OC Sheriff’s Dept Law Enforcement and Public Pistol Range

One of the best shooting ranges in all of Orange County. The entire staff is friendly and helpful. The range master John was extremely informative and even took the time to give me a few accuracy pointers. The premises itself is very clean and the shooting lanes are nice with digital distance readouts on each lane that measures up to 25 yards in distance. This is a LE training/​practice facility so you will be shooting along side sheriff deputies. police officers and tactical/​SWAT officers so the rules are a little more strict than other public ranges but the $ 7.00÷2 hour price and the friendly staff are well worth it.
I will definitely be coming back.

This a great little gem of a gun range in North OC. It’s a partially indoor/​outdoor 60ft range run by the OC Sheriff Dept. It’s only $ 7 for your first 2 hours and $ 2 more for each additional hour or $ 10 a day. They only take cash or check and do not offer change. Bring your own gun with they only allow pistoles or revolvers. There is a store next door which sells ammo if you need some. You have to meet with the RO before you are allowed to use the range and show competency with your gun. One main rule of the range is that you are only allowed to shoot magazines with no more than 5 rounds loaded. And no rapid fire. Also you need to clean up your own brass which is not a big deal since they offer brooms and dustpans to dispose in red buckets. You can also collect your shells which is great if you plan to resell your brass. Also there are convicts there that are from the local jail to clean and maintain the range. Don’t be alarmed and don’t have any interaction with them.
Over all this a great place with some really cool people that work there. Since it’s a Sheriffs Range you don’t run into the random idiots like you do at other places. For the price this place can’t be beat!
