So here it is; even though I love the bread that they bake, I just found out that they use Bromated & Bleached flour that has been PROVEN to Cause CANCER! As a matter of Fact, it is illegal to use it in the EU& even in CHINA so that should be a word of warning to NOT buy from this bakery. & get this, unbleached & unbromated flour Cost 20% LESS that the Carcinogen flour! Also note, Oresti’s Italian also use the POISON as does most other big & small bakeries in Omaha. The up side is that Trader Joes & Whole Food doesn’t let it anywhere near their stores!

Love their sourdough rye bread. I just eat it plain, don’t even use it on sandwiches, it’s that good. The apple turnovers and kolaches have wonderful, buttery, flaky, not to sweet crusts.

The original torte is so decadent it should be illegal. It is one of the best desserts in the world. While you’re there check out their breads, the pumpernickel is amazing. The loaf is small but very heavy, hearty and delicious.

I’m not a bread person, but their bacon buns are a must. Also, really nice employees.

Labas(means hello in Lithuanian) I am a Lithuanian and I’ve been coming here since I could remember. I have to say the hazelnut torts top all the torts off! Apricot tort is the most popular around, but try a hazelnut next time you plan on going to the bakery. Make sure you pre order it so it’s fresh! It is more pricy but it’s worth it for your taste buds and your tummie. If you plan in having a gathering this torte will make everyone close their eyes and enjoy, you may just be the center of attention! The sour bread is perfect for bread and coffee, Or just a side with dinner. It’s so delicious! They also have cookies,(I call them pigs ears because they have a twist to them) but they are to die for! I recommend this place if you love Lithuanian food.

While it’s unassuming exterior makes it a little hard to find, this old school South Omaha bakery and deli oozes at the seem with character. I drove out here specifically to try their famous Napoleon Torte. They had two sizes of tortes available, one for $ 15 and one for $ 25. These are basically flaky, layered cakes with a hint of apricot that are very, very delicious. I recommend bringing one to a pot luck/party/family get together, you’ll have something for everyone to enjoy and rave about. And only 10 ingredients — preservative free! They also have a variety of pastry, cheeses, breads and oils. I’m looking forward to trying the noms at their café 74th and Pacific( ) one of these days.

The torte here is amazing and has been a family tradition for many years. Love that my Dad sent this to my husband and I in Chicago. It arrived perfect and delicious!

Amazing pastries, amazing bread, and the most amazing Napoleon Torte! Everyone that I have shared it with RAVES about it. The South Omaha location, I believe is celebrating 50 years in the business this year. That’s a pretty good accomplishment for a family owned business. One taste and you will know why!

THEMOSTAMAZINGTORTE but the WORST customer service, business operations and overall organization! Ordered a delicious torte to be shipped to PA for my boyfriend’s Bday via phone. The woman provided no type of tracking, confirmation, or receipt. Simply took my CC info and the shipping address. When asked what my total would be, I was told $ 25 and was also provided a delivery date. A few weeks later I saw a charge on my CC for closer to $ 50 from the bakery. When I called the same woman was very rude and short on the phone, as if my scenario/inquiry was the biggest nuisance of her day. She informed me that in shipping was additional, which I pointed out she should have simply given me the TOTAL when i asked for the total. She got very disgruntled and said several people take orders and she would have no idea who took my order and gave me that incorrect information. It was her, but I didnt mention it and just said thank you. One day after the cake was supposed to be delivered I emailed the recipient to see if it had arrived. I was told it hadnt. And once again, when I called and spoke to the same woman she was very rude and indifferent to my situation. I just can’t believe it todays era of technology a customer is not provided a receipt, tracking/shipping information or any type of customer service! The same woman who took my order and guaranteed delivery by Monday, 12⁄17 now told me they NEVER deliver on mondays bc they do not ship over the weekends. So unorganized and so unprofessional! Im currently waiting to «hear back» from them since they simply could not help me over the phone. Such a mess, not worth it for their delicious tortes.

No equal… the torte rules. Sent these as Christmas gifts and without exception rave reviews from our family friends and clients… a tradition that will continue!

OMG. I am OBSESSED with their Napoleon Torte. It’s been a family tradition to have a Napoleon Torte whenever there’s a birthday. I’ve seriously grown up on these. They’re so good, especially since my family’s not big on overly-sweet frosting dense cakes. The Napoleon Torte is basically alternating layers of apricot preserves and this sweet cream. It’s sososo good. They also have these shortbread cookies that are to die for. They’re soooo good. All I need in life are their Napoleon Tortes and shortbread cookies.

The napoleon torte has been a birthday staple in my family for years, abetted by the fact that they ship to California. The torte is incredibly rich, and I take perverse pleasure in watching people who are new to it take thick slices they won’t be able to finish.

I’ve never been in the actual bakery, but I can attest to the quality of their chocolate raspberry torte — and only the torte. It was the staple of my childhood birthday parties for years and years. Sometime I need to actually go there and write a more detailed review.

I did go in this time, and had a pastry and coffee. Very friendly staff, helped me pick out some bread, cheese, and brats. Yummmm… The chocolate-raspberry Napoleana was a let-down, though. No where near as good as the other kind(lemon?). My husband is not a big pumpernickel fan, so I ended up using the rest of the loaf for a kid’s art project(birdseed ornaments).

I went looking for this place based on the review. However this is my take on it. 1. Lithuanian Sourdough Rye: What a great idea!!! However the execution here leaves alot of room for improvement. First, the loaf I pick out was over cooked and very dry. I ended up going to the other store because I wanted individual torte slices, and the lady was kind enough to exchange it for a lighter but not overcooked loaf. If you ever had San Franciscan sourdough, you know that very sharp flavor and aroma. This bread had no trace of sourdough. My advice to the baker is to check the sourdough starter… it’s not sour dough anymore. The rye part of this bread was also very weak. So what could have been spectacular turned out to be a very bland loaf of bread I also tried a variety of pasteries like the apple dumpling, the round crunchy pastry, a hard stick that looked like a Lithuanian version of churro. Overall, the pastries had a very pronounced flour taste and texture to all the foods. They were good but not spectacular.
