China Buffet

We go here whenever we have the craving for quick Chinese because it’s right across the street from our house. The Mongolian ingredient selection is pretty awesome! It’s one of our favorite things to get and if you get it as a takeout box it’s a pretty cheap and tasty meal. The buffet is decent, pretty standard Chinese buffet. Again, we prefer to use a takeout box because it’s much cheaper than dining in. The servers are pretty meh, I always feel like I’m waiting around for refills or a check when we dine in. Lastly the delivery menu is pretty standard too.

Amazing. Cheap and good service. Super satisfied with all the types of food. Egg roll, sesame, sweet and sour, grill all amazing.

So many regrets by going here. Place smells awful. Some of the food is good but most is your typical buffet menu. You’re not saving any money so you might as well go to a better quality place.

This place is top notch and by far my favorite place to get Americanized Chinese food. However, I go here for the crab they have on Friday and Saturday nights. For $ 11 bucks a person it’s all you can eat and oh boy do we eat. We tend to get like 4 plates of crab and I’ll maybe get a piece of cake. I go here just to eat crab.
So why only 4 stars? Well as much as it pains me to do so I’ve had a few issues.
Don’t go here when it isn’t busy. This is true of ANY buffet, but the food can be a bit eh if you do. The service can be really bad. In my opinion the waiters pick who to serve best on who they think they’ll get the best tip out of and this really grinds my gears. I shouldn’t have to wait 30 minutes for a glass of water. Service aside the main issue I’ve had was with other guests.
Let me explain, I have food allergies and even though it’s not the smartest thing to eat at a buffet I am usually able to take the chance. My favorite not crab item is the lo mein noodles, I could eat one big plate of it and feel super happy. (I have been to several states, no one makes them as good as they do). That being said, someone accidentally dumped their plate in there. The logical thing to do would have been to get a new thing of noodles, which they did, but they scrapped most of the old noodles in there while trying to remove what they could and used the old tongs. That just seems pretty gross to me.
Not only gross, but bad for me as what I’m allergic to (mushrooms) was dumped in the food. In a non rude way both myself and my husband brought it to the attention of the manager (who might have been the owner? I am unsure). Had it been ANY other manager they wouldn’t have been rude as we used to eat there at least once a week. This lady however called myself and then my husband a liar. We then refused to pay for my portion of the meal since I had lost my will to eat (I had only eaten like a bite of chicken and that was it). She was very nasty about it, but didn’t push the subject.
We have gone back since this happened and haven’t had any real issues, but this still sticks with me when we go.
So in short: if you see a line outside the door YES it’s worth the wait, if there isn’t much business maybe skip it & be very careful if you have allergies.
Oh and before I forget, the grill part is pretty good, but the guy that usually cooks it doesn’t speak very good English (he’s Hispanic) and again with food allergies, you need to be VERY clear on «clean utensils». Usually they will track down a serve to translate for you and it can be embarrassing, but it works.

LOVED THIS PLACE! Normally when I get Chinese food, it’s from Panda Express (not my favorite) and this time I wanted something more and I got it! They had an awesome Sushi bar– the only thing wrong was that it had no labels so I had no idea what was what. Other then that the food was good and the place was clean. Nice décor and what seemed to me like the perfect staff! They were super friendly and made me and my boyfriend feel like valued customers. I will definitely be going back and I recommend anyone who wants good food and great service to go here to.

I love this place! The food is really good considering it’s a buffet. The only thing I don’t like is that it always seems hot in here. I recommend this place for anyone that likes Chinese food!

The food is great. The service was not. I had asked the staff in front for a togo box and explained that I had bariatric surgery. This would allow me to eat with my family instead of just sitting there. They agreed and gave me a box. I got some food together and went upfront to pay for it while the rest of my family plated up. Another staff member came up and said that it would not be possible to eat the food in the restaurant. This was embarrassing to me due to the tone of the conversation and was not my fault in the slightest. The staff then inquired if I would still like to purchase the food. After this I declined to do so. The staff would rather throw the food in the trash than agree to let me eat it as a one time exception. I sat down with the rest of my family and did not eat. I know its not a big deal to most but they treated me poorly and I will not be returning.

