Discover Vision Centers

My hat is off to these guys. I’ve been a patient for years and they’ve always been great. This time, they went above and beyond. Here’s what happened. I got a new pair of glasses in February. As a contact lens wearer, I don’t wear them very often. But as I did wear them once in awhile, I noticed they kept coming out of adjustment. Everett and Karen would always happily adjust them for me when I brought them in, but after doing this several times, I just got frustrated. I finally made an off-​handed remark (knowing I was way past the 30-​day return policy) saying, «When are you guys gonna get tired of me coming in for adjustments and just replace these?»
I got a call a couple of days later from the optical manager, Pat, who said, «Let’s get you taken care of. We want you to be happy and we want you to like your glasses.»
So I’m heading in later today to order a new pair. Talk about awesome. Thank you guys so much!

I wanted to wait until at least the two week follow up appointment before writing my review so I could give accurate feedback on my experience. Now, at three weeks out I can say this was absolutely worth every cent I paid for.
I had astigmatism, been wearing glasses since second grade, gone through soft and hard contacts for almost 30 years. During those years I went to no less than 5 Lasik consultations; not one of them convinced me that the experience would be worth it, until now.
The staff was clear and kind, answering all of my questions. When I had follow up questions and would email them, I would get a response in less than 24 hours.
On the day of surgery, which was at their Leawood center, 3 people checked to make sure all the numbers annotated in my file were correct (I like that type of attention to detail since they are my eyes). The procedure took less than 15 minutes and there it was: crisp, clear vision!
The recuperation period can vary: mine was 2 days of rest, some minor discomfort like feeling that I had an eyelash in my eye. Some sensitivity to light. I followed the post operative instructions to the letter. And now I can say that although I’m still healing, going to Discover Vision was the best decision I made. The doctors and staff at Discover were amazing and I am so thankful to have my sight!
