Homebrew Pro Shoppe

I am a home brewer (All-​grain mostly and extract sometimes) and I have recently relocated to KC area, so I am in search of a new homebrew store for grain, yeast, hops and misc supplies.
First place I found was Homebrew Pro Shoppe. My first impression is that it is a very clean and organized store. I presented my grain bill to the guy working and he helped me find what I was looking for quickly (next time I will probably just do it myself, but as a first timer to this store it was nice to have someone point me in the right direction). I was a little disappointed that I had to buy in pound increments for the grain but the employee explained that this is the best way for them to insure I get the freshest grain. Now I have a half pound of leftover caramel 40 I am not sure what to do with. Also was a little bummed they only carry White Labs yeast. I have always used Wyeast products, but I bought the White labs equivalent and I am sure this is just a matter of preference. Prices seemed a little higher than I am used to. and it would have been a couple dollars cheaper for me to buy it all online even with shipping!
This store is extremely close to my house so I will be in and out of here frequently for little things, but I might search for a place with better prices for when I buy a full recipe. Cheers!

Really a wonderful store. The people are friendly and knowledgeable, prices are fair, parking is easy. They have everything from starter kits to advanced ingredients to make all levels of homebrewer happy. If you are just getting started, grab one of the pre-​measured kits… there are tons of them, from stouts to IPAs to wheats to porters to seasonals. When you are ready to start going outside of the book, the back area has tons of ingredients and tools to make your brewing experience more and more personalized. And, like I said, all of it is priced quite reasonably compared to some other places in the metro.

Calling all home brewers and wine makers, this is your store.
The employee working wasn’t the owner, but he was incredibly knowledgeable. They have everything you’d need to make beer or wine at home. They have the Mr. Beer kits, glass bottles, and a lot of other extract flavors to choose from.
Then they also have grains there too if you’re into the all grain recipes. My husband is he beer maker so I don’t even know what all I was looking at in there.
I didn’t know there was such a think as wine making at home. They sell the grapes there in huge kits that has everything you need to make wine. They have all kinds of whites, reds and blends. They also have some premium quality grapes too.
I had sticker shock because the wine kits are anywhere from $ 60-​$ 300 however they make 30 bottles so it actually breaks down to a reasonable price.
Wether you’re a master or newbie, they’ll have what you need.
Random: They also sell farm fresh eggs for $ 3 a dozen. I just happened to see the sign as we were leaving so I didn’t find out anything about who raises them, what they feed their chickens, etc. But I certainly will ask when I go back.
