Everybody else has already posted everything about this park. Cute, local, fun, some issues.

This spot is awesome for the hot days in Oly. Though it’s hectic during those times as well. If you are not a people person, I would definitely avoid this place during the summer. It’s great that there is a place like this smack dab in the middle of downtown, but there is a major downside to that… I have seen on multiple occasions random male adults stopping to take pictures of small children with their shirts off and then walking back to their cars in a hurry. If this happened once, I could possibly assume that these gentlemen were taking pictures of the lake in the background… But, why not go through the park and get a better picture??? I don’t know… After seeing that multiple times while strolling downtown, I just avoid this place now… I hope I’m wrong, but anyone with children should just be extra cautious…

Cute little fountain pad for kids to play on for free. Great for a hot Summer day. I read the creepy Unilocal review of the bathrooms here so I avoided them and let my son pee on a tree. I also brought my puppy with us and he had fun getting attention from all the kids at the park.(i kept him tied to our bench so he wouldn’t run loose around the place) Good place for a picnic. Be prepared to possibly have to pay for parking and to park a block or two away from the fountain depending on how busy of a day it is.

This park is fun, but stressful with young kids. If you go with toddlers or preschool aged kids, you would be wise to have a 1:1 ratio of responsible adults and little kids. It’s essentially a splash park with heavily trafficked streets on either side of it. There is a small patch of grass to one side and a gravelly area with a bench on the other. It is fun that it is right down town. Our kids like playing there, but it is certainly not relaxing for me.

People have so much fun here especially in the summer when it’s hot and it’s a free way to cool down by standing in the fountain. Good for the whole family except really smaller children. I’ve seen a lot of people taking wedding photos or being all romantic and stuff over there. I don’t mean like full on sex but it looks like a lot of people bring their dates there because it’s kind of romantic. It really is a work of art as well. I’ve sure some people have seen fountains like this before but I could seriously sit on the nearby benches and watch the water dancing in different formations for hours. It’s like a ballet performance you don’t have to pay for to watch.
