Ok, so you are going to drive up and park outside of a busy downtown Jax bar assuming that some drunkard is going to stumble out and buy some grub? That’s actually a really good bet on your part. Next you re going to tell me that it’s tasty, two AM. grub as well?! Well played sandwich serving sir, well played!

These guys pulled up outside of Lit and 1904 while I was in Jax doing some Elbow bar hoping, and am I glad they did. The smell of burgers being grilled and spiral chips being fried is enough to stop even the most un-hungry of fat boys after a night of beer guzzling. But it wouldn’t be the burgers and chips that caught my eye; it was the Italian sammich. I’m on a quest to find the best, and this one is up there. In fact, on my Italian sammich scale, I’m going 4.75 on this one. Fresh veggies, tasty tomatoes, lots of mayo and mustard and very flavorful ham and salami. This was great for a late night snack, but would have been just as good for lunch or diner, trust me. If you’re in the Jax area and have an opportunity to catch up with these guys, please do so. My boy Swan ordered a burger and it was toothsome as well. I’m pretty sure the whole menu, though limited, is legit. My only belly gripe, and it’s a small one, is that the guys says, «Do you want a 6 or 8 inch sub?» I said«6 incher.» He then takes down a roll, cuts one inch from each end and throws them away. Are you kidding me? LOL Why not just offer an 8 inch sub instead of wasting food? Everyone came out a loser in regards to those 2 inches of bread!
