About 7 years ago I used to live very near this little store. I loved having it so close and convenient, but the best thing is itdoesn’t have the convenience store prices. They run the same ads, coupons and specials as the big grocery stores like Thriftway. They have a pretty good selection of groceries, meats and deli. Now that I don’t live up there, I had basically forgot about them. The other day I was in downtown OC and was heading home when my 5th grader called and said I forgot to send a vegetable to school with her for the pioneer project. So I drive by Spicers, but they weren’t open yet. I decide I’ll have to stop at Redland Store and pay a high price for a wilted vegetable. Then I remembered Steve’s Market! It was only ¼ mile off my route. I pulled in and saw they also had the lowest gas prices I’ve seen anywhere. So I filled my tank while I ran in and bought a nice fresh zuccini. I chatted it up with the owner for a bit, he gave me a copy of the next weeks ads and coupons and i was on my way. I made a mental note to definitely remember that as my «go-to» store if i ever need something on the way home again. I hate driving clear up to the top of the hill for just a gallon of milk or loaf of bread. Plus I can get gas cheap too! Thanks for being there Steve’s!
