Such a fun place to watch the hawks game! and all day happy hour on Sundays! Food was pretty good too. Chowder, french onion soups, fries, all well done. loved the service too. the patrons made the game a ton of fun and the owner is raffling stuff off each game! super cool overall. Loved my experience there and will be back.

A good local bar with cheap beer on tap, live music sometimes, and an atmosphere where you can actually have a conversation. Nothing fancy or chiche, just a place to go after work. Some snack things with good vegan options.

WOW! This doesn’t even begin to describe how FANTASTIC the food was. I had heard rumor this place was great, however, with two kiddos we never had the opportunity, we are going to have to figure out a way to make it here more often. Husband had a burger, fresh, fast, great fries. I had the parmesan crusted ham and cheese. Best sandwich EVER! I can’t even describe how much I loved this. Can’t wait to go back again. Great service, fair prices.

I really love this place. I’m not going to give it a 5, yet, because my burger has been a little overdone once or twice. Usually, though, the White Cheddar Burger Dip with fries is a solid choice. The place is clean but unpretentious, friendly and attentive but not pushy. Good place to catch a game. It’s also a good place for a happy hour when you’re sure how many people are going to show up; it’s usually pretty easy to get a table, and the tables are all pretty close to each other. Definitely one of my favorite places in Olympia!

Honest, no pretensions, vibrant, a lot of oomph. I love me a bar like this, and if I lived closer to The Westside Tavern, I’d be a frequent flyer. I underestimated it before my first visit, expecting just the usual, basic bar fare. Boy, was I wrong. This is more than just that. I’ve been able to sample a number of items during the two trips I have made so far, and it’s evident a lot of thought went into their menu-planning. First, five words for you: BACONJALAPEÑOMACANDCHEESE. If you need me to explain further, you’re not winning at life. You need this, like yesterday. I’m serious. That’s not all, though. The Westside’s fish and chips are so good, you’d want to build your next Olympia trip itinerary around them. The second time I was there I had to get two orders of these babies just for myself. Their batter is better than many places I’ve tried that are supposed to be specializing in fish and chips. The pork belly nachos are also a winner. So are the frickles. And the jalapeño corn cake? Bomb. Bomb all over. There’s ample parking, too, and staff members are really cool. Awesome loudness and energy during Seahawks games for sure! It doesn’t feel douchey — it’s a really good crowd. If you’re a 12 in the area, and this is the type of atmosphere you’re looking for, you’d be wrong not to check out The Westside. Next time I go, I’m having one of their award-winning burgers!

This place is awesome! Food and service have always been top notch! Any eating establishment would be encouraged to see how Dean and Lisa run this bar. Over 100 people there on Saturday for a fundraiser, this means the servers and chefs had their hands full for 3 hours or more, yet it was like there were only a few customers! Service… phenomenal! Food… excellent! Biker friendly!

Used to love the Westside! Easily the best bar food you could get in Olympia. But lately their food has been terrible, burnt dry and not the award winning burgers that they used to be. I’m not sure if the old cook left but who ever made my food the last few times has ducked up hard core! Yuck!

We had dinner here. My husband got the Westside Burger and said it was alright – too rich. I had the burger dip. Also alright but, left me feeling a little nauseous later in the evening. Their tartar sauce — way too much dill in it. I couldn’t eat it myself but, if you’re obsessed with dill, order up. Also, our ketchup — served from a bottle — was super watery. It was like they filled the bottle with water. I have heard of restaurants watering down condiments to save money but, had never been seriously suspicious of it actually happening until now.

This is by far our favorite local tavern. We first and foremost value the service(wherever we go), and we always receive the BEST service from our fav Vickie. We have followed her wherever she has gone, she is a bright light and top notch. That being said we also love, the food, atmosphere and appreciate that they change their menu from time to time. The Westside rocks it, if you haven’t tried it you must.

It’s loud in here! This place is so metal, my blood iron levels went up almost 300 points! It’s loud, faintly smells like beer and a public restroom had a child. Service is great though. Nice people. The food is really good here too!

My girlfriend and I explored at least ten different bars around the Olympia area to find the best place to watch Seahawks games, and finally we found the Westside Tavern. The crowd is energetic, loud and very friendly/welcoming, the service always great, and there are free raffles at halftime every week. Over the last couple years, we have won pint glasses, a PBR sleeping bag, and all sorts of Seahawks swag. This place has an impressive rotating beer list, and really good food too! In addition to the bar essentials like burgers and fries which they do very well, you’ll find more unique items on the menu. I highly recommend the portobello fries, followed by some fish tacos. If you haven’t discovered the deliciousness of cotija cheese, let these fish tacos teach you! I never thought I would become a «regular» at any bar… but they know me by name now, as well as my typical orders. So if the hawks are playing and tickets remain $ 400 bucks a pop, you know what bar I’ll be at.

BEST ‘HAWKSBARINOLY! Owners Dean and Lisa put together the best bar staff and menu around! Yeah, sometimes you might have to wait if you sit at a table if they’re busy, so belly up to the bar!(Geez, some people…; seriously, if you’ve never worked the service industry you have NO clue how hard it is) I am constantly recommending my clients and friends to come here. I love how every demographic is represented here whether it’s bikers, college kids, ‘Hawkers, etc. Great food& people, pool and fun! !Keep up the great work guys! ! GOHAWKS! :) ~Mark and Patti

Stopped in on our way back to Seattle. Great burgers and beer selection. Even great vegetarian options as well. I would have given 5 stars but the forgot a few things that we ordered. But would recommend!

So so, might be willing to come back and try something besides the burgers. Wife had the tacos and said they were good. My burger on the other hand was over cooked and the onions on it under cooked. Service was slow even though there was no crowd. Not sure what the staff was doing, but they were not active out at the tables.

We went to Westside Tavern for a late dinner on Saturday night. We arrived at 9 pm and ordered by 9:15 when our server came back to our table. The atmosphere started out low key and then progressively got louder and louder. By 10:30 we were looking for our food since it had been over an hour, and we wanted to leave at that point since the drunk chick at the next table kept yelling and talking about how her boyfriend could kick people’s assess. Our food finally arrived and it was delicious although we wish that the sliders were flatter because the meat look more like a meatball than meat patty. The fries are especially delicious. They have happy hour all day and all night on Sundays. Would I return? Maybe during the day, for the food. I didn’t get to try the deep fried pickles. It’s not my idea of a low key evening, though.

First off I have been to The Westside Tavern a bunch of times and never had a rude waitress. Im not sure what the people in the other reviews are talking about but rude has never been a problem. Sometimes it takes a little longer to get drinks than I would like but that is about par for the course for every bar I have been to. Second, The food is incredible! It doesn’t matter what you order but my favorite is the westside burger with a side of jalapeño mac & cheese. The clam chowder is the best in town! I really enjoy going in and having a great meal with an ever changing lineup of beer choices. I highly recommend this place and just advise to be patient with the wait time on getting refills. You’re not the only one getting served ya know!
