I’ve been with the 24 Hour Fitness on Sprague for about 6 months now. I don’t like to think of myself as the kind of person that goes online to leave malicious reviews about businesses, but I feel compelled to publicly acknowledge some of the ongoing problems at this location that will hopefully be resolved in the next couple of months. First, the good: The facility is clean. The people are nice. There are competitive bodybuilders as well as your average Johns and Janes. It’s large and usually not too crowded for a commercial gym. It’s also a really nice building. The bad: A lot of the equipment is terrible. And when I say«terrible,» I don’t mean it in the pretentious powerlifter sense of «They don’t even have a safety squat bar!» I mean they have about eight barbells, and all but two are bent. Those two that aren’t bent are barely usable because of their poor quality. Moreover: One squat rack. Need I say more? That said, there are some really nice Hammer Strength machines that a lot of gyms can’t afford. The trainers are whatever: Half are great, half are clueless. That’s probably better than you’ll find at most commercial gyms. The ugly: New management that has taken over since the LA Fitness was bought out(?), in my opinion, has no idea what it’s doing. In the past week, probably more than $ 10,000 in custom 24 Hour fixtures, posters, and branding has been installed. Meanwhile, there are no usable barbells. Most of the pulley attachments are terribly designed. For a place full of hundreds of machines, it amazes me how many basics are missing. There are at least two«Vertical Traction» machines, whatever those are, but not a fly/reverse fly, a pullover, or even a preacher curl machine. Meanwhile, management is content ripping off its members and selling 5 lb tubs of ON Whey for $ 89.99. I will continue using the 24 Hour Fitness at this location. It’s the only complete gym within 40 blocks of my house. But if there were any other options, I would leave in a heartbeat. I only hope that management will take some of this criticism to heart moving forward.

24 hour recently acquired this facility which used to be LA fitness which was urban active before that. This location is phenomenal and if you are debating between this location and the one on 120th — GOHERE! The facility is clean, updated, bright and spacious. 2 floors with floor to ceiling Windows on each level. Cardio equipment faces the Windows which is nice. Lots and lots of class offerings all through the the early morning, day and night. I have tried several and love them all. Indoor track, kick boxing bags and more. It is so nice to have a nice/updated 24 hour location to visit. The amenities alone are motivating to get fit!
