I like Bayshore, maybe because I know what to expect. No glitz, just an old place on the water with good food. I love the relish plate & breadsticks, great onion rings and delicious perch and pickerel. A friend who dined with me last time, who was not a seafood lover, had the prime rib and enjoyed it very much. We sat out on the patio after dinner and enjoyed the view.

I know that this place is off the beaten track but if you want great perch and walleye this is the place in Toledo to go. I’ve been going here for years and have never been disappointed. The staff is a little rough around the edges but that doesn’t take away from the great seafood. My wife doesn’t like seafood at all but even she likes it here because the burgers are great. Id go here anytime rather than Red Lobster or a chain seafood restaurant.

Went there for the first time with an open mind even after seeing the reviews in Unilocal. The reviews were spot on though. The restaurant needed an update with shaggy carpet to the moo cow at the bar mooing every time someone went by which was annoying. The scene outside of our window was little to desire but the other side had a view of the water. I had a cup of vegetable soup thank goodness just a cup! It tasted like frozen vegetables placed in a cup with a bouillon cube and heated up in the microwave. Not flavorful at all. The salad was just tossed salad out of a bag with dressing. They brought out a veggie tray which reminded me of going to my grandparents house it had sweet pickle, radishes, peppers, carrots, green onions, and celery which we ended up nibbling on before our main dishes came out. I ordered the New York Stripe steak and my other half ordered the Fillet of Sirloin steak which is described as an 8oz certified Angus beef fillet wrapped in bacon. Well his order was wrong and missing the bacon and seasoning was just like mine. We both ordered ours medium since we were were leery to order medium rare. Mine was dry on one end with the other end medium rare very unevenly cooked as his was. The one thing I liked was the pre-made peanut butter pie dessert we got to go and that’s not saying much big disappointment good thing it was a groupon.

If ever there was a restaurant in need of a phone call to «Restaurant Impossible», it’s this one. While the ‚“supper club” atmosphere is kitschy, it hasn’t been updated in 40 years or more. The food is ok, with the perch being my favorite. I like the fact that you get a relish plate to snack on before dinner, but all in all, the place needs a serious makeover to make me want to eat there on a regular basis. It has potential if they would just update.,

Décor is kind of like a mobster hangout from the 20’s. The staff were nice but spotty. The rolls were quite nice, and even got a plate of veggies to snack on. Onion ring appetizers were very good for the price. Salad was ok, but dressing was fresh made and excellent. I got the breaded whitefish, which tasted awful until I realized that the tarter sauce was off a bit. Without the sauce it was acceptable. Loaded baked potato was average. Pricing was way too high for the meal quality and service however. Dinner for 4 with a $ 8 appetizer for $ 75? I expect much more. The«shore view» is a small inlet with a view to the lake, but also a view to some pretty nasty looking backyards. All in all pretty ok, almost took down to two stars with the cost.

Went here with a gift certificate. Started with the clam strips. Not bad and was hopeful. Ordered the Tilapia dinner. This was 15.99 and the salad was lettuce out of a bag with a lot of the core in it and 1 slice of a cucumber and deviled egg. This is where it went downhill from there. The tilapia was broiled — way over broiled — the potato was loaded and even though it was cooked they cut up scallions and put it on the top — far from chives. The seasoning on the tilapia was a ton of cracked black pepper and if it hadn’t been for the lemon too overpowering. Last but not least a stale dinner roll to accompany it all. Service was very poor. We felt ignored for the larger table of friends of the waitress. She knew she was guaranteed the 20% tip so she didn’t have to concentrate on our dining experience I guess. It has been many years since we have been there even though we only live 2 miles down the road and after a large bill for overpriced cheap ingredients I will not be going back.
