Get the lunar eclipse but with red sauce. Amazing! Love the crust, Love the sauce, and they really hook you up with the toppings. So happy I found this place! I was starting to get frustrated with the pizza joints in Olympia I feel that most of them are just so so… Wagner’s pizza annex nailed it!

The fact that I work half a block from the Pizza Annex shouldn’t sway me. It’s just so darn good. So convenient. I love it! The TJ’s extreme is my favorite. Pepperoni sausage mushroom onion and black olive. Oh, and let’s not forget jalapeños! Super solid good take and bake pizza place. Love it. Good prices and great pizza baked at home. I’m amazed each time I get a pizza from here. Yum!

Love the pizza, and I eat here often. It’s just the kind of pizza I like and I don’t think the prices are terribly high.

The pizzas are sold by the slice or you can order a whole one. I came here with several friends. I thought their pizza by the slice was just ok. I had a slice of All Jacked Up and it was somewhat dry(perhaps from being in the display case for too long). My friend ordered a 16 inch pizza. There was some special where that pizza is just $ 9.99 so she got a lot of pizza to take home. I suppose if you enjoy plain, one topping pizza this is a ok. The place is really tiny so it’s not really good for groups.

The medium to family size pizza ranges from $ 13.95 to $ 19.95, and the diameters are 12″ to 16″. I only had an individual slice of Spicy Thai pizza. It was OK, I had no qualms about it. It was just plain. I don’t know if having pineapple, coconut shavings, and cashews really qualifies as «Thai» but for a kind of retro small pizzeria, the Pizza Annex is really not bad.

This was a solid experience for me! I was hoping form some mom-and-pop pizza, and my wish was granted! Grandma Pizza was very helpful and friendly. I ordered a lunch time special of a slice of pizza and a cookie and a bottle of water. It was inexpensive, and the best part was the pizza didn’t look nearly as good and BIG as when she put the slice of pizza on my plate. It was muuuch bigger than I’d expected, so I was happy about that(kinda, always mixed emotions with that much cheese). I’ll eat here again when I go back into town for business in two weeks. I ate at about half a dozen places in Olympia this last week, and this was my favorite little spot!

Yum! Vic’s GF pizza = bean-based THICK crust — no movement and nasty aftertaste. Garlic Jims = In Lacy — WAY too far and not eat-in. i.talia = TOTAL cross-contact NIGHTMARE for someone who is truly gluten-intolerant or has Celiac Sprue like myself.(And can I say this: also completely UNWILLING to hear about it)

Stopped by for quick lunch with my gluten intolerant friends and was pleasantly surprised by 12″ GF dough and pizza that was very good. It is not easy to find a GFP(gluten free pizza) with dough that is not cardboard. Good selection of meaty toppings and non-meaty alternatives. Service was unpretentious and truthful(recommended not buying the large GF as it is made by other source that doesn’t match the 12″ quality). Always in need of quick GFP — I’ve got this place on my quick list.

I added a star because any pizza joint in WA that offers pizza by the slice has a NY heart. It’s not as good as Old School or Vics but it’s way ahead of Pizza Hut or mass produced pizza. Since it’s owned by the Wagner bakery next door, they make their own dough. If you have business on with your legislature in Olympia, this might be your quickest lunch stop other than Meconi’s(but you can’t eat sandwiches every day!).

After walking by this place for a week, I finally decided to give it a try. Quick order, good service, but the price was out of control. After a decent(25%) tip, I spent nearly $ 30 on one large pizza! NOTHANKS! Moving on… once the pie was ready, it was delicious. The toppings were all high quality and well-thought out, in good proportion to each other. The pizza itself gets four stars. However, the crust was so-so. It only gets 2 stars. If you’re trying to sell a gourmet pizza, sell it with a gourmet crust! Try throwing some buttermilk or sourdough or ANYTHING into that crust for a little flavor. They doughiness/chewiness/crispiness/flakiness of the crust was perfect: no flaws there, but the overall crust flavor was boring and bland, it was just there to hold toppings. The restaurant itself was nice; clean and crisp, and the staff was great, helpful and courteous. I liked the stools and bar that look out over Capitol way, it’s a great people-watching space. I can see myself stopping in for a single slice on the go fairly regularly, but unless they correct their pricing, I don’t think I’ll ever order a whole pie from the Pizza Annex again.

Wandering past, searching to cure my hunger pangs, the austerity and novelty of this new pizza place enticed me to give it a go. Speaking briefly with the person behind the counter, I was rather excited to hear that this place was a sister eatery to Wagner’s, whose desserts I love(thus the name«annex»). Sadly enough, this place did not deliver. The pizza had a very heavy crust, and dense toppings. Granted, i had ordered the slice that had been sitting in the rotating warmer for who knows how long. Not only that, I’m a rather slow eater, and by the time that I got through part of the slice, the cheese had congealed into a hard shell that wasn’t very pleasant. All in all, the pizza was subpar, but the place itself was very clean and had good service.

From the owner’s of Wagner’s and in the spot that was The Daily Grind comes Olympia’s newest pizza spot — Pizza Annex. Pizza Annex has a crisp looking interior, a few spots for sitting inside, and a number of stereotypical Italian looking signs with mustachioed men advertising pizza on the street and inside. Gander at their menu and they advertise«only the finest meats and cheeses, fresh prouce, unbleached flour, extra virgin olive oil, we make the dough and NEVER use transfats». When it comes to the taste of the actual food I’m very much reminded of Wagner’s sandwiches. It’s not that there is anything necessarily wrong with the two places, it’s just that there’s nothing that stands out. Standard ingredients on plain bread/dough with a hefty price tag. There’s been a lot of really great pizza cooking in Olympia lately and this place just doesn’t live up to what’s happening around it. Between the innovative and extraordinarily tasty delights of Al Forno Ferruzza, the very simple yet divine Sicilian style pizzas from Trinacria, the fun creations from Underground Pizza, and the standby slices from Vic’s and Old School, I simply don’t see a need for a new place in town that calls a Garlic Chicken pizza«gourmet» and charges $ 23 for a 16-inch pie.
