The Alamoosook Lakeside Inn was the perfect venue for our wedding. We love the fall and got married in early October outside by the lake and it was beautiful! The grounds and the Inn are well-maintained, and has lots of great locations for photos. The food was fantastic and there was a good variety of options to select from. Gina, the innkeeper, was very helpful at every step of the process – from beginning to look at the property, answering questions, re-answering questions that we forgot the answers to, and overall just making us feel relaxed and comfortable with hosting our wedding there. She took the time to explain how the guests would flow from outside to inside, where specific tables would be placed, and how the entire day would look. The staff was super friendly and ensured that everything was as we wanted it. Overall, we were super impressed with how everything went on our big day, and we couldn’t imagine having it anywhere else!

We planned a 50th Wedding Anniversary Party for my parents at Alamoosook Lakeside Inn in August 2015 and we could not be happier with the location and the service we received. We had to plan the party long distance from New Jersey and booked the Inn sight unseen — with only the website pictures to guide us. The pictures and description on the Inn’s website were absolutely accurate and we were thrilled. Gina was beyond helpful in assisting us with planning the party and the food. She is a gracious host and her ability to steer us in the right direction and flexibility leading up to the party was much appreciated. We would not hesitate to book another event at Alamoosook Inn. All of our party guests raved about the facility, about the incredible grounds and lake, and about the food! There is absolutely nothing I can say negative about the Inn. Thank you for everything!!!

Driving down the remote dirt access road, we did not know what to expect. We pulled up to a full parking lot and beautiful vista of an island filled lake. Huge rocks rose up as if perfectly planned, a loon floated about, occasionally diving for his dinner. Our Hostess, Gina, met us and quietly showed us to our room as there was a land-preservation meeting going on in the large dining room. This room has large windows that frame the lake and surrounding nature. Our room was just right, private bathroom a little on the small side, but fine for us. Window unit air conditioner worked well and made for a comfortable temperature. After the meeting broke up, we were amazed at the peaceful quiet. The owner, Gina, was just the right amount of friendly without being intrusive. We had a great nights sleep and enjoyed a home cooked breakfast, pancakes, sausage, fruit. There were full continental offerings as well. We had access to canoes and kayaks. We finished off our visit with a nice paddle around the lake, wishing we had more time to spend at this Lakeside jewel.

You probably don’t want to vacation here. You’re probably looking for a fancy-dancy place with«spa amenities» and a big, heated pool. You most likely don’t want a rustic lodge with comfortable, yet spare rooms and an old-fashioned game room downstairs. I doubt you’d be interested in a homemade breakfast; you’re probably more the«chain motel plastic-wrapped muffins ‘continental’ breakfast» type. You probably don’t want to spend your days lazing on a pristine lakeshore, or fishing for largemouth bass 50 feet from your room, or barbecuing and making s’mores in the evening. Canoeing and swimming in the surprisingly warm, placid lake on a hot summer day don’t seem like your style. Yes, you’re probably not cut out for this place. I recommend you book at a Comfort Inn or something. That way there’ll always be a room here for my family when we need some«Alamoosook time.»
