Subway

If there was a 0 star option, I would have given this place that! First off, let me start by saying that this Subway is no longer in what used to be the Jewel/​Osco plaza. It’s now on Lincoln Hwy in the little strip mall next to City Nails and between Ultra Foods and Food For Less. So now that you know where they are, STAY AWAY!!!
These guys are horrible! And it’s not the food that’s bad, it’s the people who work here, especially management! They are so stingy with everything that you ask for. Since when are the veggies extra??? Unless Subway has changed something recently, extra veggies (within reason of course) have always been free. On a recent visit here, I asked for extra olives on a sandwich. She (the manager) gave me 3. I asked, very politely, for a few more, and she pretended not to hear me. Instead she kept making the sandwich and mumbled something to herself. So I asked her again and she glared at me, rolled her eyes, and added two more olives. At this point, I should I walked out, but stupidly I stayed. When I smiled and said «I’m sorry, I’m going to need a bit more than 5 olive slices on it» she said «You asked for extra and I gave you extra!» Wow, really??? Since when did getting a sandwich from my local Subway turn into a contact sport? So, numbly, I watched her wrap up my sandwich and I paid for it. It wasn’t till I got into my car and looked at the receipt that I noticed that there was an extra .50 added onto the bill for the additional two olive slices she added. So basically I paid .10 per olive slice. Un-​stinkin-​believable! But here’s the really crazy part. I went back a week or so later, thinking/​hoping that the bad service was a one off. I won’t regale you with the details, but let’s just say that that visit was pretty much the same as the previous one. Same service, different person. So I guess the manager’s poisonous attitude has infected all of her employees as well. Either that, or she tells them to act that way. I don’t know, or really care because I have no plans to ever go back to that Subway branch again. To be treated like dirt because you want your sandwich the way you want it is definitely not the way to keep your customers!

Clean out of the way location. Workers don’t seem to have an attitude with customers but there seems to be a constant turn over of workers. No complaints, just decent quick eats. The Veggie Delight is a good option for non-​meat eaters. They also have a Veggie Patty that provides more protein and texture. It’s definitely not at the to of my choices but will do when out shopping. It’s more of a YUM than a yuck.
