Pioneer Church

I love the quaint, quiet, peaceful setting. There is just something so special about following in the footsteps of our ancestors especially during such a monumental point in our lives.
While the church itself has limited seating and apparently no changing areas, the grounds are large and beautifully manicured. This is definitely the place to come for an intimate wedding for nature and history lovers.
The pricing seems quite reasonable, the location convenient and not far from several parks where you could have an outdoor (covered area) reception.
I can’t ever see myself getting married again, but if I find myself in just such a place in life, this will definitely be high on my list.

My husband and I were married here in 1996. It was the most picture perfect wedding. No decorations needed, just some flowers. The chapel is neat and clean, warm and inviting. It was the perfect venue for my wedding. I recommend it highly.
Here is a little history behind the church from their website
The 1895 German Methodist Church was acquired by the Baker Cabin Society in 1967. Originally built by a German community in Logan it was abandoned in 1920. It is said that all sermons were preached in German. Slated for demolition, the church was salvaged by a group of community members lead by Ernest Heinrich, who moved it to the Baker Cabin Site.
Beautifully restored, the Pioneer Church, in it’s tranquil wooded setting, has become a popular for Weddings.
It is small, holds maybe 75 people, has no ready room, no indoor plumbing or A/​C. It’s wonderful for photography, accoustics and needs little added décor.
