Mutual of Omaha

My mother had a policy for over 30 years with Mutual of Omaha Life Insurance. At the time of her death in December 2015 there were no problems. Check was issued within weeks. Now I refer all my friends and relatives who are looking for a trustworthy life insurance company to Mutual of Omaha.

i’m over the threatening letters from their senior specialist. my aunt is claiming the policy should be hers. so she is contesting my grandmothers policy. this has been going on over a year. it has caused nothing but stress and anxiety. the specialist will not speak with me but continues to send these letter claiming to send this matter to court if we can not come to an agreement.
after a year i finally gave in to this due to the stress. my aunt isnt intitled to anything however the previous change to this policy was my cousin and i. after going and spending the money to have this issue notorize i am suppose to be recieving another letter stating i need to send another notorized letter stating that i am splitting the money with my aunt. this was never in the last policy but this is what moo is allowing. they are completly disregarding my grandmothers wishes. i find this wrong and unlawful. they won’t return my calls in a timely matter nor when i do call does the specialist talk to me, but gives the message to the customer service rep to tell me «there is nothing i need to discuss with miss white. either she follows the letter or we can move forward with court. «how is any of this right?
dont do business here. they will only keep this money in their bank account to gain intrest all while threating to send it to court, and take $ 7,000 of the $ 10,000 for their lawyer fees.
which again is unfair and absolutely wrong and impractical. don’t do business here!

Very poor service and to much paperwork. All they are interested in is profits and not helping people. I got better rates with my Credit Union. I do not recommend Mutual of Ohama.

Looking for insurance? DON’T GO WITH MOO! I made the mistake of changing companies when my employer opened a second option for disability insurance coverage. Should have never made the switch. They have not only denied my claim despite a medical diagnosis and doctors notes and records, they play manipulative games in order to delay and misinform throughout the process. When someone is sick, the last thing they need is for a claims adjuster to act like she is on your side all while guiding you in the wrong direction. Let me explain: after being told I was «going to be denied» before receiving all requested and supporting documents, I asked to proceed with the denial in order to proceed to the next level of appeals. Why would someone call a sick individual and tell them they are «going to be denied» before it’s official?!? mind games? I’d say so! Then called by an appeals specialist who indicates I have the option to wait for all files to be received before proceeding with denial/​appeal. Ok! So I gather even more documentation, request letters from doctors, submit recipts, etc. follow up every couple of days to see that their request for docs has been received (which still haven’t been received because the requests dates keep changing and not being revived by my medical team). They call this a «courtecy review». I Keep getting lip service for over 2 weeks with different dates being indicated that requests were sent out, all later and later, until I get a call from a «supervisor». All my inquiries over the past 2+ weeks must have raised a red flag that I’m not going anywhere until the job is done. He proceeds to tell me that there is no such «courtesy review» since a denial was put in place (forced upon me due to prematurely stating that I was going to be denied). My only option is an appeal. Which I only get one shot at. Records still have not been received and dates are still not matching up. No one is following through with what they said they would do and it took over 2 weeks for them to figure this out! Now forced into my one shot at an appeal! Needless to mention, I’ve not been paid for a month now. Then I get an email saying my courtecy review is back on and dates for requested records changes gain. Further clarification on my part reveals they made a mistake in granting this review. No shit! Why it took 2 weeks to figure that out is beyond me. They thought I would forget that they owe me my claim money?! Now I’m being asked to submit prescription medication verification to prove I’m on medication. WTF? On the verge of harassment if you ask me.
WORST COMPANY TO DEAL WITH EVER!!! I had American Fidelity before them and they never gave me any questions or problems with short term disability. Whole new world with this monster of a company.

Please take your insurance needs elsewhere. Beware the rates and practices of this company and bank. Research for yourself with state regulators — I wish I had before buying their poor products. Customer service is non-​existent and technology solutions terribly dated.
