Well, hate to say this when someones trying something a little different, BUT… I just told the owner to give me his best sandwich. Its was this dense, greasey, peanut putter & marshmellow or something sweet(fine w sweet) but almost limp thing. Grilled. Not good. Just too much of a good thing.

PB Johnny’s is my favorite food truck in town! I’ve now visited at least 6 times. They have a number of sandwich staples that are inventive and fun(try the tin can!) but they also expand the menu depending on location. For example, last Saturday at the farmers market, there were a couple extra breakfast options, including a bagel sandwich and an unreal grilled cheese. I really appreciate how friendly and helpful the staff is too. PB Johnny’s is usually by Scriptown on the weekends, at the chamber of commerce for lunch on Tuesday, and at the farmers market Saturday(downtown). You can always find them by checking out their social media. All in all, give them a try. Really savory, incredible sandwiches, all made to order; you will truly enjoy it!

Finally, my first official food truck experience in Omaha is complete! I really appreciate that PBJs posts their locations directly on their website… I am not on social media and a lot of other trucks seem to stick with social media avenue for advertising which I miss out on. Today I sampled the triple s, pb bj and honey Rosemary peanuts. First, this place definitely offers a unique experience here in Omaha and I appreciate that they keep their nut butters natural and not loaded with sugar — no reason to disguise the natural flavor. A bit more spice in the triple s would have been nice but overall how can you go wrong with jalapeño jam, cream cheese, bacon and peanut butter? Yumm! Honey rosemary peanuts are also a great snack. Overall, keep up the good work pbj’s! Looking forward to visiting you again soon.

I have been wanting to try this food truck for a while now, so the stars finally aligned and I was able to visit them at the Food Truck Brunch in the Blackstone District. I knew what I wanted because I had read their menu before. I was bummed when we walked up to the truck and saw that they had new«brunch» items on their menu and not their regular sandwiches. Fortunately I mentioned this and they were kind enough to ask which sandwich I was going to order and they said they had all the ingredients with them and would whip it up. So kind of them! I ordered the Triple S which is peanut butter, jalapeño jam, cream cheese and bacon. While the sandwich had interesting flavor and was good, it just didn’t seem to have the flavor I was anticipating. Oddly I could not taste the peanut butter due to all the cream cheese. The jalapeño jam was good with a little kick, but the bacon was soggy. I’m sure it would be hard to keep bacon crispy in this type of sandwich, but I just couldn’t really taste the bacon much either. My dining partner ordered the mini bagel breakfast sandwich and the deep fried bread pudding that I’m told was good. I look forward to giving them another try for sure. I think I’d customize my sandwich and have bacon, peanut butter and honey. Yum! I’d love to see a bacon, habanero or jalapeño raspberry jam and peanut butter sandwich. I think I may make one for dinner tonight! Best of luck to PBJ’s! See you soon!

This is not your ordinary food truck! It goes way beyond that! A friend and I both ordered something different — so we could try two things from the menu, because we were having a hard time narrowing down which item to get! Chipotle Burger(added bacon) — Single burger, great bun, cheese, slaw and chipotle sauce. AMAZING! It had a fantastic bun and great flavors. I’d like a little more of the chipotle sauce on it, but it was amazing! Chicken’ it out — Chicken, wheat ciabatta bun, cranberries, cheese. MORE than amazing! This was served warm — the bread was even warm(which was a nice surprise on this cool April day). Amazing flavors going on with the cheese and cranberries. We got«meals» and both were served with truffle chips — they were SO yummy! Lots of crunch and flavor! It didn’t feel heavy, or greasy… its like an upscale food truck. I thought the portions were perfectly fine, I ate, I’m full and I loved every bite! Dynomite! I can’t wait for them to come back around the office neighborhood again — I’ll definitely order the Chicken’ it out again!

AWESOME! Just stopped and tried the Chicken Sandwich, Triple S Sandwich and Truffle Chips — we were impressed with everything. They mix flavors that I would have never thought to mix and delicious barely scratches the surface of how good our lunch was. Can’t wait to go back and try the rest of the menu. Also — the people working were incredibly nice and helpful. Thank you!

The new burger definitely a hit! I liked it even better than I expected from the description. Amount of peanut butter perfect. Loved the crispy chipotle slaw. Definitely will be back for this!

I really love the idea of this food truck. I got The Tin Can and it was good but the flavors were unbalanced. It needed more bacon or less jam for my taste buds. Also it was hard to get over the burnt flavor of the chips. I got a few slightly less cooked ones and they were delicious. If I’m craving a sweet treat around lunch time, I might be back for the Elvis sandwich because you really can’t go wrong with that flavor combination.

