Wayyy too expensive for what you get. I did build your own salad, they give you 5 toppings and each additional topping is .79. They were SUPER skimpy on the toppings. I got chicken and it literally had like 3 pieces of chicken. Same with all the others. I ended up paying $ 10 for lettuce.

Nice healthier alternative to many of the other local lunch spots. This place has been my go to for nearly 4 months now, in almost 5 days a week. During that time I’ve gotten healthier, I’m not completely lethargic after lunch(which helps when you have project deadlines) and i am proud to support a local entrepreneur. Rarely have i had a misstep here from the staff who is incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about their ingredients in each salad. The salads are all fresh and light,(I have tried all except Sophie’s Salad and the Buffalo Blu), the soups are great, especially now that it’s cold, and the sandwich make a great half and half with any of the above. Give it a try, maybe you’ll use it as a healthy lunch spot now and again!

First time here. Not impressed. Restaurant prices for fast food style place and food mediocre. Salad was okay. Broccoli and cheddar soup is very bland. With panera right around the corner… Way better quality for the same if not cheaper price… Plus panera has refillable drinks. I won’t be coming here again. Side note… Staff was very friendly.

3.5 Stars and Rounding Up! The little one was sick and I was Unilocaling all over for some soup. This was the only place that sounded decent(based on Unilocal reviews) and was not too far. Ordinarily, a place called Saladworks would sound like a rip off to me. I can make a salad with fresh ingredients at home… right? Wrong! They have a ton of different salads and the ingredients are fresh. They have pre-made designs or you can make your own. I decided to make my own. I chose half iceberg lettuce and half fresh spinach leaves. I also chose tomatoes, carrots and fresh avocado. The little one chose pepperoni and cheese. We shared the salad and bought soup. We ordered a certain type of Chicken Soup(I can’t remember the name). They had 6 soups to choose from. Overall, I am a fan of the food. The soup and salads were good. However, they carry a hefty price. I think my salad alone was 9 bucks. When I left there, I spent a total of $ 24. I suppose we got enough food for 3 people, but the price for soup and salad sounds a bit high. ~Parking: Parking is easy, even though this location is at the mall. Just park in one of the designated 15 minute spots. Overall, AOK and then some. Rounding up to 4 stars.

The last two times I’ve been coming here I’ve been seeing somethings that I don’t like! There’s one employee that constantly keeps rubbing in our faces«Add ons are 79 cents» CLEARLY we know this because we’ve been here 3x and its listed by the saladbar! It became such a turn off because if we didn’t know it cost 79 cents more we wouldn’t have asked for it! Secondly the price of these add-ons are ridiculous! Pretty much a dollar for an extra mini scoop of walnuts?! Today we came {10.24.12} around 3ish, and since its Wednesday we assumed it was 5.99 for salads! Clearly it wasn’t and nobody said anything about it so we ended up paying full price. One of the employees did not hear my mom when she said«half salad, half sandwhich» and made her a full salad and forgot the sandwhich. So we still had to pay extra for that mistake. When I brought it up to the female employee she gave me a nasty attitude and was rude. She bought over the sandwhich she forgot about which was mines and dropped it at the table. I love their food but can’t see spending 30 dollars each time for salads and a cup of soup. I think I’m going to stay away from here for a while and give Souplantation another shot since they don’t charge you for toppings, and the soup and bakery is included in the price! Maybe if the employees acted better and add-ons weren’t an arm and a leg it’d be different.

When you dont have enough time to eat at Souplantation, this is the spot! I love it. I originally came on my lunch break and walked in to try their Wednesday Deal(any salad for $ 5.99) but their sandwiches looked so good that I ordered a half salad and half sandwich for $ 6.99. The food was fresh and made right in front of you. I was tired of a week full of bad food and was desperately craving a salad. I got a Greek salad and one of there Chicken Sandwiches. YUM! I will definitely come back to try another salad and a pannini!

I find it funny that most of the bad reviews on here are people who are complaining about portion sizes or that it doesn’t measure up to other places. Well of course its not going to measure up to other places as this place actually cares about ones health. They are not going to claim they’re a healthy food place and then serve your over the top portions and over dressed salads(unless requested). Also the Buffalo Chicken Panini is delicious, it’s not smothered in flavor like other places, and the chicken is seasoned to it. I’ve gone there a couple times with my co-workers for lunch as well as several other times for dinner and I think half and half combo is a perfect portion, at least its helping me realize that hey my body is actually full after eating this and I don’t need more. So I’m happy to see a fast-food place, even if it is salads/sandwiches that actually is trying to make an alternative choice to bad eating habits. I’ve enjoyed this place, my co-workers have enjoyed this place. The only reason why it doesn’t look busy at times is because of location as its just a small little shop stuck in between Red Robins and Active and if you don’t see the sign as most people will look at whats in the parking lot after passing Active and see chipotle and coffee bean then at the stop sign look back towards the food court and Red Robin and Todai and miss this place. I will say this, I love Salads, always have and always will. This place is a great choice for salads, as the veggies here are always fresh. Definitely recommend it.

