To say that this place is charming would be a complete understatement. We spent 3 hours here Friday night to kick off my sisters bachelorette weekend. It’s an incredibly small town and it has all the small town charm someone could desire. Becky one of the owners is as sweet and accommodating as possible. We really enjoyed our time and conversation with her and her husband Dave is an incredibly talented wine maker that makes a very wide variety of different wines. Friday night it felt like the whole town was dropping in and the Stix BBQ Santa Maria Style food truck was there serving an incredible dinner. We played games, chatted, ate, and enjoyed great wine for hours. I would recommend this place to anyone! Thanks Dave and Becky for a great start to our weekend!

We were driving through Orcutt and decided to stop by Core. We were the only ones there and were greeted warmly. We really enjoyed our 2 for 1 tasting. Friendly staff and great conversation!

Huge selection of wines, many really exceptional! I love Old Orcutt so this is one of our regular spots, they always have an excellent bread/​cheese plate and truffles from Heart & Sugar next door. It’s hard to find that many yummy things in one place.

We love this winery! Dave and Becky are awesome and the wines are top notch! We don’t mind the 100 mile drive to taste the wine and visit them! We definitely recommend this winery to all of our friends! Core is one winery you MUST visit!

We absolutely love this place. Finally a winery which creates amazing blends of iconic varietals. You must try their Incubus! 53% Grenache 47% Mouvedre aged in 100% French Oak for 6 years. Outstanding wine. The best I have ever had.

I ordered one of CORE’s amazing red blends, the ’07 Kuyam, for my wife’s birthday. Impressively the mail lost it. Unsure what to do I contacted Becky who handled the situation that day and overnighted me a replacement. Beyond this wine being truly one of the most amazing blends I’ve tasted in some time, Becky goes above and beyond. CORE is more than just an outstanding winery, it’s an amazing company. From tip to toe, the best.

Very rarely do I enjoy every single wine tasted in a tasting room. Having just moved here, I wasn’t expecting to find good wine anywhere down here besides Presqu’ile. I couldn’t have been more wrong. I ended up leaving with a bottle of Hard Core, with all the intentions in the world of coming back more regularly. The atmosphere is open, with local art posted, and the service was great. It’s also really neat they have certain days and times for $ 5 tasting of 3 wines, intended for parents on the go. I can’t wait to go back again soon!

I met David Corey in Monterey and his enthusiasm and friendliness prompted us to visit his very artistic tasting room. It’s a very nice space with very nice wines indeed!
Right now they are clearing out library wines to make space — what a great deal. I purchased a case of 2007 Mourvèdre, regularly $ 45 per bottle, for $ 12 each! The wine is worth the original asking price of $ 45, plus the aging has been done for you. This wine should last another year or two. Get it while it lasts!

This place not only has awesome wines, the people that run it are as pleasant as can be. I always feel like I am going to visit family with the way my friends and I are treated with each visit. The new tasting room is spacious and features an abundance of artists. They now have bread and cheese there which is always a treat. Their events are a great time every time I end up going. I highly recommend visiting this place.

Second visit to Core Wine and I am impressed with their wines. So much depth and character. Mostly reds, Rhone blends, cabs and Syrah, Mourvèdre etc.
Had 8 wines to taste, loved them. Will be back.

Core is a cute and quaint tasting room in Orcutt. My cousin and I went to Core for a little girl time. It was not too busy when we walked in. It was quite loud because the owner’s kids were running around playing. We finally start wine tasting and after reading all of the great reviews on Unilocal,I don’t get it. The wine and service were subpar. Will I be back? Nope, there are too many wineries on the Central Coast that provide great wine and top notch service.
