This was a great restaurant that I discovered this past weekend! Earlier in the weekend I had a kind of disappointing Chile Relleno at another restaurant and was hoping that if I gave it another whirl. I was pleasantly surprised that the Chile Relleno combo that I had here was awesome! The Chile Rellenos here are more Latin American in style than Mexican but that is ok! They were wonderful! The combo also came with rice and beans. Both tasted great as well. Sometimes the beans in these combo platters can be stale and lack flavor but that was not the case here. There is complimentary chips and salsa as well. The salsa is delightful and has an appropriate amount of spice and is very fresh. Mi Pueblo is a great restaurant which is more in the Lacey area than Olympia, despite the address.

We were driving from Seattle to Portland & wanted good Mexican food; we checked Unilocal and found over 210 great reviews for Mi pueblo. Oscar, our waiter, was friendly, service was excellent, and the arroz con polo and arroz con canaries did not disappoint. We will be back!

At first I was excited. The place has 4.8 stars and it was fairly busy – though there was plenty of wait staff(our server was pretty noncommittal to her job). There was cojita cheese on top of the enchiladas! And the excitement died after that first bite. It didn’t just die. Rather, it made that farty, leaky balloon sound. Two stars because the only thing worth eating were the beans, rice, and salsa. The Jalisco enchiladas(with ground beef) were inedible and the only discernible spice used was black pepper. Seriously. Maybe I should have asked for a cup of their salsa to dump on my dinner. I thought that maybe«Jalisco» at this place meant«for people with that think black pepper is spicy», so I tried my husband’s and they, too, were depressing. The service sucked. We waited 15 minutes for our iced tea(after we sat there for at least that long after we were seated), and I stopped checking my watch while we waited to order. I’m finally giving up on finding a Mexican food restaurant in this area that doesn’t suck.

FINALLY! A fantastic mexican restaurant. SOOO tired of the Azteca’s and Puerto Vallarta’s and the hundred mexican restaurants that don’t have dishes like Chile Verde, Albondigas, and Ceviche. Everything we ordered was delicious! Four different salsa, all of them were bomb! The Carnitas were perfectly crispy, the Chile Verde was one of the best I have ever had, and they are not cheap with the meat. Monster Margarita’s too! Huge choice of dishes, and Menudo every day of the week! Definitely a new favorite.

Love this place! Can’t believe we haven’t been here sooner. Food is great and staff is friendly and inviting. My boyfriend was even happier than me with his torta Cubana. This place is a must if you are in need of some great authentic Mexican food.

Ate here yesterday with my husband. Just moved into town, and wanted to try authentic Mexican food and saw their pictures online so my husband chose this spot. Our waitress was a sweetheart and the restaurant is very colorful and welcoming. The food was amazing! My plate could have fed two men, I had to take home leftovers! We are very pleased and definitely bringing my family here when the visit in June!

Chips and salsa=amazing. Tacos weren’t great. I eat a lot of tacos and these were bland and the meat wasn’t amazing.

The absolute best food north of the Mexico border. The Alvarez family work together and making this restaurant one of the finest places that one can dine in.

We had Pollo con Puna, Vegetarian Burrito and Carnitas con Guacamole. You had a choice of three types of beans. Service was fast, and friendly. Restaurant was clean. Food was excellent, and plentiful. One dish can feed two people. Why 4 stars? Although the dining room is wheelchair accessible, the path to the bathrooms are not. I would knock off a half star if I could.

Momma/Daughter lunch date. Whole meal kids lunch plus drink and my chimichanga. $ 15. SALSAISTHEBEST… and I know salsa. It’s my obsession. My chimichanga was very flavorful and the rice and beans were good too. Cute place and staff is super friendly and attentive. Better than any other Mexican place in oly/lacey area.

Wanted some good Mexican food so I asked a Mexican friend to recommend a place for me and she told me I couldn’t go wrong with Mi Pueblo. The salsa that came with chips was good… It had spice to it which a lot of other places seem to lack. The ordered the polla a la pina.(Chicken with Pineapple). It came with tortillas. It was really good! I loved the chicken and pineapple combo. My friend ordered a burrito… It was HUGE! I’ll have to try one next time!

The service here was great, family oriented servers and very patient and accommodating for large groups Best Mexican food in town, plenty of beer and drink selections There is an entire vegetarian menu and everything here was seasoned to perfection, including the meat and vegetarian dishes Great choice for family dining and small groups!

Thank goodness I found this place! It will be hard to visit just about anywhere else in town after my meal at Mi Pueblo. I’m a huge fan of tamales, and though some restaurants might serve one on the side of a meal, I was so excited to see a meal that included multiple tamales in either chicken or pork. They were so fresh, you could tell they had been made recently and not frozen and thawed. It was also immediately evident that their tortillas are made in house, which after tasting, will make eating any other kind nearly impossible. One of the interesting features was that a cook was featured at the counter, preparing food freshly as it was ordered. I loved being able to see the food prepared before you, so you know it’s being made with care. From the outside, the restaurant looks unassuming, and even quite small. From the parking lot, I thought they only had a few tables. However, when you walk in, you see many booth seating options, and even an extra room for large groups. The restaurant doesn’t seem to focus much on decorations, in the way that some of the other restaurants do, but the quality of the food makes up for where ambience lacks. Though stuffed after my meal, I was already making plans to come back before our check arrived at the table!

We just moved here from Southern Arizona, where good Mexican food is bountiful. When we first walked in, they were super busy, but had a few tables for us to seat ourselves. They were quick to bring menus and water/margaritas. My husband and I split the Molcajete and it was AMAZINGGGG. We even had plenty of left overs. The waiters were very hard working and as attentive as possible. I cannot wait to go back!

Facility/Cleanliness — 1 Food — 2 Customer service — 3 The first time I ate their food, I had ordered it to go and thought the reason it might not have been that great was because I had to reheat it at home… But, in all actuality, that wasn’t the case. I ordered the chimichanga and enchilada combo. I hate lettuce so I ordered this without the veggies. The chimichanga was crispy and flaky, more of a pastry dough than a tortilla. It was weird, but the filling was even weirder. The filling did have chicken in it but it also had an assortment of veggies like carrots and celery… It was like eating a chicken pot pie– Mexican style. It was okay, just not what I was expecting. The enchilada was not tasty and I’m almost positive that it had the same filling as the chimichanga. Hah! The rice was soggy and bland. The beans were… Well, beans. This place is a hot mess — not sure if they are in the middle of a construction or what, but black tarps cover the walls, seats have tears in them, tables weren’t clean and dirty napkins are all over. My utensils weren’t properly cleaned and you could see little pieces of food stuck on it. Half of my food is going to waste cause in all honesty, it just wasn’t that great. :(The service is SUPER fast though. I thought the guy was grabbing dips or something for my chips but he came back with my meal. Impressive.
