I’m pretty stingy with my Unilocal reviews. This place is 5 stars. the crawdad/redfish plate was absolutely excellent. Our Server/bartender(we sat at bar) Gabe was also 5 stars. He showed genuine interest in our job, fishing, and hunting. He was also knowledgeable about all of these. Gabe is outstanding, as was the food. 5⁄5 for sure.

Wanted to provide another good review for Trappers! Ordered my usual Mesquite BBQ shrimp Brochette, subbing out the fried Okra for the garlic mashed potatoes. One downside to today’s meal, we had to ask the waiter for the bread at the start of the dinner, and he still forgot it and never ended up getting it. Reminder, this comes standard with every dinner meal. This isn’t the first time it’s happened either. On to more important things, first time trying the fried crawdad tail appetizer, and it might be the new go to! Wife doesn’t even like seafood, and she loved this. Breaded well. Nice and crispy. And the cherry dipping sauce really sets it off. Also my dessert bread pudding was more than I could handle. They bring out a huge slab of bread pudding which was combined with raisins, almonds, an apple glaze along with small apple chunks. Couldn’t eat it all but will be warming it up for a snack tonight while watching my DVR shows. Another positive was a first for my wife, she got the Strawberry beerbon which she describes as a nice bourbon cocktail which combines strawberry and bourbon. Not to heavy on the stomach and it has a perfect mixture of the bourbon taste and strawberry. Good bourbon cocktail for those who want to enjoy bourbon but don’t want the strong taste.

I have been here several times and I have always received great service. The fried chicken and mashed potatoes are the best!

Excellent! I will be back. Great Prime Rib sandwich. I will leave the fried onions off next time. Great beef doesn’t need any help. Wife got the Ultimate fried chicken. Another excellent dish. Lots of potatoes. Both lunch portions were more than enough for $ 10 each.

Food was incredible!!! I’m from Arizona and ordered the prime rib and shrimp and it was the best I have had in a very long time. The service was excellent 5 star and the food was a 5 star. Established clamp chowder in OKC. Will come back everytime I’m in town.

The best Ribeye I’ve ever had. Huge portion, perfectly cooked. Sides were also great. The Coconut fried shrimp, baked potato were also very good. My only complaint is was this one waitress/bartender. Despite tipping her generously for a takeout order she wasn’t polite and messed my order. If it wasn’t for her I might have given Trappers 5 stars.

If you don’t have the time to go hunting/camping but want that hunting/camping feel/food… This is your spot! Upon arriving the place where you check in was chaotic! Several people were pilled on top of each other, you didn’t known who was coming or going. After about a 15 – 20 min wait we were seated. Fast fwd to the food… We ordered the fried crawfish tails(crawdad tails) which came with a black cherry mustard dipping sauce which complimented the appetizer, and surprisinly good! For my dinner I got the«Field and Stream» which came with: 2 Quail and Trout & some rice, it also came with a side. Which I elected to try the mashed potatoes and the salad that came with the meal. Before electing for the salad, I asked the waiter if the salad was good, she told me that it was a hit! Then I asked her, what was so special about the salad to make it a hit? She replied, «Nothing» lol… Boy was she right! When my salad came out, it was just lettuce and fried onion straws on top with their house dressing. lol, no tomatoes, or anything. I felt like a hamster eating dinner… Finally my food came out, I have never had quail before. So the whole time I was eating the quail, I kept smiling for some odd reason. The quail had a nice mesquete smoked flavored, that was pretty tasty. I just kept having that feeling like I went hunting/camping(which I have never done) with two of my co-workers(Double S) an we hunted quail and cooked it over an open flame while drinking Bud Light and O’doul’s. As far as the trout? Well, again. Just tasted like we caught it, and cooked it over an open flame. It wasn’t really seasoned or anything, it was just«Meh». I preferred the quail over the Trout, since the quail had more flavor. My wife got the fried Oysters, which she said was seasoned pretty good. For dessert I got the Bread Pudding, which was decent, it tasted like it had fruit chunks in it, which was ok. Really no complaints on the appetizers or dessert. One thing I must say, is they do give you a lot of food! Recap: Apptizer(Crawdad Tails): Good Trout: Not Good/No flavor(Camping taste) Quail: Ok(had nice smoke flavor) Salad: I felt like a hamster Mash Potatoes: Decent Half Sweet Tea/Lemonade: Good Bread Pudding: Ok I might give it another try, it wasn’t really that bad, but it wasn’t to die for…

We came here for dinner as we were in the area, and honestly it was a good experience. The place is covered with hunting trophies and they have a BIG bear in the entrance. Amazing! Food was also good. We had some appetizers; we ordered the alligator and it was tasty… I really liked it! I also had the Crawfish Ettouffe and it was delicious! It was a lot too. From a service perspective they were kind of slow but the place was packed! There was some type of horse convention where you could see a lot of guys wearing hats and boots. I guess this is the norm in this side of the country. I really enjoyed it!

We arrived in Oklahoma City in the early evening. Right across the street from our hotel was Trapper’s Fishcamp. We thought what the heck, let’s just walk over there and see what they have. Everything was fantastic! Wonderful service, delicious food, perfect size portions if you have a healthy appetite; it was just a great experience overall. I wish there was one at home!

Great Cajun food with a nice ambiance ! Always consistent ! The lemon pepper catfish with rice and beans and squash Rockefeller is wonderful ! We have been coming here for years and is always satisfied with the whole experience ! The only complain today is the hostess ! She never looked up as we entered the restaurant not did she even look up as we said hello lol! She didn’t say a word as she pulled out the menu and showed she was totally bored and disgusted with her job! She walked slowly barely awake and dropped menu on table and left ! We watched her pretty much did the same thing to the other customers. Our waiter on the other hand was excellent !

