My wife and I have been here many times. It is our absolute favorite place for a romantic retreat. The setting is beautiful, the rooms spacious and comfortable, and Dave’s breakfasts are not to be missed.

My wife and I have been celebrating our 10th anniversary in Asheville, NC and while we initially wanted to be relaxing on a beach drinking cocktails this trip turned out to be the perfect way to reconnect with each and enjoy some much need alone time. Dave and Brigette were amazing innkeepers and host. The breakfast each morning was delicious and they were very accommodating to me since I am a vegetarian. We stayed in the Evergreen Room in the main house. This room is very spacious and comes with a private bathroom with a jetted tube tub and shower built for two! This has been a fantastic place to stay!

Beautiful and peaceful setting(great dark skies for stargazing and an easy one-mile trail to the spectacular Royal Gorge overlook), oh-so-comfortable bed, hearty and delicious breakfasts. Yummy chocolate-chip oatmeal cookies in the cookie jar for us to raid when we returned late one evening ;) Innkeepers are very knowledgeable and thoughtful with area directions, suggestions, etc. We enjoyed watching the goldfinches and indigo buntings and the fireflies as well as listening to the bullfrogs. Do print out the reservation confirmation email and bring it with you, as it has very clear directions. We chatted with other guests who were on their third stay — that’s a powerful testimonial! Make dinner reservations at Que Sera in nearby Black Mountain for food that equals any fine-dining restaurant in Asheville.

A delicious place to wake up in. Oh, the beautiful sound of the rain, crisp and cool nature, light fog, and wonderful smells from the kitchen! All the amenities of a beautiful hideaway. My husband and I went to celebrate our anniversary weekend, and we had a terrific stay! We’re already looking forward to a return trip! Bridgette, Dave, and the pug kids… You guys are awesome :)

This is a very nice inn about 15 minutes from Black Mountain. We had our wedding there over the weekend. The innkeepers took great care of us and bent over backwards to help us with our ceremony. We’re looking forward to going back soon.

We traveled here in June 2011 for a wedding weekend with our big dog Sadie. We appreciated the welcoming attitude towards us and our dog. Not many innkeepers are under the age of 55, but it was refreshing to have Brigette and Dave who were active young adults nearing 40. They were so helpful with us asking a ton of questions on where to go/cycle, etc. The house is way up a gravel road, which seemed longer than it was, so it wasn’t super convenient to go out and back and out and back like we were, but it was quite close to I-40 and Black Mountain. It was a haul to get to Mt Mitchell, but I guess that’s the point. I would not advise going up Curtis Creek unless you’re camping there! :) The remoteness provided great star gazing! Anyway the breakfasts were delicious(and I have very high standards!) and the bedrooms were attractive. They had wifi and lots of games, and even a guest fridge which was a nice touch. We were in a dog friendly room which had our own external entrance which was great! The bathroom was plenty large, though I wish the bedroom was slightly larger so they could fit a King sized bed. We just can’t sleep in a Queen. It even had a separate room with a big jacuzzi tub! There is an active train track nearby, so unless you’re a heavy sleeper, don’t sleep w/windows open. We would definitely return for the service and food and maybe check into a King room.

My wife and I just got back from a stay at the Inn on Mill Creek. The owners(Dave and Bridget) were wonderful. The Inn and surroundings were beautiful. We are already planning a return visit!
