Sometimes a 3-star on Unilocal is still considered bad but this was a tricky rating which you will see in my review. We checked out a rental we liked and while the guy was nice he gave us conflicting info, left out details, a bit lost not knowing basic info and I had to explain that w/s/g was water/sewer/garbage and not water/sewer/gas. LOL Even through that we still decided to put in our applications. First they get a star for being one of the FEW property management companies that do first come, first serve. This means they process apps in the order receive and NOT gather 20 apps and make everyone pay an app fee only to battle it out and have them pick the best one like this is the movie Gladiator. Second, their processing time. Now granted we were more prepared than others but we were approved within a day. The third star was because we stepped away from the house since we found out the utilities were way too high for that type of house(SMUD said there had to be insulation issues). That’s not their fault I should have checked first, but they understood and told us they keep our app open for 60-days and would proactively look for houses for us which I think is standard speak in property mgmt. Overall, although I gave it 3-stars but I would still rent a house they were the PM’s for if they ever get rentals. I had to deduct because they did give conflicting info and details, never called us back as promised and it’s been weeks later and no new rentals.

I recently worked with this company in hopes of securing a home for me and my finance to rent… I initially view a home I liked and wanted to rent so I told him it was a go and we should apply. we put our paperwork in and were approved very quickly… We placed a deposit with them and signed a deposit contract stating we could back out at any time but we would loose 1⁄30 of our deposit for each day the house was off the market… totally understandable… then so my fiancé could see the property Scott was kind enought to do an evening viewing of the property… my fiancé didn’t like the home and so we decided we would keep looking… I called Scott and requested a refund of our deposit minus the fees for taking the house off the market. Scott was very friendly and professional. He told me because of the thanksgiving holiday it may take a few days to get me a refund… in my mind I was thinking a few days is cool… the contract said it could take up to 21 days which would have been an issue since we still need our deposit for a new place… an hour or so after I requested the refund Scott called to say I could pick it up that same day… Even though I didn’t end up going with them I would say the staff is all very friendly and professional. They seem to care about their renters. Thank you!

It took just over 3 months to get most of the big issues taken care of, which really isn’t great. It takes a lot of time to get the management to agree to send maintenance, HOWEVER, their maintenance guy, Robert, is incredibly helpful and kind. He will go out of his way to get things taken care of! He has dramatically improved my opinion of the company. I still won’t recommend them, but renewing the lease is no longer completely out of the question.

I have contacted Hastings in the past about a tenant I was having problems with. They helped answer my questions and gave me a few suggestions that really helped. My tenant just recently moved out and I had Hastings help me find a new tenant. They were able to find me a new tenant in 2 weeks! Thanks Hastings!

Hastings property management has been managing my rental in Rocklin for several years. I finally decided to spread the good word about them on Unilocal… They handle every aspect of the rental process and take all the headaches out of being a landlord. I highly recommend them!

Called them three times to get information about a home for rent for a friend .left two messages and spoke with a secretary that was unable to answer any questions about the home. I am sure the homeowners would not be happy if they knew this was going on.
