Great food, music and service; a relaxed ambiance. Need I say Moore? Family friendly til about 10 p.m. Then it is all grown up. Great live music venue. They provide a 2 month calendar of artist and genres to help patrons plan a date night, or an evening out with friends.

Breakfast is good but it took 45 mins to get and another 30 mins to get the bill. The staff was nice but seemed relatively stressed and confused about what was going on maybe they were just shirt staffed. Overall it’s worth having breakfast here but just be prepared for a 2 hour experience

Why did it take me so long to find this ‘new and improved’ spot? We like to eat downtown and particularly appreciate finding a place that is not packed and noisy. Hubby and I ate there with a group of six others recently and all of us were happy with our meal. One of my criteria for good foods is a fresh salad – and ours were loaded with perfectly crisp bits. I did ask for an extra amt of their delicious blue cheese dressing which came with a smile. We got soup AND salad with our meals – whoever does that anymore? A little bread would have made those courses perfect. Hubby had Chicken Marsala with pasta and fresh veggies; I had a delicious Southwest Creamed Chicken dish – both meals were spot on and we ate every morsel. We will definitely be back.

Stopped by for breakfast this morning, excited to give it a try with the new management. At around 9:30 am, we were one of only two tables. We both immediately noticed a strange smell — my wife likened it to a nursing home! I had the veg Benedict, my wife had a traditional Benedict, and we both had coffees. The coffee was decent diner coffee, but definitely not what we expect in Olympia. The Benedict tasted like it came from a can, my wife’s Canadian Bacon was thin sliced, and the hash browns were nothing short of soggy. The bill came to over $ 30, and we walked out extremely disappointed. The service was attentive and friendly, if a bit quirky. Breakfast in Olympia is competitive and this didn’t come close to meeting the bar. We will not be returning.

Used to be 4 stars… they had fantastic jaegersnitzel — but I guess that was too pedestrian for the remodel. Used to be a lot of tasty food for a good price… now it’s okay, overly ambitious food for too much money. We won’t be back… which is sad.

Four of us went there last night and all 4 of us had a rather delightful and delicious meal. I ordered the sirloin, it was cooked to perfection and was flavorful and juicy. The others had the Chicken Marsala and Pork Loin Dijon, both were really tasty, sauces were smooth. The veggies were shaved Brussels sprouts and seasoned well. At first I was disappointed to see that the mashed potatoes were garlic(getting tired of this fad), but the flavor of theirs was different and really good. We shared 2 desserts, both were gobbled right down and plates licked. I happen to appreciate the new décor and my only complaint would be that I only get to visit Olympia on weekends and they serve the Razor clams, Monday and Tuesday. Oh boo, maybe that will change some day, because their clams are delicious. Thanks for the lovely evening.

We thought we would give this try for our Friday night out Very dissapointed. First off I asked for a wine list and was shown the back of dirty menu. I asked if they had more than the 3 reds on the list and was told we had 6 wines, 3 red and 3 white and was told that is a lot of wine to choose from! I ordered the Wild caught sockeye salmon with lemon dill sauce with vegetables and wild rice. The salmon was over cooked, the dill sauces was a white sauce(with lumps) an sprig of dill and zero flavor. I ate ½ the salmon. The rice was dried out. I ate a couple of bites. The vegetables consisted of large pieces of zucchini rings and white onion burnt and drowning in oil. My spouse had the Garlic Sauté prawns with noodles. He ate his, although it was very oil and mostly soy sauce. I thought the salad was good, minus the over ripe tomato. They also served a salmon chowder, which lacked flavor. The room was a bit cool our legs were cold. I woud only go back if I hear that a new chef was in the kitchen.

RIP Ben Moore’s :-( This used to be the last truly historic and unique speakeasy in Olympia, after the McMenimen Brothers killed The Spar. This was the place to meet friends for a intimate social evening of cocktails and good food. You can’t sit at the bar anymore. There are no stools. They refurbished the place with the cheap looking, ‘out of the catalog’ furniture. The food was good, but not enough to make up for the new atmosphere. They really should have just renamed the place after the renovation.

First visit to Ben Moore’s since the new ownership. Excellent dinner last night. We arrived and the place was empty — we thought they might have been closed but we were welcomed. The whole look of the place has changed so much for the better. The service was friendly and prompt. As for the food, I had a perfectly cooked tempura fish sandwich and it tasted as good as it was cooked. The fires were also very good — my buddy felt that there could be more on the plate. He had nothing but good things t say about his burger. I plan to be back soon with the family.(I hear they have a duck special tonight.)

Terrible food and service. Avoid for breakfast! They didn’t have several items on the menu which is understandable, but despite the fact that when we walked in there were only 4 other people in the restaurant it took 45 minutes to bring out our food. Our waitress was incredibly rude, did not know how to serve«half caffeinated– half de caffeinated» coffee and yelling at the other poor server. Do yourself a favor and pick a different breakfast spot.

So I heard that this place had re-opened to new management, new menu, & refurbished décor. Went to meet 2 other friends down there a few months back just after it re-opened. we were all hugely disappointed. The few new«improvements» they made were just ‘meh,’ the service was horribly slow(there weren’t even that many people seated), the prices were very high, & the new menu had been trimmed WAY down from all of the original fare they used offer. Some BIG surprises to items that they used to have were now gone, that was disappointing. After ordering drinks, we waited, waited, waited some more, waited… finally got our drinks, then had another«forever» before the waitress came back to take our meal order. Then we proceeded to wait again… for what felt like forever. When the food finally came the general consensus between the 3 of us was disappointment. Taste, ‘meh’ & bland. Portions, small, not impressed. I highly suggest they bring back some of the old menu items, or at least add more options, the menu at the time I went was very, very trim! I am also hoping that they have improved the taste, it was so unremarkable that I can’t even remember what I ordered now. All 3 of us sat eating our meals, disappointed, & this is from 3 people who used to go there all the time! For years! Also, would be nice to see staff pick up their service & speed. I can get past the non-remarkable«improvements» on the actual décor & space, but the menu items, poor food, poor service… not so much. I have not been back since.

Came here today for the first time since reopening. Service was OK but the staff was very frantic. They only had two or three other tables of customers and seemed to think they were extremely busy and weren’t sure how to handle it. Food was great though and we will definitely be back. Hoping the staff will learn to be more efficient

I came here for the first time since the remodel, and wanted to love it. I was so disappointed! The food was average at best, the service was lousy, and $ 12 for a shot of Patron Silver. We won’t be back.

I had a shrimp salad that was to die for and the service was great. My friend had the appetizer salad and it was wonderful. I will definitely be back. The remodel and menu are a huge improvement. The help was very friendly. What a switch!

St Patricks day dinner specials! The Irish stew was amazing! Fresh salad and homemade soup! Now for dessert! Fresh MarrionBerry pie and Baileys Chocolate pudding! All of it excellent!
