This restaurant is absolutely disgusting. The food is HORRIBLE. I had a hair in my food and I wanted to puke. I ordered a quesadilla and French fries, the quesadilla was just uncooked cheese soaked in grease and the fries were uncooked grease sticks. NEVERCOMINGBACK. HORRIBLEFOOD. Not to mention the chips were drenched in salt and the salsa tasted like it was from the sewer.

Those who have been in Thurston County for any length of time would remember west-Olympia’s El Nopal. This is essentially the same restaurant. Same family, same menu, just a different name. Sadly, El Nopal was once a really good restaurant, but quality control fell by the weigh-side and in its last days it was quite bad. I am disheartened to say that Fajita Grill Mexican Restaurant is no better. First let’s start off by debunking the«this isn’t Mexican food» stuff other people say on here. It is, but perhaps not the same kind of Americanized Jalisco faire that most are used to — and to be faire, in most of those cases it is crap. When done right El Nopal was top notch offering something different. But Fajita Grill, the beans were cold, the rice tasted mushy and almost like it was in the freezer and not warmed long enough. The ranchera steak not even warm, and the taco barely warm. The enchilada was okay temperature wise — but bland. The chile relleno was pretty good — can’t complain. In some total it was a cold, bland meal, that if I was the sort I would probably have sent back. But I don’t, because I rather have some cold and bland, than warm with spit… If you catch my drift. The prices were fair — and I am sure when done right, it is at least hot. I will not patronize again however.

The food was really dry and bland. The enchilada had like a brown broth sauce instead of a red enchilada sauce. It tasted weird. There are too many other great Mexican restaurants around here to eat at this place again. The salsa was also like crushed tomatoes with nothing else in it. I like my food to have more flavor.

Fresh salsa, fresh tortillas, lots of options for vegans, Paleo, gluten free. Tastes good. Was unfortunately hard to digest afterward. Great customer service

I went to Fajita Grill for the first time last night with the family. We were very pleased. The food was delicious, authentic, and(according to our server, whom I believe) made from scratch. Our server was delightful. The salsas and chips were fantastic, as were the refried beans. We enjoyed several dishes, including chile relleno, enchiladas, tostada, tacos, and burritos. Neither the food nor atmosphere at Fajita Grill are fancy. But if you are looking for reasonably priced authentic Mexican fare served in a casual environment by nice people, you need look no further. We will definitely be coming back.

This Mexican food is the best I’ve found in Washington. It’s fast and affordable and be sure and ask for enchilada sauce on the burritos so good!

This place has the best Mexican food in the Olympia Tumwater Lacey area. And it’s cheaper than most places. Fast to with fresh homemade salsa!

This place is owned by the family that ran El Nopal on the West Side for years. I was so happy when I found them again! The food is FANTASTIC and fresh. I have yet to find a dish that I do not like. They remember you every time and have fabulous customer service. My favorite dishes are the vegetarian special, the asada burritos, and the nachos. The salsa and guacamole are great as well!

Meh! Just ordinary food! Didn’t even taste authentic. The salsa was so thin and watery, and the enchiladas were ok. I don’t mind paying money for good food, but we left there upset. Next time you want good food in Olympia… go to Puerto Vallarta.

Not good Mexican food !!! The salsa for the chips was very sweet and the green one was drenched in lime juice real Mexican salsa are spicy! The lunch portions are kids menu size very small explains why it’s so cheap but even the food tasted sweet as if sugar was poured while cooking it my friends and I were very disappointed being Mexican ourselves this is NOTMEXICAN food I had the chimichanga with rice and beans the beans had yellow cheese in them which is a huge sign for bad Mexican and the rice had way too much cloves my friend left her fajitas behind didn’t even touch them the owner noticed and didn’t even ask why she didn’t touch her food and brought us the bill she heard us talking in Spanish how disappointed we were but ignored us sound like to me they don’t care never will i go here again

For years we were patrons of El Nopal and when they closed down we were truly upset. Just recently we learned that the Fajita Grill were the same people only a different location. They have the same menu and same great service. I love cheese enchilada plate. Amazing prices and fantastic fresh salsa. Anyone who complains of «watery» salsa, has never made fresh salsa! This is the one place that our whole family gets excited to go to!

We ate here for Cinco De Mayo and I ordered the Fajitas. They were really good! Then I came here on 5⁄18 and it was a completely different story. The food came out too quick(It came out 4 minutes after we had ordered it) and it tasted that way. The refried beans were dry, nasty, and completely grain. I had ordered the Chili Verde with Pork and it was dry and tasteless. Not savory and enjoyable like so many others I’ve had! It was a really disappointment as this is really close to our home. The food tasted like a frozen meal or at the least cooked earlier in the day and then reheated. We were the only ones there when we arrived and its no wonder why. The help there were all very pleasant. I just wish the food was fresh and tasted as good as our first time there. I would be willing to update this review if invited back by the owners and promised FRESH food. Only bright spot is there green salsa… even their chips aren’t made in house and taste poorly too. Sorry Fajita Grill, our hope has turned to dismay and our money is going back to Hawks Praires Mi Pueblo Mexican restaurant.

In Short Phenomenal! Fantastico! BUENO! Family owned, newly opened, this place needs to stay open. If you had a Mexican abuela(grandmother), THIS is the way she would cook. Freshly made tortillas, salsa, tomatillo salsa, guacamole, refried beans to die for … yum! Excellent Mexican beers on tap. Lovely service… and the food! Oi Vey! Chips, salsa, tomatillo salsa… I couldn’t stay out if it! The red salsa had a nice gentle heat. The tomatillo had to have been fire-roasted or something. I had never experienced a salsa like this! Chili Colorado — while the sauce was thinner than I normally see, it was SO not a deal breaker. It was simply a different way of ‘doing it.’ Oh my goodness! the flavor! nom, nom, nom, nom!!! Fajitas(Kevin) — hot, sizzling, and yummy. Señora(owner) had a nice facial as she delivered it to the table. Kevin’ll tell you the rest. For an after dinner treat, Kevin suggested the Café Especial — coffee, amaretto, Bailey’s, whipped cream… ahhhhhh. The *only* way it might have been better… WiFi. Most of our dinner conversations lead to research of some sort and it would have been helpful.(Although, if you sit in the right place, you can grab the WiFi from Frankie’s across the street!) (sorry for the not-so-good pictures of the menu … readable though.)