I opted to go healthy and every time I am in this area, I always wondered if this salad place was any good. So I decided to stop by for a light dinner and the way it works is kinda like subway or a chipotle. build your own salad or have the pre made ones that are already set on the menu. It was pretty empty when I got there around 6 which means… i was a little early for dinner or this place really sucked. They have a lot of displays out of what their salad bowls look like and they were neatly presented so it appeals to you i guess. I ordered: Autumn Harvest($ 7.49) — Romaine, iceberg, roasted turkey, craisins, corn, carrots, sunflower seeds, and crispy apple chips… uhhh not impressed… One bite… not impressed. All the good stuff was at the bottom and well… i was disappointed. There was barely any chicken either. I really think the best part about this was the raspberry vinaigrette and the crispy apple chips but thats about it. Walk a few steps over to Chipotle. You’d be more satisfied! Save yourself the money because with $ 2 more, you can go to soup plantation and its ALLYOUCANEAT! NOTE: –Build your own salad –Took half my salad home and popped it in the fridge and 1 hour later, the salad turned a bit brown:(

Went back here for lunch today, they have a nice Wednesday special for a $ 6.50 salad after tax. The line moved quickly and efficiently, and the staff was polite and helpful. I picked my own toppings and got a delicious wheat roll to go along with it. The roll was warm and soft just how you’d expect it to be. The salad was good size and was pretty good. Although I’m never blown away by salad of any kind, if you are looking for a custom salad this place is worth checking out.

Sure its a healthy alternative, sure its great for if your watching them calories. But is it any good? I really didn’t think so. I hate to be «that» guy to throw up a bad review early in a restaurants opening but I was just not impressed with this place. To be honest with Panera Bread close by I would rather go there. The salad that my wife got was nothing special and was too expensive for what your getting. I got the Buffalo Chicken Panini and it was not good at all. The only thing stopping me from giving this a one star is that it was edible. It just felt cheap… like I could of made one better by taking some lunch meat and some blue cheese dressing and smashing the bread with two hot pans. Im sorry but I dont think we will be coming back here. However the guys working were really nice and let us try the soups they had which were not too bad… so maybe there is hope with the soups… CHEERS

This place definitely served one of the best salads that aren’t over 400 calories(w/dressing!) that I’ve had in a long time! Being skeptical at first, I was thinking this was just another hipster-trendy thing concocted by a hemp-loving save-the-whales activist type; I mean c’mon, «SaladWorks»!!! HAHA — WRONG! I was actually very surprised to learn it’s a national chain, and very glad it’s making a name for themselves here in OC. You walk in, and there’s essentially a salad-bar, behind a diner-like glass/counter where you’re greeted and asked what you’d like to order. After giving his recommendations, and filled us in on the nutritional values(calories weren’t posted), they make your salad fresh on the spot. You also get a choice of fresh, warm wheat or white rolls with your salad. Prices for specialty salads were between $ 6 – 8. And the portions are very filling. The place is very clean and bright. The staff was really friendly. The owner/franchiser actually introduced herself to us after we sat down, who was extremely thankful and friendly. After telling her how impressed I was, I told her it’s good to see a place like this pop up in OC, and wondered if they planned on expanding into locations. Tustin near the Tustin Brewery & Lost Bean(also two fav’s) and Costa Mesa off 17th will be opening soon too. They’re also considering Fullerton as well. They deliver for orders over $ 35. If I could offer any form of suggestion to Saladworks, it would be 1) post the calories of the salads on the menu; they’re excellent selling points! and 2) switch from the bottled sodas to fountain because(a) higher margins come with the fountain systems, and(b) customers prefer being able to get refills and take them to go. Overall, we found ourselves a new healthy lunch fav. Bön Appétit!

