Awesome place for a Catskills getaway any time of the year. Read along to see why it didn’t deserve 5 stars. Location: one word — gorgeous. The valley is beautiful and there’s always plenty of sunshine(even at sunset) which is hard to find in a lot of mountain resorts. Site: well maintained, groomed and pleasant for the eye. Nicely positioned flowerbeds, benches, and overall layout add up to a relaxing experience. Breakfast: amazing. Everything is fresh, cooked to order. Very nice table set up that greets you when you enter the dining area. Rooms: simple, clean, renovated and clean bathrooms, nice roomy balconies. Now here’s what can be improved: The only thing we really(!) missed was a coffee/tea maker. How amazing it would be to make your own brew in the early morning and enjoy that mountain fog crouching along the valley being chased by the sunrise sun. A cooler would be a great addition also(was a little tired continuously running to get more ice in the lobby of the main building across the road). The pool: very seasonal. Water is über refreshing, but the good thing is that it is fed to the pool from the mountain creek, so you know it’s pristine clean(probably even potable ;)) All in all we had a great time and even decided to prolong our quick getaway for one more night and day which was easily accommodated by the inn’s host. Thanks for the family who keeps the place going.

This is a difficult place to review. It’s very much back in the woods with a very ‘60s look and feel. Our room was up 3 flights of stairs but was very roomy, clean and with a nice view extending to the nearby mountains. The high point of our stay was the included buffet breakfast, which was fresh and extensive, and would give buffets a GOOD name!

Great but quaint European style inn. Family run and owned and I noticed a few reviewers feeling the old man at check in not friendly. he is the owner and a very nice chap indeed — he is an older man and of european heritage — ever been to paris? The place is very clean if a little dated but the breakfasts are legendary and service excellent too. Also, the scenery is great and the location close to bleary resort. I have stayed 4 times this winter and overtime has been comfortable, warm and relaxing. I would give it a try.

My family and I stayed here overnight while driving through the Catskills during fall foliage. The buildings are very picturesque and set on top of a hill so you get a great view. The rooms are nicely sized and clean and most comes with a balcony to admire the views. However, the floors are very thin and creaky so was woken up several times during the night. The breakfast buffet was outstanding with full breakfast of eggs, hash browns, bacon, sausage, French toast, pastries and fruit. The one drawback was the old man at check in. He was not friendly or very hospitable. When I checked in, he handed me the key and I had to ask where the room was, where I should park, when breakfast was served and what time check out was. All are very basic things that are usually shared without prompting at any other hotel. When I asked about the wifi, he said yes there was. I asked if there was a password and what network I should use, he said he had told me everything he knows which is basically that there was free wifi. Maybe it was offseason for them but didn’t see anyone else around to ask any questions and the old man didn’t seem very knowledgable about the area either. I would have enjoyed my stay much more if not for the bad experience when you first walk in the door.

Just as Diana D said. Extremely unpleasant person at check in. Hotel needs some serious updates. Room was dirty and there were hairs in my bed, and that makes me think that they hadn’t changes the sheets. Carpet was dirty and stains sticky. The cost was $ 160 I would have been better off with a Motel 6. It’s a beautiful location and a shame that the owners are just letting it go. If they don’t improve on the basics this place is going to lose business rapidly.

Extremely unpleasant person at check in. Halls smelled like bug spray. Shower did not work. No one around to ask questions. Scenery was beautiful. Apparently this is the only game in town.

The perfect escape! My boyfriend and I stayed at the Alpine Lodge for Valentine’s Day weekend. I’ve never done a B&B before, so I wasn’t sure what to expect, but the Alpine Lodge really exceeded all of my expectations Just a short drive from Bellayre and tucked into the woods, the inn is perfectly secluded. Even though there were a few other families and groups staying there, we truly felt like we were alone. We stayed in one of the deluxe suites with a queen bed and jacuzzi. The room was on the top floor of the chalet and we had a gorgeous view from our balcony. When we pulled up to the main building to check in, we were greeted by one of the golden retrievers, Zachary, who escorted us in! The couple that owns the place were as sweet as can be and made us feel very at home and welcome. The fireplace in the room was already on when we arrived and I was so surprised with how comfortable and cozy the rooms were. The drapery around the bed was a really nice touch! We had dinner reservations at the Peekamoose Restaurant(located just up the street) so we didn’t do dinner at the inn, but after feasting on their delicious breakfast, we were wishing we could come back that night for their dinner! The breakfast was awesome — everything was fresh and there was more than enough of every dish. The granola was delicious, as were the French toast and cinnamon buns. I really felt like we were treated like royalty. We cannot wait to come back for another stay!

C. and I went to a friend’s wedding in the Catskills this weekend, and because the hotel property’s hotel was sold out, we ended up staying at the«overflow» hotel. I’m glad we did. The Catskills are a wonderful place, and where you stay can make all the difference. The Alpine Inn is a ski lodge in the fine old style, even if it’s not located next door to a ski lift. The main building is spacious and comfortable, and the proprietors are friendly and helpful. There’s even a golden retriever who’ll welcome you and roll over on his back for a belly rub. The building we stayed in – Edelweiss, I believe — was a two-story mini-lodge with about eight rooms. The carpet and wallpaper is pretty hideous in a ‘70s basement kind of way, but the rooms are comfortable and clean. Ours featured a full closet, desk, TV set, and ample-sized bathroom with a large shower. There aren’t irons in the room, but you can use one in the laundry room. And, as the proprietor told us, we could spend«all afternoon» there if we wanted to. Each room has a deck, and the views from the rooms — and the property itself — are wonderful. We arrived at night, and the next morning, we woke to a light dusting of snow and slight flurries. Gorgeous. Breakfast comes with the room, and we preferred the buffet over the eggs made to order. Plenty of healthy and delicious food to start the day out right. Supposedly, there’s also dinner options, but we weren’t around for dinner, and I’m not sure they’re still serving. Recommended.
