State of the Arts Gallery

I really enjoy this store. I don’t think of it so much as a gallery, since there is far more than art work here. There are prints and photos, but lots of interesting and unique jewelry, great cards, ties, ceramics, bowls, and more. This is a go to place for me for finding a gift for my mom. Don’t forget to go upstairs.

Store has a nice selection of local art. Includes paintings, sculpture, the odd weaving and jewelry.
I didn’t give it more stars because when I went inquiring about a specific painting, the owner told me it had been sold. That’s fair enough. But I asked her if it was possible to contact the artist to see if there was a possibility of getting a similar, and she gave me a flat no, no can do.
So, I went home and googled the artist, and after three e-​mails & a bank draft for ONE QUARTER of the gallery’s asking price, I had an exact original copy of the painting I was after.
Is it the gallery’s job to help me find another painting or get in touch with the painter? No, of course not, but if they had, I would have happily bought the painting through them (maybe even at a higher price) and they would have gotten a cut of the $$. Their loss.

Art from local artists. Paintings, jewelry, postcards. Nice corner spot, as well.
