Visual Entree Optometry

I’ve been coming to Visual Entrée ever since we moved to Orinda in 2010, and I have had nothing but wonderful experiences with Dr. Lee and her sister, Jessica. Both of them are very kind, professional, and thorough. I’ve been to other optometrists in the past who really try and push you to go with one product or another, but both Dr. Lee and Jessica seem to genuinely want you to choose whatever you truly like. They offer their best suggestions and opinions, but always reassure you that your decision is the final say (provided, of course, that your choice wouldn’t adversely impact your health).
During my last appointment, I wanted to switch from monthly lenses to daily lenses. Dr. Lee gave me generous samples of the following:
1-​Day Acuvue TruEye
Dailies AquaComfort Plus
And told me to try them out and see which one I preferred before she finalized my prescription. While I was there, Jessica even took the time to label each of the boxes AND the contact lens covers themselves so that I’d know which ones were for my left eye, and which ones were for my right. Very thoughtful!
I was actually interested in another brand, though, the Dailies Total 1, but Dr. Lee said that that might not be the most comfortable taking base curve and diameter into consideration. I was ready to agree with her and skip out on them, but she told me she would order some so I could try them out, too.
During my eye exam, Dr. Lee noted that my eyes seemed a little dry. I told her that I was staring at my phone screen a lot of the time, and she told me that I should take regular breaks, increase my water intake, and also consider an omega 3 supplement. In addition, she gave me samples of the Refresh Optive Advanced Triple Action Relief drops and the Refresh Celluvisc Lubricant Eye Gel, which she noted was a bit more intense as a formula. After walking me through the steps of application in the morning and at night, I felt pretty confident in using them.
As far as glasses go, I think they have a pretty great selection of glasses and sunglasses. If you’re interested in a particular frame, Jessica comes by with her tablet and shows you if there are any other colors available on the market that she could order for you.
I’m currently on the hunt for a pair of red cat-​eye frames and have yet to find what I’m looking for. There were a couple at Visual Entrée, but nothing really fit my face shape. Jessica noted what I was looking for and told me she’d call me to let me know if they received any shipments with red cat-​eye frames in them. To date, she has stayed true to her word and I’ve had a chance to look at some new Kate Spade frames that were what I specified, but didn’t quite fit my wide, heart-​shaped face.
I would highly recommend Visual Entrée to anyone who needs an optometrist. You won’t be disappointed!

I’ve been going here for a few years and love how attentive Dr. Lee is with her exams. Jessica is very friendly and knowledgeable about what frames look best with various head shapes. I moved to Vacaville but still drive there for my appointments. Definitely recommend them!

My four year old ran into a bush and scratched his eye pretty badly. I live in Orinda and looked up eye doctors and walked in without an appointment. They were so great and saw him right away. The doctor was so good with my son and he followed all her instructions (not a small feat with a four year old!) We were in an out with prescription drops and a follow up appointment and I even made myself an appointment for the following day for a vision exam I was so impressed with this office.

My fiancé recently visited Visual Entrée Optometry for a routine eye examination and new contacts. We live in the Orinda area, so it was very convenient for us to visit Visual Entrée. Visual Entrée is located in the Theater Square complex. You can either park on the street or in the parking garage (they validate!). The office is very simple and tasteful, with what appeared to be a wide selection of frames. My fiancé was very satisfied with his whole experience overall — the eye examination was thorough and Dr. Lee really went out of her way to help him find the perfect contact lenses. Very affordable, even before we used our insurance discount. Highly recommend!

Super nice people and Dr. Lee is great. Also I got a yearly supply of contacts at a price on par with 1800 Contacts. Great office, I highly recommend it.

Love these ladies! Super helpful, friendly, & amazing! I’ve always have a very active imagination and think the worse. Dr Lee took the time to explain everything to me and ease my fears about getting older/​losing my eye sight. She discussed with me the pros & cons of glasses vs contacts, which was very helpful for someone as indecisive as me! I eventually got glasses but am planning on going back for some contacts too!

My husband, my daughter and I all have gotten glasses here in the last month. We have found them to be outstanding in so many ways — very thorough in the exam, very helpful in finding frames, and persistent in the goal of making sure my husband’s contacts are exactly right.
Plus their friendly, professional and welcoming service and their lovely setting make it fun and pleasant to visit instead of a chore.
We highly recommend them, and are so happy they came to Orinda!

Their location may be new, but their service is really old fashion (in the positive way). They really care about getting it correct and I was extremely pleased with a my new glasses which are complicated with a lot of extras. Great selection of frames and quick service, even when I sat on my glasses followed by thrashing them in a skiing fall, they worked overtime (literaly staying late one Saturday) to make them fit. Thanks for the great service.

I initially went with my wife to Visual Entrée Optometry because she needed an examination and prescription filled. I was so impressed by both Dr. Stephanie Lee and her sister (who runs the logistical side of the business), that I decided to go back for my first pair of glasses. Dr. Lee and Jessica conduct themselves in an extremely professional and polite manner. They communicate well during all steps of the examination process, the explanation of insurance benefits, and the differences between the types of options that are available. They have an overwhelming number of frames available – including Gucci, Modo, and Rayban (I opted for a pair of Modo’s…they’re awesome!). The office itself is immaculate.

Dr. Lee is a friend of a friend. I dropped by to check out her selection of glasses and her place did not disappoint.
The selection ranges from high tech titanium frames to common brands.
Dr. Lee’s sister Jessica runs the optical portion and she has great fashion sense!
So 5 stars for great 1^st impression: professional with a sense of humor.
Too bad my insurance was not eligible, next time when it reset I will visit Dr. Lee again!

This optometry spot just opened a month or so ago in Orinda (at Theatre Square). It’s run by two sisters, and I love the place! They were both super friendly and helpful, and they have a deal right now for ½ off an exam from 3−6pm. Great service, great attitude and a nice selection of glasses. I highly recommend the place (i had my children’s eyes checked as well — and they felt very comfortable and welcome there). They also take VSP vision care insurance!
