How I have been living in Oldsmar for more than 3 years without knowing about this place?! My work is very close to Andy’s, so one day we decided to drive over for lunch. Lunch is served cafeteria style, which is great, because when you’re on schedule it’s nice to know that you can eat quickly and go. I got through the line with no issues, choosing a combo meal of baked chicken, yellow rice, and black beans. Cuban bread comes complimentary with the meal. Even with as small as the restaurant is, it was still easy to find a place to sit with my co-workers. I wasted no time grabbing a slice of bread and dipping it into the juices from my chicken. After a big bite full of flavor, I was excited to dig into the rest of my meal. My food was hot, seasoned perfectly, and the portions were so large I had to box some of it up. That rice and beans made for some GREAT leftovers! I’ll definitely be making it a point to lunch at Andy’s again soon. They serve breakfast too, and that breakfast Cuban on their menu sounds really good!

Another one of those places you leave«stuffed.» You get more than what you pay for at Andy’s — around $ 7 for a bowl of succulent pork, a heaping plate of mouth watering beans and rice, and a basket of fresh cuban bread. And, as others have mentioned, a killer homemade salsa that sets it apart from anyone else. Go there!

Andy’s is CLOSED. Went by there today for some Cuban sandwiches and there are no signs of life and there is a for lease sign on the door.

This place is great! They don’t advertise but have a line out the door everyday for lunch. That has to tell you something! Pulled pork, rice and beans, and plantains are great! I’ve even used them for catering several times!

Busy lunch was a good sign. Delicious Cuban with pulled pork. Friendly down home atmosphere.

2 words — Roast Pork! Easily the best roast pork anywhere. I worked ¼ mile from Andy’s for years, and was in this place all the time for either pork, beans and rice, or a roast port sandwich. When I am in the area, I plan my lunch around Andy’s. I moved 3 years ago, but still get cravings for an Andy’s Pork Sandwich on a weekly basis. My favorite item is a pressed roast pork sandwich on Cuban bread with a side of garbanzo bean soup. Do not expect too much for ambiance. It’s the equivalent of a deep south«Meat &3» diner, but with Latin food. Counter service an be slow if it’s busy, it can look a little grimy, but the food quality and value is excellent.

Ate here with hubby for lunch. The pork was a bit salty but very tasty and moist. The rice and beans seemed to be a fan favorite. There were people coming in and ordering just the rice and beans(no meat). Hubby had the large cuban, and it was LARGE. He lovingly ate it all and some rice and beans. We paid with cash like a previous Unilocaler advised but saw no change in price. The refills were a necessity since the cups were bit small, but its only $ 1 so its not that big of an issue. We will go back and try the chicken and plantines next time. I wish they had weekend hours, so we could have their breakfast.

OMG. So friggin’ good! Get a large portion of the roast pork with rice and beans and you’ll eat it for 3 days. Incredible flavor! Only negative is that the service is somewhat slow. They draw a huge lunchtime crowd for the size of the place and could probably turn tables over faster if the service kicked it up a notch. They also need to have FRESH limes every day.

Just started working in oldsmar about 2 months ago and decided to try Andy’s… Best decision I have ever made! Since finding this place I have gone back EVERY single day. The pork is probably the best roast pork you will ever eat in your life. The rice and beans and everything else are also done perfectly. Andy’s is the perfect example of what a family run restaurant should be. Andy is there everyday cooking the food and you can tell he genuinely enjoys serving his customers. I have yet to have a less than 5star experience here. This has easily become my favorite restaurant in florida and I will continue to come back as long as it’s here. It can get pretty packed during lunch, but trust me when I say it is worth the wait.

I absolutely love Andy’s for lunch. This is some really great food. The roasted pork is so tasty. I must say the roasted pork special is the only thing I ever get here because I love it that much. I usually get it with the special rice and black beans but I’ll get a side of garbanzo beans with it every now and then too on the days I can’t decide between the two. I put their special sauce over everything when they hand me my plate or to go box. Their special sauce is ridiculous! They sell it if they have extra. I highly suggest if you like spicy things to grab a bottle of this sauce. I always keep one in the fridge. I love to out in on anything and everything when I want a spicy kick. Seriously. I even out it on my fried eggs in the morning. It’s that good. You should definitely give Andy’s a try if you are in the mood for some really good food.

I’m giving them five stars because I’ve never been disappointed in their food. It’s a hole in the wall and far from fancy, but who cares. The food is really delish, and the family running the place are really nice and polite. Today I walked in crossing my fingers that they were serving their spicy goat, but I didn’t luck out. Boo hoo hoo! It’s fine because I really didn’t have a problem substituting for the stewed beef, I never struck that one before so I was happy with the choice. Meat was of course really tender like always… The red beans so flavorful and I even love the rice there, it’s always so moist. They even throw in a couple pieces of Cuban bread and butter to go with it. At the register they have fresh cut onions to add and the best hot sauce ever. $ 8 and I’m out the door with an awesome ginormous meal. I love Andy’s! If you’re planning to go, just know they are only opened till 2 and closed on Sat and Sun. I believe.

