, we had a groupon so we didn’t feel like we got completely ripped off. Overall service was good, but the restaurant itself was a bit rundown. Would only go back with a groupon due to portion size /prices.

This is the most crappy awful restaurant I have been ever. Took groupon for this and a huge mistake. The people are so cheap, they really don’t know the meaning of hospitality. They also happen to force 15% gratuity for their classy service. Food was okay not great definitely not worth the money you pay. The quantity is also small. And they charge you exorbitant amounts for things which are typically given for free in other Indian restaurants. On the whole it was a terrible experience and I would definitely not recommend this restaurant ever.

I am in LOVE! Let me tell ya why– everyone here is super excited and passionate about Indian food — you have questions and let them know what type of food you enjoy and they’ll choose the perfect dish… Price is kind of steep– but if you go expecting buffet prices — it’s not going to happen — although they have a lunch buffet at a great value– the attention to service and attitude of employees deserves 14 – 16 dollar entrees — the food is phenomenal — I like jalapeño spice so he suggested a 7 — all and all I felt like a king and I will be back anytime I’m in town.

Definitely a rip off. If you want good food but aren’t terribly hungry then this is the place for you! Came here for dinner while on a family trip in Orlando. We chose this place because the family was craving Indian food and it was only half a mile from our hotel. This restaurant is located next to a Marriott Hotel in a small shopping strip mall, so there is plenty of parking. Ambiance: Fairly laid back, casual restaurant. Definitely great to go to after visiting the parks all day as this is not a dressy place. The restaurant was clean, well air conditioned, and empty as we came around 9:30pm on a weekday night. Service: Very attentive waitstaff. Our drinks were constantly refilled without asking. The waiter was constantly present but not overbearing. Food came out fairly quickly. Staff could be a bit pompous but I’ll explain more about that later. Food: Pretty good food– I ordered the Chicken Kada Masala spicy and it was spicy but not up to par with the spice level I expected– still good nonetheless with PLENTY of gravy. My husband got the Gobi Manchuriam which was really good– I definitely recommend this dish if you like cauliflower. We also shared Palak Paneer with the table which was just meh… no real flavor to this dish. The naan was fresh and hot and perfect for dipping in the endless amount of gravy we had for each dish. Price: Looking at the menu, the prices seemed decent for the area; it’s about $ 16 for an entrée. Unfortunately the portions for each dish here included only about 4 – 5 small pieces of meat or vegetable. Definitely not good for sharing even for a family of two. Someone at our table happened to ask nicely, without any rudeness or sarcasm, why there were very few pieces of paneer(cheese) in one of the vegetarian dishes. One of the staff replied back, «Well that’s how WE do things HERE.» Wow, talk about snobby– this place is not a fancy 5 star restaurant with a master, award winning chef… no need to be so pretentious Darbar!!! Your defensiveness obviously states that you’ve heard other customers complain about your small portions before! Either do something about it or at least just smile and nod and acknowledge our disappointment. –ENDOFRANT– Sadly, we all left this restaurant feeling hungry and cheated… future Darbar customers, come at your own risk!

From the very begging service was excellent! Food was amazing as well! I had to chicken tikka Marsala and my wife had the navratan korma. Choose how hot your want it. I got mine medium and my wife got hers spicy, both were not overly spicy.

Pretty good food overall. Great service and we got our food very quickly. Staff was nice and friendly and went above and beyond to make sure everything was fine. I ordered the mix tandoori platter($ 26.95) came with naan, two lamb chops, some marinated chicken and shrimp in a sizzling platter. It was very good but the portion for $ 27 is not worth it. My friend ordered the eggplant platter which she said was very good. $ 13.95 it came with white rice. Food portions very small for the price. I would return here but I don’t think the prices are justified.

Not at all happy with service, staff or the food. Quantity wise the food is very less for each portion/plate, also taste wise its average. More so the amount for a dish in the menu was different than what we were charged in the bill(2 $ more than the menu amount). When we questioned about it, the manager said the bill amount is the correct one. Staff is very arrogant. Asked a simple question whether they charge for delivery to near by area? To that the staff answered, nothing in America is for free. Probably he has never got out of his restaurant in a long time! There are other good restaurants around… do not waste your money here!

Visited here with my wife and om, during our trip to Orlando. We were the first customers to enter the restaurant and it was overall clean. We ordered the chicken kabob, some kinda stuffed panner(tasted like malai kofta) and garlic naan. The food was good but the portions sizes were too small, especially the paneer dish. My mom felt like she had some good food after a while(guess she was hungry) and my wife enjoyed it too. They thought the portions were fine(they are poor eaters. lol). Overall good food but a but pricey.

Small lunch buffet for 9 $ with ok food, but friendly service. Came here in a weekend for their Sunday«brunch», consisting of salad, onion bhajia, rice, Chana masala, chicken tikka, biryani, goat curry, tandoori chicken and lamb seekh kebab, and peas and cheese dish. Served with Naan and on request papadum. Dessert was a choice of mango ice cream or kheer. First off, service is here is very friendly and welcoming and why it gets bumped a star. We came around 1:45(buffet ends at 2:30) and while they were still refilling some dishes; the bhajia and salad were not refilled, so maybe the food is a bit better here when it is earlier. The best of the dishes offered was the tandoori grilled chicken and lamb kebabs-all of which were very cooked very well. However, the rest of the dishes were just ok. They were actually almost good, but I found something that was just off by a bit. For instance the naan was nice and fluffy, but did not have any ghee to give it that nice buttery taste. The biryani was tasty, but the boned in chicken parts barely had any meat on them. The jasmine rice’s consistency was good, but lacked the typical aromatic taste. The same was for the rest of the dishes, which just had the one or two elements missing to make them«good». With just a little tweaking these guys can make this place into a legitimate 4 star review. May come back for another try, especially if I am in a mood for decent tandoori.
