World Imports Rustic Furniture

I am moving out on my own in a couple of months and my mom and aunt wanted to help me out and each by a piece of furniture for my apartment. We each found separate pieces but my aunt just had a child so instead of being able to go to the register herself, she gave me her form of payment for it so I could pay since she was taking care of her daughter and my mom was helping her. When I went to check out and asked if we could do separate transactions he got mad and said he would prefer not to do that and they had to be at the counter when they were clearly sitting on the couch tending to a newborn. He was rude and unprofessional as the day went on and needless to say I will not be back.

We ordered a new living room set as a special order about two and a half months ago. First they called when they came in and the wrong wood was ordered. Okay, but then we were strung along for weeks with «it will be in this week» over and over again. Granted there’s been weather issues, but not for weeks on end. We finally get up there and settle for some floor models and got cut a good deal on another piece of furniture. Good deal. Get home and one of our pieces came with only one sofa foot, the ottoman had the wrong feet (both which were wrapped up and loaded without getting a chance to really look it over), and the pillows that came with our couch were not included. Then called the next day and they could not overnight it because the manager does not approve anything on his day off. Really? I am very disappointed and with the many options available in rustic furniture shopping would recommend going anywhere else.

Great solid wood furniture. Mostly rustic, ranch/​cabin style. Do NOT let that put you off, especially if you are a do-​it-​yourselfer. You can find some good basic pieces that aren’t rustic, like book shelves, tv cabinets, night stands, dining room tables, etc. If you are willing to paint it yourself to get the look you want, then you can get a much higher quality piece at a better price than you will from buying that fiber-​board that will fall apart the first time you move it crap from the chain stores. You will have to update any hardware too, because all their hardware is really rustic and held on by wires usually.
If you want good, solid wood furniture that will stand the test of time, then this is the place to get it, you will just have to put in some elbow-​grease to transform it into the piece of your dreams. The staff is friendly and they will negotiate pricing with you. My only complaint is they don’t have their own delivery service.

We recently purchased our bedroom suite here. We were satisfied with the furniture, saleslady and price. When we picked up the furniture, I asked the men loading the truck to lay down the 2 chests of drawers and put the bed’s head/​foot boards in between the chests, but they told me that my way would not work. So, they loaded the chests upright and leaned the boards at an angle. They strapped in everything, and I was on my way. I turned right out of the lot, and made the U-​turn, and the chests fell over. I was driving 5 mph.
I headed back to the store, and the men loaded the chest the way I suggested. The youngest worked said, «Maybe you can pick up one of the chests tomorrow.» We did.
When we got home Friday evening with the one chest and other furniture, I noticed that the one chest cracked as a result of the fall. I took pictures.
On Saturday, I returned to pick up the other chest. When I showed the pictures to James, the man who instructed the workers how to load the load the furniture (which fell over at my 5 mph U-​turn), he promptly replied, «That’s not our fault. As soon as the furniture leaves the parking lot, we’re no longer responsible. … You must not have tied it down tight enough.» When I corrected him reminding him that World Imports employees tied it down following his instructions, he replied, «That’s still not our fault.» He informed me that I was responsible, and at no time offered an apology.
We will never return here to purchase furniture. We were not looking for a replacement or a cash discount for the damaged furniture. We simply wanted to hear a professional apologize for a mistake that he occurred under his instruction. Instead, James blamed the customer.
I informed Greg, the man who loaded the furniture and apologized to us when we first returned, that James has a responsibility issue, and that we would never buy furniture at World Imports again. There are plenty of other furniture stores on Reno and throughout OK. I’ll go where professionals respect customers who have paid for their goods and services.

It’s like part furniture part taxidermy shop. Creepy.
I was cruising down furniture row on Reno hitting the spots to find a new dining set and figured, «why not pop in?» The World Imports name seems a little deceiving to me. If by «world» you mean backwoods Tennessee rustic log furniture and maybe a few pieces made in mexico or china.
I’m all about different tastes but once I saw the hunting orange and camouflage children’s recliner and deer hoof wall-​mount hook plaque, I knew I was outside my taste box and into something like a cross between Bass Pro Shop and a furniture store.
The staff were wonderful people and answered the few questions I asked… out loud.
This is just not my style. So my rating isn’t so much about the staff or the goods, I’m sure there are plenty of people that would love this place. It’s just not for me.
