Royal Thai & Indian Cuisine

As stated by some of the other reviews the service is slow, but the food is well worth the wait! Will be going back again. So very good!

With a name like «Royal Thai,» you might expect that on the Lunch buffet line you would find an assortment of Thai dishes. If that was what you are thinking, you are sorely mistaken.
What you will find, however, is an assortment of Indian curries and sundry sides, such as garlic naan and egg drop soup.
As far as the food goes, it is pretty tasty, and I saw the buffet line being refreshed numerous times, so it is fresh. The spice level is «Midwest medium.»
Again, food is good, unfortunately it isn’t Thai, at least on the Lunch Buffet. My server was still in training, so I had to ask for some of the basic things such as a refill on my beverage and my check.

Nice indian food. Since I was with an indian colleague, they were very accomodating to twick the dishes a little and make them differently.
Prices are good, ambiance is very simple, but clean. A very good option fon indian food in La Crosse/​Onalaska area

Excellent food! Took my parents there for their first Indian and Thai meal and they were very impressed. We ordered across the menu and each dish was fresh and well-​prepared. My folks declared the fried rice to be better than any Chinese restaurant’s and they LOVED the lamb biryani. The server was attentive and courteous.
I thought their medium spiciness level was a little tame. I’ll be more adventurous next time.
The only sad thing was that we went on a Friday night and the place was desolate. La Crosse/​Onalaska — you have a gem among you! Fill this place up! They deserve it!

The food was amazing! The staff was great. I ate Indian food today but I can’t wait to go back for Thai food. I am so glad to have food food so close to home. This place has the most authentic food in the area. The buffet had a great variety of food and I am excited to go back for dinner items. The staff was great to my children as well. That is always a plus. The restaurant was clean and well maintained.

This was my first time eating Indian Cuisine. I was impressed! The flavors were great. There was a huge selection of items at the buffet. It looks very small from outside but roomy and clean inside. I will be back soon!

The outside was deceiving, it didn’t look like much. When we went in though it was very nice. Both booths and tables available and high chair too. We got an appetizer, paneer «cheese» pakodas, which was light and really good. Almost like a way better mozzarella stick. My husband ordered the tikka masala, and he really liked it. I ordered a goat meat dish with potatoes and herbs. I enjoyed the dish’s rich flavors however I had to pick out bones and fat, which provide extra flavor, but it wasn’t too difficult. We also ordered naan bread, which was very flavorful and our dishes came with long grain white rice. I shared my meal with my toddler and she enjoyed it as well. I ordered a Thai tea, They make a really good one. I am anxious to try their Thai coffee. I didn’t try their bubble, however I learned they make theirs from rice opposed to tapioca, so I’m really curious to try that too. The waiter was friendly, helpful, and patient. Over all the atmosphere was great, can’t help but want to dance to the music though. ;) oh on a side note they do buffet for lunch and a menu for dinner, we came in at 1:30, when they are still doing buffet, but we don’t care for buffets, and we were able to order from menu anyways. Fantastic place. Was in town for business and did not expect to find a place like this. I didn’t have anything off the Thai menu, but the Goat Madrasi was fantastic and the garlic naan was very fresh and not soggy.

First time at this restaurant. It was a horrible experience. The serve was very slow and my meal order was wrong. Very spicy. The sever did not come back to our table after the food was delivered. We waited forever just to get our bill. Very disappointing.

We’ve ordered take out twice, gone to a Saturday buffet once and had dinner once and I can say I loved it all. Take out took the average amount of time you’d expect. The buffet, while a bit pricey, was great. I loved all the options. I also enjoyed dinner. I don’t feel like it took a particularly long time for our food to come and came out very hot and delicious. Would definitely go again.

I am so happy we stopped here! The menu is extensive, the food was superb and flavorful. And the staff were friendly and attentive and the service was top-​notch.
We are planning to stop by for the lunch buffet someday.