Been awhile since we have been here and now I know why. The crab legs are decent but all the other food is just gross and it all tastes the same. We are very disappointed and never going back. The service was horrible and they act like they are doing you a favor. No more buffets in my future.

Great food! The Mongolian BBQ is especially good. Good sesame chicken too!
We’ve been several times now, and they have had good consistent service.

I love this place. I’ve tried other buffets but always come back to this one. The staff is nice and the place is big enough that we don’t have to wait too long for a table. Everything but the mushrooms is delicious but that’s just because I don’t like mushrooms in general. We were there tonight and the food was perfect as always.

Okay, let me preface this by saying I’ve been to this restaurant many times and had great service. This is mostly about last week (11.21.13.)
I went with a group of 12 co-​workers for lunch. The food was hot, there was plenty of it and it was tasty. Where things fell down was on service and blatantly mischarging my credit card!
About halfway through lunch, the waiter took my glass to refill it. It was the last time I saw it even after I mentioned my refill at least 3 times and was assured it was coming. They charge you $ 1.99 for sodas knowing you will get several refills. I didn’t pay $ 1.99 for a single serving!
When our bill arrived an automatic 15% gratuity was added for our large party (really, 15% for someone to clear away plays and refill drinks) which I would normally give anyway. Given my lackluster service, I discounted the tip $ 1.00, wrote a note on the receipt as to why, put down the new total and signed it. A few days later I checked online and noticed they’d charged me the original bill amount! Fortunately I took a picture of my bill with my cell phone prior to leaving! I plan on taking this up with my credit card company.
This restaurant has lost me as a customer.

As far as Chinese buffets go, this is about as good as it gets! They have all of the staples that make a great buffet, as well as a Mongolian grill where they grill your food fresh in front if you. They also have sushi, which is normally a no no at a buffet, but theirs is actually pretty decent. My favorite items are the yum yum chicken (which is all white meat), crab rangoon, fried rice, and the low mien noodles. Even if you usually hate buffets, you should really give this one a chance!

Beware!!! My family just went to eat here and before we sat down my husband went to the men’s room. He saw an employee come out of a bathroom stall and walk right out without washing his hands! Then we watched him walk to the kitchen! Our party of 10 walked right out and went elsewhere. Too bad. We used to give them a lot of business. We won’t anymore.

This is the first chinese buffet I have eaten at in probably a couple years. Back home there was a good chinese buffet on every corner so I haven’t found one that drew me in since moving away.
My wife and I were recently grabbing some food over in the same plaza China Buffet is in and the smell of the buffet hooked both of us. We were able to hold off that night, but within a week we had to head over there and give it a shot.
It’s tough to differentiate chinese buffets and it could be due to my chinese buffet depravation, but this among the best I’ve had. Every type of meat I tried was excellent, the rice, crab rangoons, egg rolls, noodles, etc… was all delicious. Usually I like to discuss a particular dish I tried, but in typical buffet fashion, I loaded up a few plates on a little bit of everything over my dining experience here.
I’ve always stayed away from sushi at these types of places, but I tried it here. It was actually decent, but if you want sushi, go to a sushi restaurant… don’t come here for the sushi.
It seems like it’s getting mixed reviews so far on here, but I didn’t experience any of the negatives mentioned. The place was clean, the food was hot, fresh, and replenished quickly.

It’s tough to have bad service at a buffet but this place accomplished it. We had to ask multiple times for refills, plates weren’t removed and we had to wait on the check.
Some of the food was quite good — the broccoli chicken was surprisingly good — but most was standard, fried buffet fare. That’s expected.
I see a mention that the buffet is clean — that’s not at all what I experienced and saw. I saw kids running around, sticking their hands on food and dishes and even sticking their fingers up the ice cream machine. One was licking crumbs off of a serving dish. I told a worker there and she just laughed. I saw nothing to give me confidence in even basic sanitary procedures.

I love this place and frequent at least once a week. Thank you Hong for a great environment, with great food.

I had the predictable experience of eating way beyond my means, while my conscience, sense of self preservation and common decency all took a break together somewhere and didn’t speak up until I was finishing up my third plate (you know the buffet trinity — appetizers, main courses, desserts).
Anyway… afterwards we were all just sick. Food was of an acceptable quality, but it’s overall pretty standard fare. I guess a good time if you want lots of options with which to stuff your craw.