Peanut Butter Johnny’s is probably one of the more unique food trucks I’ve encountered but damn, I’m sure glad I did. All of their sandwiches seems to involve some type of nut butter… and various other ingredients that sound completely odd on paper, but taste phenomenal. I can only really speak for the Triple S but it was DEEEEEE-LISH! Peanut butter, jalapeño jam, cream cheese, and bacon on challah bread. Sounds a little weird but trust me on this one, it was divine, and totally worth the clogged coronary artery that I’m sure it caused. The Tin Can and the Scriptwich sounded equally intriguing — will definitely be trying next time for sure!

I went to the food truck the other day downtown. They have a healthy selection for custom ingredients, but for a truck that was only available during lunch, I kind of wish they had another meat besides bacon because a lot of the combinations were almost dessert-like. They certainly had a couple savory options in the specialty sandwiches, though. I got there when about 10 other people were crowded around the truck, and it took a little extra time. Anyway, my custom sandwich with fancy cheese, fancy nut butter, and bacon cost a little over $ 6. The sandwich was sort of average in size, but the Havarti cheese and cashew butter were lovely together. Bacon seemed a little floppy, but to be fair it sat in its bag for 5 – 10 minutes as I carried it to my desk before munching on it. I wouldn’t come for a peanut butter jelly, but it’s a nice truck that has out-of-the-box ingredient combinations available for neatly prepared sandwiches. A good treat every once in a while. I probably need to try a specialty sandwich next time.

Fun, diverse menu that allows for great on the go food from a local food truck. Wonderful customer service and willing to adapt sandwiches to your needs. Being parked outside scriptown brewing company let’s people coming and going grab a sandwich.

Delicious and new concept for a food truck! I was meeting up with friends at Scriptown in the Blackstone District when I noticed the food truck parked out front. Every sandwich is made with peanut butter or other nut butters. I ordered the Modified Elvis, which is made with real Fluff(not marshmallow crème)!! My boyfriend ordered the Chicken It Out, and was packed with protein. Both were absolutely scrumptious! Not sure where they are located at other times of the week, but you can find Peanut Butter Johnny’s in the Blackstone District Thursday — Saturday nights for an easy and yummy dinner. They also have a deal on PinPoint.

The Tin Can sandwich I got was delicious(goat cheese, fig jam, honey, almond butter — yum!) So why the three stars? My main complaint is that the Tin Can, as well as the Triple S that my husband ordered, are both pretty small. If not for the beer I guzzled down along with the sandwich and kettle chips, I would’ve still been hungry for Dinner #2. Also, the peanut butter cookies were hard, not soft and chewy like I’d hoped they would be. Overall, Peanut Butter Johnny’s uses quality ingredients to make a great-tasting sandwich – I just wish the portion size was bigger!

We were so excited to try PB Johnny’s and were able to do so at the Unilocal event at Bench! I had the Triple S. It was soooooo good! The combo of bacon, jalapeño jam, peanut butter, and cream cheese is amazing. The truffle sea salt chips were crisp and so good. I can see why this truck would do well parked outside the brewery as it paired well with our beer provided at the event we were attending. My husband wanted to get the same sandwich as me, but wanted to try something else. He was skeptical about the Scriptwich, but was so happy he got because he loved it! Everything about it surprised him, from the taste to the texture. We will definitely be seeking them out again! Can’t wait to try more.

The spam and egg sandwich is delicious with its sweet and salty combo. Also their fluffernutter sandwich is almost more than I can handle.

Liver pâté on bread?! Yes, please. Adding Brie? Uhum. Walnut butter, too? Yum. I love the unusual yet delicious pairings. My tied-for-first favorite is the Triple S. Peanut butter, bacon and jalapeño jam. Great concept and all locally sourced. Wish we had one in Lincoln.

I went to PB Johnny’s for the first time on New Year’s Eve and picked up sandwiches to enjoy with my wife. Had the Scripwich and Modified Elvis(with bacon!!)…definitely some awesome food. We plan to go back soon for our date night!

My first encounter with Peanut Butter Johnny’s was in the Blackstone District(outside Scriptown Brewing Company) and I must say, «Wow, what a sandwich!» They serve uniquely toasted sandwiches featuring some locally sourced ingredients/beverages from Grey Plume and Big Mama’s. I went with the Triple S sandwich — what’s in it? Why it’s peanut butter, jalapeño jam, cream cheese and bacon on challah bread. It was toasted where the peanut butter melted slightly with the thick cut bacon and other ingredients. The sweet, salty, smoky, spicy, cheesy flavor was amazing! I had this with a side of «homemade truffle sea salt chips». These were cut medium thickness, large and crispy. Best of all, still warm as they were just cooked! I can’t wait to try their other intriguing sandwiches including: Chicken Little(walnut butter, Brie, chicken liver pâté on a baguette) and The Modified Elvis(peanut butter, Nutella, banana on white bread)!
