I’ve gotta say that I’m a fan of this place. You can definitely find different, out-of-the-ordinary gifts here and the best part is that they’re all locally made. What I also enjoy is that there is something for everyone here! From vases and paintings to french-style rolling pins and beautiful handmade cards, you could spend hours just shopping around. What’s cool about this place is that each of the artists that sell their work at the store take turns working a shift to run the place, so it’s one big collaborative community. Yes, the prices are a little bit more than, say, the local Wal-Mart, but just remember that you know exactly where your goods are coming from and that they’re one-of-a-kind and not mass produced in a factory. So, with the holiday season fast approaching, I definitely recommend stopping by Artisans Guild where you’ll probably be able to scratch a gift or two off your shopping list.

This cute store sells handmade crafts, paintings, and the like by local artists. I don’t think I saw anything here that wasn’t beautiful or interesting, from the toy trains to the jewelry to the chocolates shaed like deviled eggs. But my god is everything expensive. An example is tempura paintings of chickadees, maybe 5×5 inches, for several hundred dollars. The least expensive item I saw were oversized clothespins for six dollars. It’s definitely a cool place to walk around(leave the little ones with sticky fingers at home), but don’t expect to buy anything unless you have quite a bit to spend.