Andy’s has the finest roasted pork you will ever eat, but the real gem here is the spicy sauce they offer to dress your meal as you slide your tray down to the register. The sauce is incredible on anything, it’s super spicy with the perfect flavor to compliment and protein.

Perfect place for lunch! Family owned, home cooked food, best Cuban place around! I really enjoy coming to this place. Feel like your at home. The black beans and rice are amazing and the Cubans are perfect! Good for a quick lunch.

Small, hidden little family owned Cuban restaurant in Oldsmar. Stopped here for lunch one afternoon and wasn’t disappointed. The menu is very simple and the prices are cheap. The food is fresh and pretty good. I went with the regular sized cuban sandwich and it filled me up pretty well. Surprised they don’t offer free drink refills when you’re paying $ 1.60 for a regular drink, but oh well.

This hole in the wall doesn’t always feel like the cleanest & friendliest place but it does offer some mighty tasty pork & rice. They are a small business so they aren’t always accommodating when it comes to paying with a card. I recommend bringing cash if possible because your bill likely be very small and they get charged per transaction.

Andy’s On the Bay is a small family owned Spanish restaurant located in the business district of Douglas Rd in Oldsmar. They are only open for breakfast and lunch so you’ll have to go early. Their daily routine of pulled pork, various types of rice and beans, and Cuban sandwiches are always available. They also mix up various specials throughout the week like chicken, fried fish, ox tail, chicken cordon bleu and anything else Andy feels like throwing together that day. I have been frequenting Andy’s for nearly 20 years and their food has remained consistently good over the years. Andy, his wife and family are very nice people and always make an effort to greet and interact with all of his guests. Not long ago Andy’s wife mentioned she remembered the first day my co-workers and I came into their restaurant. I thought she was just being nice until she described the day in detail(mind you that this was many many years ago). I was surely impressed, and yes her story was accurate. The restaurant is not fancy and could stand some remodeling. The food is not the absolute best you’ll find in the world, but it’s very good in my opinion. The parking is difficult especially if you have a larger vehicle. So why 4 stars? The overall graciousness and family feeling you get from Andy and the crew make this restaurant top notch in my book. My only pet peeve is they don’t serve Coke… A change there just might warrant 5 stars!

I’ve been grubbing down here since 2006, but I always got take out. However, I recently stopped in for one of their Cuban sandwiches and found the place to be really dirty. Don’t get me wrong, I love me some hole-in-the-wall action, but I had to literally kill ants on my table between each bite. When went to sit down, and all except two tables needed to be bused, which landed us at the any factory in the SE corner. And what is the deal with those table clothes? Time to get some new ones, folks. They’re past the point of being cleanable. As for their Cubans, they are served up 100% traditional style. No funny business with mayo, lettuce or tomato(unless requested). All the proper ingredients are present. Ham, pork, Swiss cheese, mustard, pickle and SALAMI. However, the pork is on the dry side, the salami and Swiss portions are skimpy and they use boiled ham! C’mon folks. In this day and age, there is no excuse for boiled ham. You’re already taking the time to cook the most difficult ingredient, the pork, so why not cook ham? I’d say skip the Cuban all together, and check out the ropa vieja or baked chicken. If you’re early enough, the breakfast sammiches on Cuban bread are great. Just get you food to go. Another note if you’ve never been, this is a breakfast and lunch establishment. They close early during the week, and are not open on weekends. Local businesses and offices in Oldsmar are their bread and butter. My buddy Davin at work just brought me an Andy’s Cuban. Ive heard all about it before, but now I get the fuss. It was a great Tampa Cuban with the strategically placed pickle and everything. Can’t wait to stop by driving this place and head on in. I hope the rest of the menu is this good.

Authentic and tasty Spanish food that is even appreciated by this pasty white guy. I’ve been eating here sporadically for years, and can always count on consistently tasty food. Sure, the décor is dated, and it can get plenty crowded at lunchtime, but my blinders go on the second that I put a forkful of chicken or pulled pork into my mouth. Pure bliss. One star removed for the one thing that bugs me — no soda refills. I drink a lot during my meals, and to have to get up and pay again two or three times is annoying. Charge me a little more and let me have free(which really, to me, means«no hassle procurement») refills.

This well-hidden local favorite is one of the many reasons why the Tampa area is known for great Cuban food. The pork here is delicious and the special rice, whatever it is, works perfectly with the flavorful black beans. The large Cuban sandwiches are crunchy, tasty, and beyond filling. Come hungry or you are in deep trouble! Everything is ridiculously inexpensive. As a matter of fact, I feel special and slightly guilty every time I eat here because the money paid, is far less than the value delivered! I love the smell of pork and black beans in the early afternoon.
