I am from Columbus Ohio visiting, and Lisa the manager, found this wonderful sterling silver spoon with Columbus engraved on the spoon. What would be the chances of finding such an item? This started my spoon collection! Then Lisa and Bonnie both took the time for me to show me their spoon collection plus educate me the difference between sterling and silver plate. It is this wonderful personal care and attention they show their customers that gives this business a 5 star rating.

I am decking the house out in vintage and diy décor so I decided to stop in. They asked what I was looking for and I said I like a bit of shabby chic and 70s décor with a lot of vintage knick knacks. The oldest lady immediately said they didn’t have anything for me there. Interesting… I saw a few cute things but clearly they didn’t think I could afford it. Well ladies I can, but I just won’t be spending my money at your shop because of your attitude.

«LIFEISSHORT. USETHEGOODDISHESTONIGHT!» A & P’s slogan says it all. Vintage and collectibles alike were made to be used back in their day and it still stands true. The older wares are much more durable than we realize and can stand our«loving» on them in true fashion. I know this because of the fine young ladies behind the counter at A & P. Lisa and Bonnie really know the history AND purpose of many items they have in their store. They are true experts in glass and stem ware. It is quite a treat to go into A & P! You will learn something new every time.

A&P is as good as it gets in the world of small antiques and collectibles shops. The owners are a mother-daughter team who are true experts on the kinds of things they sell — having developed their knowledge over a lifetime of loving old things and learning more about them every day. This helps customers like me, who learn so much just stepping inside to look at the beautiful things and choose some lovely item for our home or for a friend as a very special gift. I discovered this wonderful shop more than 33 years ago after I first moved to Orange and began to learn about the businesses in charming Old Towne — meeting Bonnie who was then running the place and displaying beautiful sterling silver and china, and always friendly and welcoming. The place is neat, and there is also some clutter, but that is because of the vast collection of items for sale in a small space. It is the total honesty, expertise, and caring that makes this a special place — this is where one can shop with complete confidence that items are real antiques or more recent collectibles, fairly priced, and well chosen. My home now contains dozens of very nice things that once lived in other homes, but now are our family’s treasures. Over the years, Bonnie and Lisa have helped us live with many beautiful decorative items from the past. Note: parking in Old Towne is on the street or in various lots behind the Glassell Street shops, and sometimes crowded — but there is always parking somewhere nearby. This gives an opportunity to walk along the streets and enjoy the shops and restaurants too.
