Always good produce and prepared foods. Try some savory pies from the Pie guy. Homemade sausages and frozen meat from local farmer. The small local blue grass and folk bands alwAys add a nice touch and provide a pleasant atmosphere to sit and eat. I hope the fish truck comes back too!

Sunday morning, a trip to the gym, most days or a long walk or run and then we meet at the market. I love the Omelet burritos and gotta have some Zekes coffee, then onto some sweets with the best cupcakes around! I’ve taken then to DC for an open house and people came back or called me to ask where I got them from. They were the best cupcakes they ever had! and these people live near… other cupcake places! The Vietnamese food is fantastic the marinated chicken or pork Bonn Ami Sandwich is outstanding. so many others to mention, the farm fresh vegetables are beautiful, they have purple string beans?! I get soap and olive oil, you can have your knives sharpened and order custom pained glasses. So much to see and do while visiting with friends and listening to live music. See you at the market!

Great selection of fresh produce and food vendors. I would come here just for the Dalat Deli(Vietnamese Food) and Holy Crepes. I tried the chicken banh mi, the pork banh mi and the summer rolls today. They were amazing! The sweet lady there puts her homemade sauce on the banh mi that just makes it insanely good. The chicken and the pork were marinated really well. Great price for what you get! The summer rolls with the homemade peanut sauce was also really good. I can’t wait to go back and try other things. I got the Nutella banana crêpe and thought it was well made. I’d go back for their crepes for sure.

Nice Sunday family fun! Large choice of veggies, snacks, and arts and crafts! Live band with plenty of seats in the shade.

Lots of selection in both farm fresh foods as well as packaged foods, prepared meals(Holy Crepes is my absolute favorite) and loads of beautiful jewelery and crafts. Best place to spend a Sunday morning in the area!

What kind of farmers market does not allow dogs? This one! Produce is average and not a lot of options.

Lots of fresh produce in the fall and good amount of prepared foods, my favorite being the Indian food. The same Indian place has a buffet at their Restaurant in Olney, Buffet did not have the spicy Chicken Bryani I enjoy so much at the Market. The sliced pickles in a Jar people share a table with a Book program, so you get a free book with a pickle purchase. Live Music, Arts and crafts, are a plus. Atwood Breads are excellent, There was a guy there sharpening scissors today. Also, pie bake-off in July and a chili cook-off in the fall. Sorry, weren’t any hot corn-fed shirtless farm-girls…

My new favorite farmers market! Little bit of everything. Vendors really friendly too! It’s more expensive than other farmer’s markets that I’ve been to and I’d agree with the Unilocaler who said there wasn’t a whole lot of «variety.» However, what they’ve got is amazing and the food stands are out of this world. Plus, the extra money I end up paying is still less than the gas it would cost me to drive further from home. Alas, I’m a fan!

My favorite market! Fenny is correct, there is not an abundance of produce stands and maybe they do need to rethink the name of the market, but what is there is great! Food, food, and more food. Ch giò(Vietnamese egg rolls), baklava, brick oven pizza, baked goods, samosas. Several local artist stands. Want a portrait of your furry friend? Well someone there does them(I’m talking to you, Chi Zee). Nice atmosphere that usually has live music. This Sunday market has really grown over the last two years. For baked goods, I highly recommend the Small Comforts Bakeshop. Excellent small pies, and individual baked items such as scones and crumb cake.

OK — so this is a classic example of all that I dislike about farmer’s markets. For whatever random reason, my husband and I were out in Olney. Believe me, it wasn’t by choice. However, as we were driving, we pass by the Olney Farmers and Artist Market. It looked rather interesting, and with all the white stalls speckling the parking lot, we decided to swing in and take a look. Well, to start with, there weren’t any hot corn-fed shirtless farm-boys. So –1 star there. Kidding(sort of). But more importantly — there were practically no produce stalls at all! There were only two stalls that had produce out, and all they had were the run of the mill heirloom tomatoes, green beans, and peppers. Nothing terribly exciting, and honestly, I know that buying local is the«in» thing right now, however, when I can get tomatoes, beans and peppers for almost half the price at the Giant across the street, I really need a better reason then just to be hip(and don’t throw environment at me, because most grocery stores have a local produce section that is cheaper and looked fresher then what I saw at the farmer’s market). I will say that there were several stalls that were selling fresh flowers and potted plants and herbs that looked interesting at first — but again, nothing special or different. I can get sunflowers and daisies from any florist, and I can get potted basil, oregano and thyme anywhere as well. If there was even one climbing jasmine plant or perhaps a cool coffee plant, I may have been excited, but when the offerings are no better then what I could find at the Home Depot. Now, I realize that this was a farmers and ARTIST market, however, the«artists» outnumbered the farmers 3 to 1. And yes, I deliberately put«artist» in quotes. Life lesson here — owning an SLR, an artist does not make. Now, I realize that art is subjective and in the eye of the beholder, however you really have to believe me when I say that these were pretty bad. Less then postcard-worthy photos that had been brutally photoshopped then matted and on sale for $ 150. Even 3 star hotels wouldn’t purchase these photos. Seriously, I’ve seen better work come out of high school students. I may sound cruel and b*tchy, but seriously, someone needs to tell these photographers that they should not quit their day jobs — Ansel Adams they are not. In all, I think we were able to walk through the entire«market» in less then 10 minutes, and no stall really deserved a second look(although we did, because we felt so lame for stopping for only 10 minutes). Bleh. Unimpressive and a bit of a waste of time. I’m giving it an extra star for having a live band. However, the band wasn’t particularly good… but I am willing to give them an extra star for the effort.