How did I overlook sharing my review for so long… Cleaning up my bookmarks and realized I never finished sharing my experience here via Unilocal ~I caught their Grand Opening Day and immediately loved how bright and energetic this location was. Sophisticated Healthier Dining Options!!! And to top it off, someone to toss and blend my selection, an option I used to only find in a fine dining restaurant uears ago in La Canada, CA. Yes, I understand Souplantation does the same, but the ambiance differs nonetheless. Vibrant photos displayed a huge delection of salads! I wanted to try everything. I loved they have weekly specials, but I definitely would not mind paying a little more for a gourmet salad when the quality is very high standards as they were on my visit. Such a GREAT salad and soup/a more«gourmet» sandwich eatery, fast, ultra clean, TONS of variety, and word has it they’ve just added beets to their colorful spread and delightful options. It’s a treat to see salad selections being more than just a dressing, lettuce and carrots! I wish we had a spot like this to go to much closer to my home and I know I’d make much more of an effort to eat my greens. Soup was flavorful, and garnished like you’re dining out and not simply in a «fast food» joint. Yet the staff are very nice and attentively efficient so dining can be quick. They have so many enticing selections I’d definitely return for a daily meal here if I could! Fingers crossed these Saladworks venues may migrate out my way.

Came here for lunch with my husband, the moment we came into the restaurant, we were greeted by the friendly staff. They asked us if it was our first time, the staff happily explained to us the way the restaurant works. All the ingredients for the salads looked and tasted fresh. Ordered the mandarin chicken salad, it was amazing!!! The chicken was cooked perfectly, the lettuce/spinach combo was fresh and crunchy. My husband had the pick two, chicken mozarella panini with lasagna soup, he loved them both!!! I would definitely recommend this place to all those salad-lover out there or if you are trying to incorporate more vegetables to your daily diet.

Saw this place from the corner of my eye when I was in Coffee Bean while I was thinking of what I was going to eat for dinner… I took it as a sign and went in. The employee described how the place works since it was my first time and though their salad combos looked pretty good, I decided to create my own for the same price. Lettuce and 5 ingredients plus dressing. Lots of options, both healthy and a bit more indulgent(at least as indulgent as a salad can be)…chose my toppings and was surprised with how big the serving was. As I got rung up I discovered that the serving was huge probably because it isn’t the cheapest thing ever…$ 8 and some change for a big salad and a white or wheat roll. Not TOO bad considering that I split it into 2 meals, but still. The salad was good and tasted as if I made it myself, just without any work… nice considering that I’m a lazy ass. I will probably be back in only on Wednesdays though when salads are $ 6.

Healthy, fresh, delicious salads at affordable prices made to your liking! You can create your own salad or choose the one’s they’ve created. I tried their club salad with the garlic ranch dressing and it was very tasty. I loved the dressing. And I like how they add a little pasta in the mix of the salad. Service is great and the salads are great portions. They also have soups and sandwiches too.

Solid 4 stars. This is the newest of their locations and its easy to see if you pull into the parking lot of the mall from the WalMart side. The layout can be a little confusing but its one of those places where you order, watch your order get prepped and pay before you sit(or leave for takeout). I like that they place their special concoctions right in the window so you can see it and order, but I also believe they make personalized orders as well. A salad order comes with a wheat or white bread-roll. All of the ingredients are fresh and they have a wide variety of salad dressings. They also serve a few different soups as well. The only thing that makes this place a 4 is the price. The salads I ordered were near $ 9 each.

I’m not a vegetarian but I’m trying to eat healthier and more«vegetarian-like» so I was looking forward to this place opening. I tend to like to break things down so here it is… Service: We were greeted right when we walked in the door by two workers sitting in the corner. The guys at the counter were quick to greet us with smiles and immediately offered us samples for the soups. They talked to us the whole time and even when it was taking a little more time to make one of our sandwiches they communicated that it was only going to take a few minutes. Food: I love the variety. It’s very hard to make salads exciting. You get to see everything you can use to create your own salad and they also have suggested ones you can choose from. You can also choose to do half salad, soup/sandwich combo which we did. The soups we sampled were all good– clam chowder, vegetarian chili, and some type of chicken one that my boyfriend got. The soups were not watered down but hearty and not too salty like most soups. I hope the great service holds up and they get more customers in because it’s near my boyfriends house and I plan on visiting them a lot more. It would be a shame if they go out of business. So I recommend them. It’s a great healthy alternative.

Saladworks at Village at Orange has the most delicious soup and salad I ever ate! I’m SO excited to live close to this outstanding restaurant! I can go every day or have it delivered! Thank you God! I ate Sophie’s salad substituting artichoke hearts/no chicken. The cran-raisins, pecans and apples were exquisite! I also added sunflower seeds and cucumbers! EVERYBITEWASBETTERTHAN the last bite! I was in heaven! Superior quality fresh ingredients! WOW! I ordered dressing on the side half french — half honey mustard! Oh that combo made the wild bitter field greens so very scrumptious! DEEEELICIOUS! Butternut squash soup! OMG that was the best soup I ever tasted! Soup was fresh and healthy and hot and comforting and PERFECT! It was like putting LOVE in my mouth and tummy! Plus I went today which was the grand opening so salads were only $ 5 — wow! Wish I could rate it «10» stars!
