We used to like it here but we have been very disappointed with the quality of food the past 3 visits. The pizzas are mediocre and overpriced.(The vegetarian is very soggy and tasteless. The sausage and mushroom is the best of the lot.) The salads are small and bland. The spaghetti and meatballs are definitely not worth the price– it’s just a pile of noddles with 2 medium meatballs. The bruschetta is terrible! I wouldn’t even call it bruschetta. I don’t know what happened to this place, but they definitely cut back on quality and raised the prices. Not a good combination!

Perfect, fresh pasta with delicious homemade sauces! So far I’ve only tried the marinara, but it’s flawless. Tried it with the fettucine tonight and I’m a big fan of the pairing. I’m sure I’ll be back for more and looking forward to trying their pizza.

What is there to say about this place except, wow! Since I was diagnosed with celiac disease I’ve yet to find a really good gluten free pizza. They use mariposa’s dough, which isn’t your usual thin crust gluten free pizza dough. It has the perfect thickness compared to all the toppings they put on! The sautéed mushrooms were awesome. My boyfriend got a regular pineapple and bacon pizza and immediately downed three pieces as soon as we got home. And they make a home made ranch which also WOW! We just finished eating and I’m already writing a review. That should say enough! Definitely our new go to spot.

We had a large Halloween Party and a party for our daughter’s soccer team back to back weekends and we couldn’t be happier with Piccolo Napoli’s service. The staff was friendly and helped us set up our large orders in advance(75 people+ for the Halloween Party). For the soccer party, they even arranged for delivery at a time where they don’t typically offer that service. We received many compliments on the pizza, and everything was delicious!

Great food, great service. Small family run resto with homemade classic Italian food. We had spaghetti with meatballs for the kids. Adults shared house salad and split pizza, half sausage/mushroom, half feta caramelized onion. Gelato was very good, especially the salted caramel.

We really enjoy this place. My personal fave is the meaty calzone, to which I usually add artichoke hearts. I’m a pretty gluttonous(aka«fat») guy, and I usually can’t finish it. The pizzas are flavorful with fresh toppings and the staff are friendly and attentive. Salads are very good, too. Always a good option if you’re looking for something to eat in Orinda.

We had a dissapointing experience here. Ordered Kale salad, then 10 minutes later they told us they were out of kale. Ordered salads with 5 extra shrimp each, but only had 2 shrimp per salad. Waitress later adjusted our bill by subtracting $ 2 out of the $ 5 we paid for the extra shrimps. Beers we wanted on the menu were not available. Wanted a pizza but were told it would take to long for us make our movie, but people came in after us & ordered pizza that came before our salads did. We still missed first 10 minutes of our movie. So slow service, many menu items not available, and bill was incorrect.

Great pizza — my 6 year old daughter and her friend asked for seconds, and thirds, and fourths! I love that they deliver, and the driver was friendly and on time. I appreciate that they have the traditional options, plus some more interesting options for pizza. And that there are some tasty non-pizza options for people like my older daughter who just won’t eat it.

Ok, I’m updating my review back up. As promised to the owner I will try again. Tonight I had the calzone and it was amazing. Nice work. The food is excellent. I only do take out so I have never experienced the table service.

After opening the door, I was greeted happily by the staff. I had pasta Alfredo, cheese pizza & house salad. All delicious. Tender pasta, perfect amount of garlic in the Alfredo sauce, great balance of cream & cheese. My husband loved his simple cheese pie, cooked perfect, great cheese to sauce ratio. We will be back soon!

There’s no better place for a pizza and a bottle of wine than this local favorite. Each time I go I have a better experience, and now i can tell that the place has caught on with regulars. Try their specials, pizza(like the Fig compote) or pasta(like baked Ziti-sagna) or homemade dessert(panne cotta with a tiramisu crust), there’s always a culinary surpirse. Ask for the brussells sprouts, but have the chef make them«Caesar style.» You won’t be diappointed! They have a new adult Root Beer Float, a hard root beer served with vanilla gelato that hits all the right notes. You can get a buzz and have dessert at the same time. Doesn’t that sound perfect? Thanks for another delicious meal, I’ll see you again very soon! Ciao!

Love this place! Great pizza and some of my favorite servers in the world! My buddies and I like the sausage and mushroom pizza the most, but I haven’t really had a bad one yet. Try it out.

I had the biggest craving for a margarita pizza so I checked this place out because of its reviews. The comments on the cute staff members and authentic food is what caught me and oh boy were they right! I was greeted the second I walked in and not a minute later by a lovely girl named Aja who happened to help me the rest of my time there! She was amazing! Always attentive, refilling my drinks, answering my questions, the works! And not to mention the pizza… My mouth is watering just thinking about it. The cheese was so creamy, basil oh so fresh. Can’t wait to go back and try more amazing dishes from this little family owed gem!

Piccolo Napoli is a casual type of restaurant, one with a bar and the game on with plenty of beers on tap. And I’m ok with that. The pizza was admittedly doughy, but it was still great. Bonus points to the staff, who gave us recommendations and had real personality.

In town on business and happened on this great restraint. Eating a Genoa sandwich as I write this. Very clean and friendly. The sandwich is very good and tasty and well presented. I will definitely be back and highly recommend you try it out.

Had the house salad and vegeterian calzone. Both tasted great! I come here a few times a month. The service is great and they really treat you like family here. Great people and great food… What more could you ask for?

Just called and asked a simple question about whether the meatballs was all beef and the lady that answered the phone gave me serious attitude and said for me to read it on the menu which is online. I told her that I am online and it doesn’t say, and the attitude continued saying that it’s in the starters section. I explained to her that I was in the pasta section and it’s listed in extra proteins with no description and with attitude she told me that I’m suppose to look in the appetizer section under what ever it’s called in Italian. How am I suppose to know what meatballs is called in Italian? Plus I’m not interested in Aps, I’m interested in Pasta and Pizza. I then had to think for a second, am I in New York? This type of attitude is common there. The millisecond it took me to realize that I’m in Orinda was the amount of time it took me to hit END on my phone. Note to owner, I hope that wasn’t you. If that was an employee, better management required. She did mention she was alone, which isn’t an excuse to give me attitude. I just asked if the meatballs were all beef for Chrisake! Bottomline, they just lost a valuable customer and received a 1 star on Unilocal

The pizza and gelato were great. Good flavor with the chocolate gelato. A deep cocoa but not dark. Salted caramel gelato was also delicious and very sweet with a butterscotch low note. Tried the fettuccine Alfredo, which came in a thick parmesan sauce with a strong nutmeg sweetness. I prefer Pasta Pomodoro’s papardelle Alfredo, but this one was interesting to try. We ordered the Pepperoni and tomato pizza, which is made with six cheeses, so we should have known it would mean that it would come out of the oven a bit greasy, but we liked the thin crust and topping flavors. Overall, the only improvement we would recommend is to add a little green – parsley? – to the dishes to add some color.