I love Trappers! I’ve been there a few times now and they never disappoint! I could make a meal out of their Clam chowder!

I started with the clam chowder which was pretty good for Oklahoma. I like mine a tad bit thicker but it was still tasty. That was followed with a salad with house made bleu cheese dressing topped with French fries onions. For my entrée I had the shrimp scampi over a ring of dirty rice with some awesome jus.

I have dined there twice and both times it has been excellent. My crawfish étouffée is spicier than normal and is a perfect balance of crawfish tail and seasonings. I have had the raw oyster appetizer each time as well. The first time, I didn’t notice the menu board to see what type of Oysters they were, but this time I was seated in a different location and saw that these oysters were gulf oysters. They were more familiar to me, as a local casino has them on their seafood buffet. My husband and mother both had the popcorn shrimp. They both had too much shrimp and had to have left overs. My husband loved the fried onions underneath the shrimp and on his salad. My salad and his were perfectly crisp and just the right size. I have ordered blue cheese dressing both times and each time it appeared home made. This is a place so rare that the next time I have extra money, I’m taking my son. Both times I’ve been in the area were for my sons basketball and track state tournaments. It will be worth the two hour trip to dine there.

Very disappointed and am a bit embarrassed. I was bragging to my family that this was the best seafood in OKC. I couldn’t have been further from the truth! I had the pecan crusted trout with the potato salad and got a side of the squash rockefeller. For this being one of their«specialties»…not so good! The trout was over cooked, the squash was cold but the potato salad was fine. My mom and stepdad both got the grilled Idaho trout. My mom got the wild rice and the stepdad got sweet potato fries. Their trout was barely warm, the rice was a bit over seasoned but the sweet potato fries were good. My daughter had the cedar plank salmon with the squash rockefeller. Of all of the dishes hers was the best. The salmon was cooked perfectly and was still hot. However her squash rockefeller was cold too. The highlight to the dinner was the salad. Three of us had the campsite salads and the other had the ceasar. All were excellent. Just be aware that the ceasar salad has a little bite(spicey) to it. The worst part was our waitress. When asked about the menu items she could not tell us anything about them or did she offer to find out. She was inattentive and seemed to be put out when we asked for something else. My daughter wanted a baked potato with her salmon and she was told they didn’t serve them until 5:00, it was already after 5:00! She didn’t even offer to check. She never came back to see how everything was and very slow with the drink refills. She was, however, prompt with the checks! Overall grade«D». The salads and salmon saved them from getting a worse grade. This isn’t the Trappers I remember! I won’t be back soon. If at all! Trappers reached out to me and asked if I would call them. I did. I again told them what I said above. They apologized and asked if I would return if they sent me a gift card. I told them that I would check with my family and that we had spent $ 140. They said they would get the gift card in the mail. I got the gift card but it was only for $ 20. Hardly worth me spending another $ 120 to give them another chance. I won’t be using the gift card and the new overall rating is an «F».

Ok, eclectic mix of Northwest trapper and Louisiana Cajun music. Place was packed so I snuggled up to the bar. I ordered a tall Moose Drool which is a Missoula Montana brown ale. Pretty good tasting. For my appetizer I had the calamari with the red gravy. The breading was Cajun and the red sauce or marinara was really spicy. The calamari was cooked spot on. Breading crisp and the meat tender. The salad was typical of a restaurant except for the fried onion topping which was tasty. For dinner I had the Cajun pasta which is a linguini with a thin sauce tossed with sausage, tasso ham, chicken, and shrimp. Being from Pensacola I was surprised the shrimp were done perfectly. All in all, four stars. The only reason I can’t grab that last star is the price point is slightly high.

I barely remembered that I had been here years ago, and the experience was not that amazing. But now, it is AMAZING. I had the cedar plank salmon… that is funny to me as most farmers see cedar trees as giant weeds. This came with a spinach stuffed yellow squash. The fish was prepared wonderfully and was moist and flavorful. I also had a Cinnamon Apple drink that was very tasty. This was not too sweet and not at all like the cinnamon schnapps. It has the warmth of the spice and tasted like a cinnamon apple pie. The interior is very kitchy and creole. The music is great and I wish they had a dance floor. This is a great place for a group or a date.

Had lunch at Trapper’s on a Saturday. There wasn’t a wait, but it was pretty crowded. The décor is a sort of generic hunting cabin. There are fish, deer head, and other animals everywhere. This was fun for my 3 year old to point out all the animals. Our booth was comfortable, nothing to write home about, but I’ve certainly sat in worse. I had the crabcake sliders, which are $ 13 for 2 plus a side dish. I got«Cajun fries,» which are pretty much your standard French fries with a slight, and I mean slight, dusting of Cajun seasoning. Had I known they were your basic thin French fries, I wouldn’t have ordered them. So, the menu fooled me I suppose. Fortunately, I got a side of okra to share with my boy, so I had that since the fries left a lot to be desired. The crabcakes were substantial. They are served on soft buns with cole slaw and tartar sauce. There is a good amount of bread crumbs, but they are good crispy cakes. I’d say this is a good value, but I wouldn’t get the fries were I to order this again. My boy had Kraft mac n cheese, which is under $ 4.00 and comes with a small bag of Teddy Grahams. It’s a decent kid’s meal. We added a bowl of applesauce for 99 cents. Service was good, we got refills timely. But, our food took quite a long time to come out, nearly a half hour. I don’t know if this is due to the waiter forgetting to put in our order or the fact that the kitchen was busy. He did apologize, but it was annoying. Overall, this is a serviceable Cajun joint, but it’s nothing to write home about. I’ll return, but only if I’m in the area.
