I go to Downings on a regular basis with a couple of work friends and always find every aspect of the visit to be a pleasant experience. The food is great, the prices are right and the hospitality is superb. Despite a great dine in experience I can also say that Downings offers an amazing catering service. Recently, they prepared a lunch for my staff of 60 people. they showed up with enough food to feed 100. Everything was home cooked and the salads were very fresh. Like their dine in prices their catering is very reasonable. If you are near 120th& Blondo around lunch time I highly recommend Downings

Was looking for a quick bite today and stopped off at this deli. The person behind the counter was extremely nice and courteous. The setting is quaint and cozy; nothing spectacular. I ordered a large tuna on sourdough, the soup of the day(Cream of Potato), Lays chips, and a large drink. To my surprise, the sandwich was HUGE. No joke. Tuna was fresh and cold. Topped off a crisp pickle. The soup was hot and very yummy. No need to add any seasoning. The owner asked me how the sandwich was and I told him, «Absolutely delicious.» Forgot to mention… total cost for a humongous tuna sandwich, decent size cup of soap, large drink, and bag of chips? Less than $ 10! Unreal. Big thumbs up and will revisit regularly.

Just a basic sandwich shop. Not what I consider a true deli. Some ulgy wall paper and weird pictures of former Miss Nebraska winners and politicians adorn the walls. The person making my sandwich recommended the Club, so I went with it. Basic club on marble bread with lettuce, tomato and a little musturd, mayo, oil and vinegar. Nothing really to say about it. Tasted like what I might make at home and that’s probably because they mostly use the same form pressed meats you find at the big box grocery stores. There was, however, a faint taste of onion and/or jalapeo on my sandwich; possible juice contamination from the previous sandwich he made? Though I didn’t get any, they do serve ice cream that is a premium blend provided by Roberts Dairy. I would have given them 2 stars for being so completely average, but the price($ 3.52 after tax) bumped them up to the above average mark, so 3 stars until Unilocal starts allowing ½ stars.
